If Heaven has a Cafe de Wheels franchise, MrGUT will certainly partake in their products. Going to miss his input to the pastry debate.

Brisbane cruise terminal to Lone Koala Sanctuary

Just because the ship docks at 8.00am does not mean you will be on the dock at 8.01am. 45minutes is far to tight even for Brisbane, so forget the Miramar. If we go to the UK or USA we are obliged to use Pounds and USD as visitors are required to pay in AUD or Credit Card. -

Recommendations on staying on the Gold Coast or Brisbane?
beatleman replied to JAKE3337's topic in Australia & New Zealand
Head to the Sunshine Coast a more pleasant area than the GC. Mooloolaba or Noosa are my picks for a base. -
Royal and Celebrity have been using Shute Harbour to moor instead of the Port of Airlie, which is about 20 minutes South of Airlie. Most GBR boats leave between 7 and 8.30am and return between 4 and 5pm. Be aware of your ships arrival and departure time, most people find that 3rd party excursions are to tight. The same applies to Cairns and Port Douglas.

Great place to visit suggest you take the ships excursion as it is located a few miles the other side of Brisbane. -
The Seafood Restaurant you ate at is Doyles at Watsons Bay, still there and very expensive If you like Seafood suggest you visit the Sydney Fish Market, easy to get to by Light Rail L1 Dulwich line .

Those were the days.it was called *Disneyland for Adults* I believe some of the rides were expensive๐คฃ

Last time I looked Sydney had a population of over 5 million, streets are narrow compared to other Australian city's. Peak hours are horrible so hold ups are a fact of life. Sydney has the best Public Transport in Australia, if you plan what you want to see and use the Light Rail, the Loop and some walking to places of interest, Remember the Harbour ir Sydney so use the Ferry's for both transport and photo ops of Sydney.

Using AirportLink from cruise port to airport
beatleman replied to dlh015's topic in Australia & New Zealand
We vary rarely use any other way than the train to the airport, fast and cost effective, way to go. -
Maroola is around Goulburn which is a long way from Sydney.

Sydney has the best transport system in OZ, a combination of train ,light rail and ferry's will take you to all parts of the city. HOHO does not cover places like Manly or the Zoo, also Photo Op's on the harbour abound.Sydney is a great DIY city, grab an Opal card and explore. google Sydney Transport .Welcome to OZ

Brilliance of the Seas 22nd October 2023

Chilli why not get your mate "BIG GAV" to bring a Freedom class ship to our shores, seeing that white elephant "La Leepa" has disappeared and he should have some spare time,he could also get a new OPT built in the harbour. ๐ -
They will be in force when entering both Australian and NZ ports you will be notified by the ship not to take any food items of the ship. Trail Mix can be obtained from every supermarket, health food store or just about any where that sells food,so why risk a fine. By the way NZ is a lot stricter than OZ.

As you like nightlife suggest Darling Harbour which is loaded with bars and places to eat, also less expensive than Circular Quay. The Light Rail runs through Darling and down to the Quay. Ferries are available from King Street Wharf. The Holiday Inn is well located in this area, however there are plenty of hotels in the area. Hope this helps,
