  1. We are doing much the same. Our new normal is to fly in a day early. Being from the West Coast flying in the day early puts us in late and not much room for a cancellation. Some of the flights I've looked at recently also have some really tight connections of 30-45 minutes. I purposefully chose one with a 2 1/2 hour connection
  2. Wondering if dependent on cruise. I'm on a August 8 Summit Cruise and did check-in today. Just looked at Calendar and none of my excursions are showing on the app but show on PC via browser.
  3. What is Royal Caribbean’s Burial at Sea policy? Per company policy, we allow the tossing of a biodegradable urn containing ash while at sea. Ashes must be in an approved scattering or biodegradable urn and the entire urn must be tossed. A certificate proving the urn is biodegradable may also be required. Guest will need to provide the death certificate and cremation certificate. Upon boarding, contact the Front Desk to set up a time and place for this request. All requests must be submitted to the following: Email: gfotravelservices@rccl.com Phone: 1-800-256-6649 (Prompt #1 twice)
  4. Usually it doesn't show the minimum until you move the slider bar then you can see what the minimum is.
  5. First come. You select the boarding time during On-Line Checkin. If you want an early time checkin first day it opens at 45 days before the cruise. Suites and Zenith can check-In and board at anytime regardless of check-in time on boarding pass.
  6. Yes that is possible. Once the check in time is in they will see it on any device they use to complete reservation.
  7. The app is not as intuitive as one would like but it's better than it use to be. You can also get to it by clicking on Calendar Icon - At the very bottom in Teal again - Chang Ship/Date I've used it so often I have gotten to know many of it's quirks.
  8. I may be wrong but about the only thing I've seen listed as restricted were Flip Flops and that was debated many times.
  9. I do remember meeting you on the Greek Isles cruise. That was a great cruise. I'm really please when I get to meet others from CC. I have a terrible time putting a persons handle to their real name. Iain on the other hand remembers real names but never logs onto CC so has no ability to help connect the two names. That was the reason I shifted form my original CC name to Jim_Iain.
  10. I just updated my software and it works perfect. I didn't even get a log on screen it remembered my credentials. I guess time to uninstall and reinstall.
  11. on the App -- click on the head icon Underneath where it says 12 night Greenland and Iceland select teal select a different sailing. Choose your next cruise from the list or if you ant to look at a different ship you don't have a booking at the bottom you can select see other ships we support
  12. Thanks for the information. Was curious as to how crowded it was. Been a couple years since we sailed from Port Liberty. We have a 11:00 checkin time and wondering if we should show at 11 or closer to 11:30 - don't need to be the first on the ship but looking for a more relaxed processing.
  13. Yes.... you can do a selfie but I always look like a drunk with my eyes pointed weirdly. You can also have someone take a picture of you that works much better.
  14. Ok --- I've checked in except for my picture and Vax which I'll do later this morning. Here's a couple things I learned. 1. On the App when you press head silhouette it will show you when Check-In opens up (usually 45 days). I live on the West coast and checked at 9:15 PM (12:15 Eastern) and it was available for check in. Never knew it opened exactly at 12:01 Eastern. 2. On a Phone you can go directly to check-in Time and Select a time (you have to do individually for each passenger. 3. First Page scan your passport or manually enter data and take picture. Also want country of birth and Country of Residence, Captain's Club Number, address and emergency contact, Credit Card number and expiration. Finally read and accept terms If no photo just say not now. 4. Choose arrow next to Arrival time an select arrival time ( you can do this at any time) 5. Vaccination details - Asks what vaccine and date of last of Original Vacccination. You can also either take a picture of your card or upload. There is also a choice to add additional picture if on more than one card. They also have a block to add booster (optional). In my case all are one one side of my original card. Snap ... Snap and submit It shows pending until Celebrity approves vaccination certificate. You later come back at 48 hours prior to cruise and complete health questionnaire.
