  1. It's just a regular USB Micro connector. LIke I say ... I just plug it into the tv's USB port for power.
  2. I've been to Eden about 6 times and have enjoyed but on recent cruise just did not stand up to earlier visits. While they originally had a Nova Scotia Lobster Casserole --- while in Asia, Australia and Trans Pacific they were serving tiny lobster from parts unknown. Definitely not Nova Scotian . After doing it 6 times the menu has really gotten boring and will probably not go again. Traveling in a RS it is included so really hadn't noticed the price increases.
  3. I probably talk via text to my kids than by voice. It is so much easier when you have a quick question and they can answer when available instead of bothering them at work. It is however nice to chat with them in person and on the phone when possible.
  4. Your wish may be coming. Currently 11 States have an Optional Digital Drivers License. There are also 29 major U.S. airport that are currently accepting them for security clearance. Our health care provider, Kaiser, accepts our digital health cards.
  5. Curious if anyone knows what the upgrade cost to Streaming from the Essential Wifi that came with our Queens Grill Booking?
  6. Often after a Norovirus outbreak they have both CDC inspection (in the US depending on percentage) they also do a deep cleaning and disinfection of all surfaces before boarding new PAX.
  7. Looking forward to reading your thoughts on your November cruise. I will be live posting on our September Regatta experience. Followed by our first Cunard TA in October. Culminating in our Celebrity TA in November. Will be interesting to compare 3 totally different products. I'm ok with NO Fru Fru elegance.
  8. @janelledocb Like you I never thought we would have jumped ship. When asked why we had never cruised other lines, we always said - "We like the product, service and food". I just feel that Celebrity has shifted their focus and target market and we are probably no longer that demographic. Just wonder how many 3 and 4 days cruise at their target market it takes to make up for the loss of about 12 weeks we spend in Upper Suites. We have two remaining cruises booked for TA's in Royal Suites - one Nov of this year and one Nov of 2025. It is bitter "suite" that we hit double Zenith earlier this year. The only velvet lining is we were able to apply our free 7 Day Aqua cruise against our December TA. I know Oceania and SilverSea will be different but after taking our first Non-Celebrity Cruise on Ponant we are excited to now be booking by price and itinerary as oppose to ever being tied by "Loyalty".
  9. Yes - the Samsung TV's have 1 USB port, and 2-3 HDMI ports. You need to select the port that you are plugging your device into . I've used it on Edge and Apex a couple months ago.
  10. I use my Firestick 4k Max all the time. I do not buy additional USB power cords but just plug the one that comes with the firestick into the USB port. There can be some challenges to log onto the ships captive login screen. Sometimes it pops up but other times it doesn't. When it doesn't I open the built in browse and go to guest.onboardicafe.com - then log in as normal. Depending on where you are in the world (when the ship is not connected to a U.S. Based Server you may not be able to access some sites like Netflix. In those cases you will require a VPN. I know that ExpressVPN and NordVPN have native app in Firestick, With these you just logon to the VPN and choose from hundreds of U.S. Servers. You are the spoofing (pretending) you location.
  11. The App is NOT required but can be convenient and is good for looking at menus, activities, Checking In and other features. Many people do not use smart phones and have just as enjoyable of a vacation. Personally I'm addicted to my Phone / Camera and wouldn't leave home without out it.
  12. @island lady You might want to read @GenerationX live post from Reflection. She is currently on a 3 day cruise and was reporting what it is like. Sounds like a booze cruise for sure and I've asked her to report on the demographics. She will be an excellent source of information and is an incredible CC member who post great live reviews. Another great poster that is posting @Norwaylady who is currently posting live from Infinity in Greece. She and her husband are in your demographics and traveling with their nephew who is a teen.
  13. Latest was at the pier. Your guarantee will be assigned, often after cabins open up after upgrades. You are guaranteed that particular class but on rare occasions you are assigned a higher level cabin.
