  1. Deck plans change after April 6, 2024. Is your cruise this year or next year?
  2. Even if your sail date is closer than 4 weeks, it does not hurt to submit for these OBC benefits. The four weeks is to allow for lengthy processing time. Often it just takes a day or two, not weeks.
  3. If you need an accessible cabin with an upgrade bid, chances are you already have an accessible cabin cabin with your original booking. Even easier than adding a box to check is having the software see that one already has an accessible cabin and only give a successful bid if an accessible cabin is available in the bid category.
  4. Did you book your fare under a special sale that applied only to standard rates? If so, even if you had booked with Plus originally your basic fare would have gone up. Best to add the Plus package on board as I do not think the fare increase would happen there.
  5. Only get 1 point. Rules state that benefits such as that do not apply to successful bids. Also do not get greater OBC if there was an OBC benefit when you had originally booked. Does the upgrade include any additional promotions? No. The upgrade doesn’t include any additional perks. However, you get to keep any promotions you already have.
  6. We pick the itineraries we like and if they are on the Island, we book that ship. We do not just ask what cruises are available on the Island and then pick one. Actually, that is the same for all ships/itineraries on all cruiselines. We have never picked a cruise or rejected one just because of the age of the ship. In the year before the pandemic on another cruiseline we sailed on both the oldest ship in their fleet and the newest ship in their fleet. Had a great experience on both ships which were picked by the itineraries that interested us.
  7. Sister ship of the Island Princess is the Coral Princess, not the Caribbean Princess. Many people are unhappy with how Princess modified the Island
  8. I forget where the Star went, but whoever took it probably did not want the CB.
  9. When I called them, they did not try to fix problems, thus no promises. What they did was set up stuff I had been unable to do myself with the app or Internet site.
  10. When I read the title (Weird thing on twice baked goat cheese souffle) my first thought was that there is something weird served on top of the souffle now.
  11. These is still a coffee package. The problem is finding out anything about it from Princess. https://www.cruisehive.com/princess-cruises-adds-new-package-option-for-passengers/95184
  12. Long before the coffee card became a digital item with the Medallion, Princess did chagne how the actual cards worked. When you received a card, it was to be marked with the voyage number. Whether or not you used every "punch" for a specialty coffee, the free fresh brewed was available for the entire cruise. And you could use the card on a future voyage for any unused "punches", but no free fresh-brewed on that future cruise unless you used a "punch" for it. With the move to digital, any unused "punches" were lost at the end of the cruise.
  13. You can always call Princess and book over the phone, skipping use of the App.
  14. The reserved area on production show evenings is not and is not intended to be large enough to hold all eligible passengers. So to be sure of sitting in that area (if eligible), you may still need to show up early and not wait until just before any unused seats are released to the unwashed masses. At least previous to the recent price increases, Princess expected about 25% of passengers to book with the Premier package. For a Royal class ship, that would be about 890 passengers.
  15. Also from Princess TRAVEL DOCUMENT, VISA AND VACCINATION DISCLAIMER This information is provided as general guidance. Because governmental and medical vaccination requirements and recommendations change periodically you must check with your travel advisor, government authorities for the countries you will visit and/or medical professionals to determine or verify the actual requirements and recommendations at the time of sailing. Princess assumes no liability for the passenger's failure to do so. Failure to present required travel documents, visas or vaccination certificates at cruise check-in will result in denial of boarding without refund of the cruise or cruisetour fare.
  16. That refers to US duty. States can add their own regulations. Not a loophole. Carnival just did not make a full explanation of what "all liquor and tobacco that enters Texas via the cruise terminal" means.
  17. And when the Grand came out, it was a "fantastic new ship" of a larger design. And when the Crown came out, it was a "fantastic new ship" of a larger design.
  18. You can call 1-800-Princess and follow the prompts to get to app/medallion support. This support seems to be based in the Philippines and the people I have spoken with have been very helpful.
  19. And as far as what the Feds can limit: Also, state laws might limit the amount of alcohol you can bring in without a license. If you arrive in a state that has limitations on the amount of alcohol you may bring in without a license, that state's law will be enforced by CBP, even though it may be more restrictive than federal regulations. We recommend that you check with the state government about their limitations on quantities allowed for personal importation and additional state taxes that may apply. Ideally, this information should be obtained before traveling. https://www.cbp.gov/travel/international-visitors/kbyg/customs-duty-info
  20. People have free passage between states. Possessions do not. For example, if marijuana is legal in state X and not in Texas, then possession of it in Texas is illegal even if you are just transiting the state. Another example, if having a gun without a license is legal in Texas, that does not mean you can bring it to New York City where it would be illegal.
  21. Declaration separates personal from commercial purposes. Personal includes using it yourself or giving it to others.
  22. The problem in general is that unless you are dining when the dining room first opens each evening, there is no way that Princess can be sure a table will be available at the time you have reserved. People can complete a meal in different amounts of time, so the reservation you had for xx:xx PM may find no table available since people have not completed their meals. Princess will not rush someone to finish eating because the table is needed for a reservation.
  23. As I understand it, when you itemize purchases for US customs, no matter where you enter the country the amount of allowed alcohol of the state you live in applies (as well as Federal limits). As far as Texas, or any other state that is a port of entry, you may live in another state but there is no guarantee that you will not be leaving the alcohol with friends/relatives before you leave the state. Laws are not that different in other countries. If you disembark from a cruise in Singapore and the ship had stopped in Malaysia, then any alcohol you bring into the country is taxed, no matter where you purchased it. They strictly enforce it and I had to pay duty taxes on a single bottle of wine I had purchased in Spain. There would have been no tax if the ship had not been to Malaysia.
  24. Top Gun Maverick is a relatively recent film that was listed above as being on Princess now. It was out on DVD at the end of last October.
