  1. Just a sight seeing tour of Lady Liberty it's a real crowd pleasure maneuver and a spectacular view.
  2. Not sure if it matters but (geek time) Chrome often will reject some sites that they identify as wanting secure (secure connection) because it thinks the site is trying to redirect to a non-secure webpage. It can usually be fixed by going to the Browsers Advance Security setting and enable "Always use secure connections" toggle.
  3. I will respectfully disagree with some posts, they do price match up until final payment date. Since op isn't cruising until January they could price match up until 90 days prior to cruise. The one advantage of FBC is you pay nothing until Final Payment Date and ZERO penalty for changes or cancellation until that date. After final payment there is indeed a $200 per person to cancel or change flights. or pricing. To confirm for yourself -- search on a flight and click RISK FREE When you click on it the disclaimer opens up explaining cancellation and penalty.
  4. It will be interesting to see if the Vaccination age for children in the U.S. sailings is modified now that vaccination has been approved for children 6 months and above.
  5. Welcome to the world of staffing shortages. I had a problem returning an Avis at London Heathrow. I called Avis after the place on my contract had closed a year ago. The agent asked me if London Heathrow was in the United Kingdom and suggested I return it to where I rented in Southampton. I just hung up after saying "You mean you don't know where the Largest Airport in the world is?
  6. If I recall correctly there is a premium steak available, eggs Benedict with Caviar at least on the Suite Breakfast Menu. If you go on the app to a current cruise... go to Dining and then to Room Service there you will find the menu Gratuity is included in the tipping but most people tip extra either by cash or by putting on the receipt. Tips are pooled.
  7. Yes indeed the price range is different dependent on the current room you are in. I was looking at the prices on the sticky and could see different prices by what someone was already in.
  8. None.... I've used them in Europe. They do ask you something like what state you are a resident but if I recall they also ask you where you are. My test showed times as GMT
  9. They do not use 48 hours they use 2 days. YOu don't count day of cruise and count back 2 days. So if Sunday sailing you can test anytime after 12:01 AM on Friday.
  10. Thanks.... Glad you answered the question many will have.
  11. Can't specifically answer about with a Certificate of Recovery but my understanding is that if in Close Contact you only have to stay in your cabin for X number of days and tested daily after x number of negative tests you are released to the wild. It would seem logical (but Celebrity may not be logical) that if you have a COR and considered immune for 3 months then you wouldn't have to do the quarantine but again I'm trying to be logical.
  12. Looking forward to coming along on you fun vacation. We will be sailing on Summit in August so may pick you brain on who the Retreat Hosts and Retreat Manager are. Have a wonderful trip and if you have time take the Ferry to St. George. It is both a scenic boat ride but a much quieter town than Hilton.
  13. Just remember I have some screen shots. Choices will of course be different since I m a Zenith
  14. I'll give it a stab - First if their ipad also has celluar they need to put in airplane mode but enable wifii. I suspect they don"t. Next thing they need to go to Networks and Select Celebrity (usually Ship Name) First thing they will want to do is to open their iPad and either use a QR code that will be in their room or go to guest.onboardicafe.com on their browser. There will be a choice to sign up for Internet They will have to create a Username and a Passcode (4 digits) To create they will need (and going by memory) Name, Birthdate and account number. The account number is the number on their sea pass. They then select package. If included they just choose the free account. That's it
  15. Thanks I missed that. Really lookd comfortable. When we are in a day early we usually walk down to Las Olas. It is a nice area for sure. On our next cruise I currently have a non-stop booked from SFO to MIA so may be spending time in Miami area.
  16. I was just reading an article on the Point's Guy that they are currently testing it on a RCL ship with a portable antenna unit and said that once it is approved and a new antenna installed it would be 7x faster than the test. Hmmmm... wonder what that would mean cost wise.
