Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. https://www.cruisecritic.com/articles/persian-garden-on-celebrity-cruises check out this article on Persian garden.
  2. It appears that you are questions have been hijacked by hairdryer debate. We were on the constellation about a year ago and very much enjoyed it. I spent a lot of time before dinner at the martini bar, which is always good to meet people at and see a good show. We really enjoyed the reflections lounge on deck 11. Lots of activities in the evening. My husband very much enjoyed the Persian garden, especially after a day of excursions. The silent disco‘s that were held were extremely lively and fun. The constellation still has a library on it so that’s always a good quiet place to sit. We also took a vantage of playing pickle ball on the sports court. It can get windy but we really enjoyed ourselves. Hope you have a great cruise.
  3. I emailed the executive office yesterday and received a phone call and email today. Standard lines but nice to get a response.
  4. I completely agree with you. I love traditions, but there is a place and time. You are breaking tradition to be on a cruise at Christmas, you shouldn’t expect to keep all others. I think it is entitled thinking to inconvenience staff and other patrons to meet your whims. Menus are planned in advance, shopping is completed to match, staff are assigned tasks, and you want them to stop what they are doing to accommodate >1% of people onboard???? Enjoy what is prepared. Check out the buffet. Maybe a new tradition will be born.
  5. I would vote for it stay adult only. No exceptions. Once you start making exceptions, it becomes a slippery slope. People report being discriminated against because others were allowed to do it and they are being told no. In addition, we all have different definitions of what is acceptable child behavior (adult behavior also but that’s a different thread). So whose definition would be used? If Disney can manage an adult only area, Celebrity can also.
  6. Was on Connie this past February. Great staff. Lovely ship. Was there some wear? Yes. Was staff always working on her? Yes. Was she clean? Yes. Personal preference but wonderful time.
  7. We were there this past February. We rented a jeep and toured the island. It was great having the ability to stop wherever we wanted and for as long as we wanted. Highlights for us were Timothy Hill and the black rocks.
  8. We were on the constellation March of this year. All my concerns, based on CC reports, were for nothing. The food in the Oceanview Cafe and MDR was very good. There was plenty of choices in both. Service was wonderful in the MDR and quite good in the buffet. Most stations were open at dinner and all seemed open at breakfast and lunch. Enjoy your cruise.
  9. No attack at all. Funny how you interpreted it. The point is there are many activities and areas on the ship for all to enjoy. I think there is a difference between asking questions, sharing experiences, and negativity. I will choose positivity and gratitude. Have a great evening.
  10. Wow it is amazing how people will find something to complain about. And feel it necessary to attack others. I love the sport, Yes I said sport, nothing lazy about it. Played on the Constellation in February and looking forward to playing on Beyond next February. I am sure during play time you can find something great to do in another part of the amazing ship. How about focusing on positives for a change?
  11. On the ship you can use the chat feature of the app to keep in touch with your party. It is a very nice feature
  12. Great review. We were on the cruise with you and fall into the smaller demographic you discussed. The crew was amazing. The buffet was very good most days for lunch. Really enjoyed the small plates at the Spa Cafe (smoothies are covered by the premium drink package- very hit or miss this cruise. Only place where I wouldn’t rate the crew as excellent). The main dining room food was mostly good to very good- no complaints. We had ocean view rooms with the expanded porthole on deck 3. Great rooms and would recommend. St kitts was our favorite port- rented a jeep and explored the island. We did this in 3 ports and found it a relaxing way to customize our time. I will admit I was very concerned pre-cruise with all the negativity on this forum, but was pleasantly surprised. Of course, a positive attitude always helps. Enjoyed it enough to book a Panama Canal cruise on Beyond for January.
  13. Thank you for all your humor, honesty, and pictures. We board February 3rd and we are very excited. Have a safe trip to Hawaii.
  14. I have watched this topic closely. Initially I was very concerned, enough to email and speak with Celebrity. Yes they gave a company line including how many changes were suggestions from customers. When I stopped literally laughing, I made suggestions about transparency that may or may not have fallen on deaf ears. On the positive side, she was responsive and polite. I pondered longer and watched these threads become more negative and attack those with differing opinions. Not cool. Let me add a few of my insights and some from others more learned: I was fortunate to take a Viking river cruise (yes, it is a smaller ship, yes it is on smaller bodies of water, yes smaller capacity, yes still relevant). There was not an evening buffet. No one went hungry. There was not a ton of grumbling. After long port days would it have been nice to have a relaxed, shorts option, sure, but not a deal breaker. Speaking with a TA who only does Royal and Celebrity cruise’s herself, she was excited by the changes. Not what I expected. Her rationale: 1. Told a story of cruisers taking bags to the buffet and clearing out all the boxes of cereal and fruit. Their reasoning, they paid for a cruise that included food so they were entitled to take it all home 2. Shared watching people overload 4+ plates at the buffet and end up throwing away tons of food. 3. As an insider, has seen the massive waste at the end of the night due to lower turn out at the buffet than expected. Food costs are high; socially responsible thinking regarding food waste is on the increase, thankfully; Covid caused changes in the way the world operates. Should Celebrity have been more transparent, of course. Should food quality be important, yes. Maybe by cutting waste they can focus on quality. Will Celebrity do some course corrections over time, we can hope. Overall, hoping for the best on my February 3rd cruise. I’m choosing to focus on the positives while being aware of the changes. Reality is perception, find a way to accept what you can’t change, make changes in future decisions if unhappy, find the positives in what you have. have a wonderful day
