  1. If really concerned about security you could consider a small cable locking system - It would probably deter someone just walking away with it. Available on Amazon (click Amazon for link) for about $15.
  2. Ahh... I remember those days back in the day (well maybe years) of Olympic Champagne Tea with Harp Music.
  3. Definitely agree with you. I have a couple booking as far out as 2024 and was considering changing from a Refundable Deposit to a NR today only to find out the prices had gone up by more than $6,000 so happy to stick with our Refundable and hope for a price drop near sail date. I've just considered the cost of the Refundable was so high that if you booked a cruise while onboard with as little as $200 deposit it's worth the risk of possibly saving $1,500. I'm sure both you and I will be sailing into our 90's. We can have wheelchair races.
  4. It will cost you $100 pp per change that you make so could be expensive for 10 cruises. By the new policy I think you can either change to a different sailing or get a FCC less the $100 pp. Currently (until the new deadline date) you could get a refund instead of a FCC.
  5. I may have called the same number as you. When I originally got a call from them it came back on my phone as one of the Zenith Reps. I called that number but didn't want to post it as it's restricted. I hope we both get our refunds back quickly. They certainly made it easiest enough. Hope you are both doing well and back to cruising again soon.
  6. When I see your handle - I imagine you sitting back sipping a cup of tea.
  7. The number I posted was from an email I received from my agent at the Engagement Center. I'm sure they have more than one. I usually just all the non-800 number it seems to go through quicker. When I spoke to them today they confirmed he had submitted everything and expect to see it in 14 to 21 days. BTW they refunded taxes and Port fees on a separate refund that came through 3 weeks ago. I didn't even realize until I checked my credit card. I tested positive the day before your husband.
  8. It's usually applied on the Second Morning. You can't use it in advance to purchase anything but an alternative is to purchase it on your credit card and once aboard go to guest relations and have them credit the Credit Card Charge and reapply your OBC.
  9. Personally I find it easiest to just dispute in on Credit Card and I get immediate temporary credit and it's eventually worked out.
  10. Recently on all my web searches the price shown is the NR rate. When you go to the first screen in the booking process it give you the option of paying more for Refundable Deposit and also to add Cruise Care Insurance. The NR additional fee is based on the price of the cruise and runs around .8% For me I book NR. If you change or cancel they charge a fee of $100 pp and you can just move the remainder to a new booking.
  11. Out of curiosity I checked a PH that I have an eye on for a New England Cruise - Yesterday - price for 2 13,287 pp or 26,475 - Today 37,143.82
  12. Sorry to hear you also tested positive. There are a couple different protocols depending on when your ship departed and whether it was a European and Southampton Sailing or the U.S. Most of the reimbursement in europe ended between May 1 and May 15. I tested positive in Southampton on April 29 and am currently working my claim. In my case they covered 5 days hotel even though we tested positive for 11 days. Actual receipts required for food reimbursements. Policy is found here: https://www.celebritycruises.com/content/dam/celebrity/pdf/cel-covid-19-cancellations-and-refunds-policy.pdf My understanding was the reimbursement of $250/day for land based quarantine and the $100 pp per day ended in Europe for sailings about the middle of May. Instead guest could stay aboard at celebrity's expense until quarantine ends. Claims are filed via Engagement Center -
  13. Speaking from experience the net will come out pretty close to the same. I have a couple booked at last years 50% of second guest. They upped the price for the first guest and then dropped it for the second. Later for price matches once it was the same for both guest it came it pretty close to the same. Just another shell game by Celebrity. Sometimes you do find a good deal and even a good opportunity for price matching so do some mock bookings.
  14. I also had a number of them and found you can just ask your Travel Agent if booked with one and they can run a report showing all open FCC's. I found 3 this way. I've also been told that if booked with Celebrity the agent can also run a report. The report shows the FCC # an the dollar amount of each.
  15. Sorry to hear they didn't have it on Eclipse. Since resumption of cruising they have had it on Millennium, Solstice and Silhouette cruises we have been on in the Ocean View. I don't recall seeing the special one they use to have in a Specialty.
  16. Interesting to hear about not having to upload certificate. The strange thing was when we were the first Celebrity Ship to Bermuda on the TA we all had our certificates but were never asked for them after boarding when we arrived in Bermuda.
  17. Not yet at to my knowledge it has not been scheduled yet until Celebrity returns to a positive cash flow.
  18. I hope you don't stir up a hornet's nest. Usually when someone ask there is a big debate on what High Tea is and isn't. If I recall they have a self service "Tea" at about 3:00 - 3:30. They have finger sandwiches, scones Jam and Usually Whipped Cream. Small pastries etc. If in a Suite they serve tea in the Retreat and is a bit more upscale I'm sure it isn't like Cunard that serves a sit down Tea, Sandwiches and Sweets on a trivet.
  19. Personally I would choose the earliest time available and then you will be covered if you arrive later. If you get a later time you may have to wait to board if you arrive too early. From previous experience baggage takes about 30-60 minutes and the drive to port is 45 minutes.
  20. Celebrity carries a line of Nonalcoholic wines - Fre by Sutter Home. They have a Bubbly, White, Rose and Red. They also have a couple of non-alcoholic beers O'Doule, Heineken Zero (sometimes) They have a menu of non-alcoholic drinks called Zero Proof but also just ask at any bar and specify you package and they will make recommendations.
  21. Hi Stan - Sounds like things are moving along. OBC - goes away as your cruise was cancelled it was a part of your original booking - it was a perk of your original booking and has no cash value. Cruise Fare - For me they are refunding my fare to any credit card I wanted. They issued 3 credits to credit cards (2 of which I have never heard of) One which I do recognize was for the Taxes and Port fee but they issued $350 and $350 to cards I don't recognize. Working on those and the full refund which I haven't seen yet.
  22. It's not just Celebrity -- blame it on Covid - too many people at home drinking, drank up almost the complete inventory worldwide. Diageo PLC said soaring pandemic demand is depleting stocks of Crown Royal whisky, Lagavulin Scotch and Don Julio tequila. These bestselling brands can take months or years to age before hitting liquor-store shelves, making it hard to quickly increase production.
  23. They will usually open up for booking around final payment date in the range of 90-120 days prior to cruises. I checked my August 21 cruise on Summit (no Murano) and Tuscan is available for booking. 1st night at discounted prices are already sold out.
  24. They will have to be able to answer the question - Have you tested positive within the last 10 days and Have you been in contact with someone that tested positive in the past 10 days. Personally when we tested positive (antigen test) we continued to test positive for 11 days so needed a COR to get back to the US. In your Parents Case - like some have suggested have them get a PCR test while still positive, if they already haven't and you will be able to use a Certificate of Recovery 11 days from the date of the Positive PCR Test (antigen test not allowed for Celebrity). They then use the COR in lieu of a negative test. Some people continue to test positive for weeks or months after contracting Covid.