  15. It is on the first page of questions where you enter or scan your passport. You don't have to do it at the time you do the check-in. You can come back late and do it if you choose
  16. I don't select a picture. What I did was I snapped a picture on my phone (on a previous cruise) . On my PC I right clicked on my picture and then saved it to my PC. I tried to use it on a new cruise and it rejected saying it had to be xxx pixels by xxx. I resized the photo to the requirement and saved it on my pc. I now have the photos in the proper size on my PC and each cruise just upload to photo for the particular cruise.
  17. Basically you will need the following: Passport (easiest to use phone for this to just scan the code at bottom and it automatically fills in Passengers Full Name as on your PP Credit Card Number and expiration date Time you wish to board Vac Certificates (I think you can upload at any time) If using phone you just shoot a picture of either 1 side or both if vax record on both sides. By the way - You can do on either a PC or Phone and/or switch back and forth. I usually initially go in and select a boarding time to assure the time I want. Once locked in you can do the rest at anytime. I usually then scan Passports In and fill in the rest of the data. As Jelayne said you will have to take a picture at some point. I usually do that on my pc as I have a couple pictures I use stored on my pc and just upload them instead of having to shoot a picture of each of us for each boarding pass as we usually are taking multi consecutive cruises. You can also just shoot a picture from your phone and can change it later if you don't like it. I'll try to come back and give some more tomorrow as one of mine opens for check-in tomorrow.
  18. One of the Pro's I just recently used was booking a flight for next may from SFO to FLL in First Class. Prices are really up as we all know. If you book with FBC you pay nothing until final payment and is canceller without cost or penalty up until final payment date. Con - After final payment even if with a fully refundable ticket if you cancel or change there is a $200 PP fee. Even though I just booked it last week I found a really good deal on Chase Sapphire on American using 1/2 the number of miles all the other airlines are charging. I booked it. Con- Now I have to call and probably have long wait time to cancel my FBC booking. (Wish you could cancel online).
  19. One recent CON that was the subject of a thread is using a Credit Card that give you free luggage with an airline. Since they were paying Celebrity and not charging their ticket directly with the airline they were refused the free bag allowance.
  20. We did the tour pre-cruise also. The arrival time at the ship varied and as I recall we arrived around 3:00 PM. On the way to the ship we stopped in Anchorage for a couple hours and then on the way to the ship they stopped at the Wild LIfe park for staggering purposes. They were scheduling the buses so they all would not arrive at the same time. I did the tour pre-covid so can't speak to the testing. There is recent thread on this at:
  21. Agree with ChezMaryLou If prior to final payment you can do it with no additional fees unless if you have a NRD in which case there is a $100 pp processing fee. It is best to keep your reservations number and switch to a new cruise as you may have some benefits that MAY or MaY NO transfer with your new booking. One that comes to mind is an on board booking credit. Just make sure that you understand that you may also loose some perks. The current 60% off sale you I believe you loose one perk.
  22. Really would recommend for FCO. If just traveling within Europe maybe 12:00 earliest and that could still be tough. If flying to America I would recommend 3-4 hours after you arrive at airport
  23. Love your "slight rant". Sure sounds like Celebrity is getting back to normal for the summer season. I only sailed once during young ones summer break and once during college spring break and now mostly avoid these periods. At least I'm not the only ones that notice that some parents totally ignore their young once while on the ship. We had one group of young teens that though it was fun to ring our door bell on the RS's and run many times a day. Our butler was there one day when it occurred and he said he would put an end to it. He called security and I guess they could tell who the culprits were as it ended. I can tell from your fantastic attitude and addictive smile that you are having a fantastic cruise. People watching is always fun.
  24. I'm sure you have it well planned, but from memory that would be a very aggressive schedule. From what I recall - on our trip we spent the night in Talkeetna (Denali being about 40 minutes away) and the bus to Seward was about 5 hours. We left very early in the morning and had a stop at the Wildlife Center which they used to stagger the buses into port. Total time was about 7 hours.
  25. Here's a link to carriage rides when I took them. Not sure if they survived Covid as their facebook is old and their website is dead. https://www.facebook.com/Bronco-Stables-Horse-n-Carriage-Bermuda-1519752781686398/
