  1. Good to hear. Got back from an Indy cruise on Friday and I moved our cabin twice within a week of sailing, no problem whatsoever.
  2. Playmakers has never once been busy for either lunch or dinner on my 11 days on Indy in the past few months (no major sporting events during those cruises). As others have mentioned, you're comparing apples and oranges here. $9 burgers (love them plus the garlic parm fries), wings, etc. in a sports bar vs. an Italian restaurant that costs $40-50pp for dinner.
  3. This. Personally, we don't get off in Nassau, been there too many times and not big fans. We've done several short Indy cruises in the past few months just to go to Cococay and spend time on the ship. Just got off of her yesterday, in fact.
  4. Just got off Indy this morning and had a great time as always. That said... Allure for me and it's not even close. Huge fan of Cococay and prefer Oasis class to Freedom (although I obviously enjoy both). The only part I'd prefer Indy for is the extra day.
  5. I’m not an MDR fan & wife is so picky she used to order the same boring standby items (caesar salad & chicken breast) so often we mostly stopped going when not with extended family. We’re finishing up a 4-night Indy cruise right now & tonight was our only dinner there. Think we also only ate there once during our 7-nights on Indy in July. We’ve had some excellent WJ dinners in the past & some less so. The cook to order station is usually a big factor as picky wife can create her dish & it’s certainly going to come out hot & freshly made. To each his own. Even if you’re in the minority there will always be other cruisers who have similar opinions.
  6. Yep, I swell up so badly I take water pills when I cruise now, and the first few lbs. always come right off anyway.
  7. Giovanni’s Table has always been our fav. We cruise frugally, rarely pay for extras, but will always eat there if available. Having dinner there tonight on Indy in fact! Wife & I both love the filet. Many people feel it’s better than Chops.
  8. Thanks. Fun horn battle b/t the two. Mariner left first & we had to make a 3-point turn.
  9. Glad I didn’t make my own list… no Pitch at Playmakers for me, they’re out of Midori on Indy. 😭 Wound up with a very strong Long Beach Ice Tea & realized I don’t have the patience for taking pics of every drink. Thanks again John.
  10. Safe trip home, John. Thanks as always for the review. We'll be leaving for PC in a little while. I always consider doing a nightly recap type "live report" but never wind up doing it. Maybe this time focusing on food and drink.
  11. Mine isn't fully updated for my Indy cruise tomorrow. It was similar in July. Not unexpected.
  12. It's your life and you do what makes you happy, no judgment, but almost everything is easier if you just leave your phone on (in airplane mode of course) and use the app onboard. Yes, you can check your charges on the TV (easier/quicker on the app). You can make reservations on the app as soon as you're connected to the ship wifi, so unless you get a signal from the terminal, you can't if your phones are off once you board. Muster much easier with app; you can watch the videos before you board though. Cabin phones probably have a clock... much easier to see on your own phone. As a planner, you can also keep a calendar of your plans in the app. Again, no judgment, just some food for thought in case you want to reconsider turning your phone off.
  13. Our family of 8 (6 adults) reordered these on Harmony 3-4x for the table we liked them so much! Big fan of the jalapeño margarita too & of course the guac. Ate so many chips/guac & apps that I didn’t care that I didn’t love my burrito. Would get the steak if there’s a next time. Thanks for the food porn. 😋
  14. You get everything except double points (assuming you were previously booked below a JS).
  15. Shameful! As you should be. Playmakers-related question... have they been showing the Phillies/Padres series? Just in case my Phils don't close it out in 5, we were already planning to eat dinner there Monday night which would be game 6.
  16. My average weight gain is 10-12 lbs. per 7-night cruise and I'm not a big guy whatsoever. 🐷 OINK OINK!
  17. Leave her home. I don't mean to sound cold, and for full disclosure, I have no kids. I just don't see a child that young being able to appreciate a cruise. Not saying she won't enjoy herself, but she's too young to enjoy herself BECAUSE it's a cruise, IMO. (I'll leave out selfish reasons like alone time, being free to do what you want, etc.) I cruised with my niece when she was 2 or 3. My memories are that all she wanted to do was ride the carousel on whichever Oasis class ship it was 24/7. Oh, and when Shrek came around the MDR for breakfast (this was when RC partnered with Dreamworks) she cried and hid under the table b/c she was scared of him. 🙈 I have since sailed with both my nieces as they got older and they were actually able to enjoy cruising once they got a bit older... kids splash area, water slides, getting virgin drinks at the bar, some of the shows, the food, etc.
  18. I’ve never had a problem with just flip flops/beach sandals. Same for my wife & she usually snorkels on Chill Beach before we settle in by the pool.