  17. The policy changed at the end of April and may have changed again since then. Some of it depends on where you are sailing from and to. When I caught Covid I was under the old plan and they covered isolation in a hotel for 5 days, plus food and a car. That ended First go to: https://www.celebritycruises.com/healthy-at-sea/travel and read the FAQ - Here's the policy for sailing in Europe between May 1 - November 30 (for Europe see second paragraph) When you travel with Celebrity, they have you covered. COVID-19 Assistance Book any Celebrity Cruise that’s sailing between April 16, 2022 and November 30, 2022, and you’ll have the following reassurance at no extra charge: 100% cruise fare refund of your cruise fare for you, and your Traveling Party, if any of you tests positive for COVID-19 within 10 days prior to the cruise or at the boarding terminal. (To qualify for a refund, if your COVID-19 test was administered by a provider other than one retained by Celebrity, you must present your verified positive test result in a form acceptable to Celebrity). Pro-rated cruise fare refund for anyone who has their cruise cut short due to testing positive for COVID-19 or being suspected of having COVID-19 during the cruise. If the Celebrity cruise you book will sail from the European Union or the United Kingdom between May 1, 2022, and November 30, 2022, you’ll also have the following reassurance at no extra charge: If you test positive for COVID-19 during the cruise, Celebrity will: cover the cost of COVID-19 related medical treatment onboard; you and your Traveling Party may stay onboard the ship for free to complete any required quarantine; and Celebrity will help coordinate homebound travel arrangements for you and your Traveling Party, but without covering the cost. “Traveling Party” means your family members living with you in the same household and traveling companions assigned to your stateroom on the cruise. *Policy subject to change at any time
  18. It is always a good idea to look at options. 20+ years ago we booked via Celebrity and would never do it again. Unless things have changed they don't book it by room price but on a per person price that is about equal to what one can book the room for independently. Also unless things have changed you can't book it online and have to call into Celebrity to book it and since they didn't' have anything in writing and I was left trying to write down all the information. Sometimes celebrity offered a package with shuttle service and a tour our two but again price it out and see if it makes sense to you.
  19. Curious about the hotel. Would you mind sharing the name of the hotel you stayed at and the price range. We may be stuck in tradition but always stay at Embassy Suites since we are so familiar with the area and close by Grocery and Shopping Centers.
  20. Agree. I recently had one in Portugal and was about $700 but it was a very customized tour and included a driver and admission, tolls etc. It turned out to be well worth the cost. On the other side we booked a 1/2 day tour with Private Journey in the Caribbean and it was only $325.
  21. You pay the same rate usually for 2 as you would with 4 and there may be a surcharge for 6 and 8. You can then list the tour on your Roll Call will find people that want to join you. You may have to foot the bill at first but I've also joined tours and volunteered to send a check for my part month in advance.
  22. I think it depends on where your room is on 9. I've had some that were very quiet and in October had an accessible Sky Suite (which I won on a move up) adjacent to the glass elevators. It was generally quiet except a couple times a day when the house band was playing a 50 minute set at the pool. You could definitely hear the music in your room with the door closed. Plan on the worst cabin in the class and you won't be disappointed. If you go to a site called Cruise Deck Plan the have a small hidden tool near the bottom right corner. It is called Cabin Checker. You first select Summit then go to the bottom - Useful Links and choose CABIN CHECK TOOL - They also have an obstructed room virtual tour. Enter Room Number and it will show you what is both above your room and what's below it
  23. Respectfully would disagree. If you booked with an agent and then book while aboard it automatically is assigned to the agent that booked the cruise you are on unless you specifically ask and sign a form. I unfortunately found out the hard way. I had fired my TA because she stiffed me on the promised OBC and when I booked it went to her and then I had to call her to have her transfer it back to me so I could transfer to my new agent.
  24. Sorry to hear they are missing. I have mixed feelings on the U.S. dropping the testing requirements. But most of EU has also dropped testing requirements. With no testing requirements and no isolation requirements in places like the U.K and other countries.. There will obviously be people on the flights (but I guess even with testing they would also be on the flight) and without masking requirements I suspect some will be infected. Oh well.... I guess it's the new norm. Maybe heard immunity is the way to beat this disease or maybe we learn to live with it like the Flu.
  25. We also took the 1B and loved it. We were really lucky and the afternoon we arrived at Denali it was crystal clear and beautiful. The Driver pulled over for a group picture and the Guide said when you see your guides taking pictures you know it's a spectacular day. The next day for our visit it was overcast, drizzly and you couldn't even see the mountain so considered yourself lucky. We sill enjoyed our visit and saw Bears, Wolves, Goats etc etc.while on the extended tour which I would recommend.
