While we always get Premium Beverage Packages as a Zenith, I would suspect that if you speak with Customer Service they may make exception. I know on two other lines I have sailed they made an exception on upgrading just one of the free basic package because I told them I don't drink. They may require a passenger to buy a Non-booze beverage package like Can you imagine the optics if they forced an Alcoholic or a person with a medical conditions to buy a package. Just my thought

I have seen Celebrity offer New Bookings Only rates and have been denied a match. If you happened to book with a refundable you could potentially cancel and re-book.

I thought that was intentional by RCL so they don't have to give $200 Stockholder Credit for cruises over 13 days. Very few cruises are more than 13 any more.

Last couple of cruises Zenith's and Suite passengers met in Retreat and we were escorted for Immigration formalities and Zero Out on and off the ship. You do of course receive your B2B instructions but they were designed for regular passengers to show up at a location. We also received additional instructions and verbal instructions from the Retreat Host to ignore the other instructions and come to the Retreat. It is also not uncommon for them to deliver luggage tags to your room which you don't usually need.

You probably don't have a loud snorer as a partner or cabin mate. That is the main reason I book a two room suite with a door. The option of an extra cabin would be an option if traveling in anything below a CS.

Thanks George. I was trying to be polite and not disparage E-Class but for us We will probably never sail E-Class again and have shifted 80+% bookings away from Celebrity. We each enjoying cruising in a different manner and we never use the Outdoor Retreat Area and find the Luminae experience boring, repetitive and limited. For those that sail occasionally I'm sure this isn't an issue, but when we have sailed Celebrity for 10-12 weeks a year they got old quickly and I totally loose my appetite for the same ol things. At least on M and S class ships you have the ability to order from MDR. Many nights there's nothing on the Luminae that interests us. We use to fall back on the Petite Filet on the kids menu but they have recently even eliminated this. Don't get me wrong many of the Maitre'D have been beyond accommodating and encourage us to order the night before from MDR, Blu and even offered to cook things special off menu. Maybe we just need a change for a couple years and will be back as a dedicated Celebrity cruiser. When I look at the Menus on Cunard, Ponant, Oceania, Silversea and Regent SS I just lust for such a menu on Celebrity --- but when I read their forums I hear the same complaints: Decreased Food Qualilty, Cut-backs and "Things aren't the way the use to be".

While I can't confirm for sure. This year I did Singapore to Sydney and the Drink Prices were increased by 20% and the Limit per drink was increased by 20%. In April Sydney to Honolulu and then on to Vancouver (B2B) and on that cruise they did not increase the drink prices. Not sure how the determination is made.

As per your suggestion. There is no normal. You may get your best clue by reading some of the posts on the Move-Up sticky where people report when the submitted price range of bid and if successful or not usually showing the day they were notified. Most of my upgrades have been about 10 days to 2 weeks prior to cruise but also have received some at 48 hours. I only bid on Upper Suites from and Upper Suite so they may hold them for possible sale longer.

Not sure if it will help or not but I would fill out a Special Needs form and submit it with a copy of your doctors note. It's worth a try.

You may be better off looking at some of the reviews in the Celebrity Review section or read some of the live reviews here on Cruise Critic. The advantage of the live posts is that you can ask specific questions regarding the class of cabin you plan on booking, itinerary and items of interest. Reviewers are often more prone to post negative reviews as oppose to complimentary reviews. As a matter of fact after 25 years sailing Celebrity I have never left a review of any of the ships or cruise lines. I spent over 2 months on Apex over the past year and can say she is a lovely ship and has a great Captain and crew. The E-Class ships are state of the art and for us we much prefer the older S-Class. That is not a negative slam of Apex but our personal preferences for a smaller quieter cruise experience. It is also biased as we only travel in Upper Suites. Another really good place for advise are the Roll Calls for specific cruises where you can ask others questions that may help you.

I'm getting the feelings that booking early is the key to both getting the cabin you want and the best prices. At the suggestion of our TA we purchased Refundable Fares - If I recall a processing fee of $100 pp up until final payment date. Are you thinking of an Africa cruise? I had been looking and wanted one on the West Coast ----really didn't find many and this one with a TA was the perfect choice for us. An East Coast may work with you and cut your flight time. Oops really getting off topic. Sorry OP

It was a Sunday when we were there and we were just wandering around. Postbar was one of the few places we found open. Also in the neighborhood there was a neighborhood bar that had spilled out into the street..... They graciously took our hands and invited us to join them. What a kick.

Thanks Lew, I'm really getting excited about this one and it is not until May of 2026. Capetown up West Coast of Africa to Lisbon and then on to Miami. I've always wanted to see Africa and will probably spend a week prior in Victoria to visit the falls and do a Safari. Incredible how quick RSS books - We booked a Concierge and Waitlisted for a higher grade but to tell you the truth, I think we can have a great time even if we don't clear a wait list. It feels like a bargain at about $1,200 a night after TA upfront discount. I'm sure the time will fly by.

Hope you post on Celebrity about your Ascent cruise. I've spent a couple months this year on E-Class ships this year and will be interested to hear your perspective. We have grown not to be a big supporter of the E-Class ships. Our sweet spot are the S-Class. I personally don't pat attention to tag lines like "Best Food at Sea" - Oceania nor "Nothing comes Close" - Celebrity's newest tag line. Just marketing.

I don't disagree, I also don't drink but my partner does. I thought it was a fair price when I compare it to Celebrity where the Basic Drink Package cover drinks up to $10 and the Premium covers drinks up to $18. Drinks above that price you only pay the difference plus 20% gratuity.