  14. Wow.... can't believe the stories of those dressed a bit casual and those tipping the glass too much. How would you describe the Demographics. I've never done a 3 day cruise and have always imagined them to be a young crowd Booze Cruises. What you have been describing is what I imagined.
  15. Not crazy to me --- Florida is also famous for all types of hidden fees with hotels and car rental. The legislation was mostly directed at air line fares with luggage fees, seat fees etc. It also was directed to hotels who add on everything from Resort Fees to city and state taxes. Car Rentals are also know tho add on more fees than the featured daily rental cost.
  16. I would say that if you desire a younger demographics on Celebrity, Choose a Edge Class Caribbean Cruise during the summer month. The shorter the cruise the more likely you will find a younger crowd. While you may enjoy there is no way I would ever do a 2-3 day booze cruise. Another good selection may be any ship class during College Spring Break. Many 55+ cruiser select longer cruises (+10 days) and Repositioning cruises due to the fact that there are fewer kids and the fact they don't have to limit their cruising to meet limited annual vacation.
  17. I understand others desire to get local currency, but I can tell you when I'm on tour with mostly guests from countries that don't tip, I often find I am the only guest to show my gratitude by leaving a tip. They have always been very grateful. I also found that most tourist places in Iceland and Scandinavia almost all tourist shops took - Dollars, Pounds and Euros. They would also give back change in what ever currency you use. I just don't like getting stuck with a pocket full of currency that I won't use. We do always keep on hand Pounds, Euros and Canadian Dollars but I probably use ApplePay for 99% of all expenditures.
  18. Thanks for your wonderful review. Like you we have sailed Exclusively in Suites and Exclusively Celebrity for 24 years. Also like you we are not happy with the new Edge Class ships and many, many changes that are not positive. We are also Orphans trying new lines and believe Oceania may be our new Go To cruise going forward. We will be taking our first Oceania Cruise in September and your review is really making more excited. We had originally booked Vista in an Owner's Suite for 2025 but just couldn't wait so decided to book a close by Alaska Cruise on Regatta. I know it is a smaller older ship but that has not damped our excitement. For this cruise we booked the Vista Suite so I don't believe we will be having any noise issues. I just added those speaker deflectors to my wish list. They really make sense as often on Celebrity I find the speakers facing the wall really muffel the sound making me turn up the volume. Thanks again.
  19. I've taken numerous cruises to Norway and Scandanavia. As many said tipping is not expected and common. My observation has been that the majority of the tips he gladly accepted were in USD. He was just pleased to be so honored for his hard work. Since they work in the tour trade they easily convert whatever they receive in any currency. Remember they appreciate gratuities regardless of currency. They fully understand most of their guests will not have Norwegian Krone
  20. You don't know what your missing. You will definitely have to give it a go. Banana's, whipped cream and a Caramel sauce in a crust.
  21. I've done both embarkation and disembarkation. Very smooth experience. Conveniently located for tram or subway access to the train station. Travel time to Schiphol is similar from Rotterdam or Amsterdam Also trains between Rotterdam / Schiphol / Amsterdam run about every 12 minutes.
  22. Gotcha --- so if for example on initial booking you chose all inclusive then it can't be broken apart.
  23. Murano Specialty Restaurant on the M and S class ships is totally different than the Murano restaurant on an E-Class. The cheese cart of course would not be included on the MDR Murano. I can't remember any of the Specialties on E-Class ships having a cheese cart but I seem to remember you can order a Cheese Platter in Luminae and possibly Eden
  24. Maybe some of the rest of you would know. If the Drink package and Wifi were add on's, Couldn't they just go into the order history and cancel or couldn't the Celebrity Agent do the same. I know if I were to have added it after booking the cruise I can cancel any purchase with no penalty.
  25. On the Web Version - You go to Plan my cruise. Then click Drinks on the black bar --- Under Drink Experinec you will see Classic and Premium Room Setup
