  1. I agree travel insurance is important with the current travel environment.
  2. Thanks. Wonder if he will be switching to the Pride once it returns to Baltimore sailings in April.
  3. Is Ken the current Maitre'd on the Legend? Thanks
  4. We have had two great PVP since the early 2000s. When my first PVP was promoted, they assigned us a new PVP and he reached out to us for an introduction. He has been great too! I like having a connect person if an issue would arise. I have had some bad experiences with travel agents, can't seem to find a good one.
  5. We have been using a PVP for most of our cruises (nearly 20 hrs) and never received any kind of gift or bonus. I thought about switching to a travel agent but didn't think it would be worth the time. Not sure if we are missing anything.
  6. I would like to see CCL continue the recycling of the older names. So, I would go with Carnivale, Festivale and Tropical for the next three new ships orders. I hope some smaller ships are in the corporate plans in the coming years like RCCL.
  7. I like this idea of additional Hub App functionally and would like to see the ability to save picture, notes and etc. of certain events each day or you participate in while cruising for review after the cruise. This would be like a memory photo books or cruise videos CCL sold in the past.
  8. I don't smoke or like smoking but don't think it will be any time soon when smoking is totally prohibited. The area that may cause a shift is if the cruise lines see a decrease in the profits from the smoking section of the casino. I have recently traveled abroad, and in other countries (many of where the crew live) smoking is still accepted as a social norm. With that said, I would be happy if smoking was prohibited.
  9. Once we cruised connecting staterooms, we knew we found a winning setup for future cruises. As you said two bathrooms and some space to separate was always good. We kept the connecting interior door open all the time. We also had the balcony partition opened too when able. From what I can see on the ship plan, there is only two connecting Family Harbor interior staterooms (4362/4358) but may be incorrect.
  10. We did not have any issues using the app for submission or receiving our OBO. You should blackout your account number, other stocks you own, the value of your account, etc. They only need to see the CCL stock you own and the account owner's name. Our stock ownership OBC was added to our OBC that we received as part of a promotion when we purchased the cruise.
  11. Here are a few additional changes made to the Pride. 1. Dream's Studio added 2. Heroes Tribute Bar replaced the SkyBox Bar 3. Carnival Adventures Shop replaced the game room 4. Spa Carnival was rebranded to Cloud 9 Spa 5. General hotel updates
  12. Update, our $100 credit was added to our cruise today, seven days after submission.
  13. I read somewhere that RCCL has stated they are looking at new builds of smaller ships. I hope this forecast for smaller future builds will be in CCL's extended operations plan.
  14. I downloaded the app and processed my request on 1/2/2024 with a redacted copy of my stock statement, removing my account number and other holdings. On 1/5 I received my validated approval from Stockperks and completed the redemption process. I'm currently waiting for CCL to apply it to my upcoming cruise. I have a Google 6 phone and didn't have any issues with the app.
  15. In my opinion along with a cruise day count and dollars spent system, any guest above the first two in a stateroom should receive a reduced count/benefit.
  16. It will be interesting to see how they define the levels. They may add point for dollars spent similar to the casino offerings or a combination of sailings and dollars spent. I believe a level or two may be add while adding days to achieve diamond. I can see the addition of discounted item vs free so they are giving a "benefit" but the cost is covered.
  17. Based on JH FB page changes are coming in 2024, the questions are when and what changes. May include additional levels, reduced or free internet based on your level, reduce prices to specialty dinning based on your level. My guess, since there are virtually no costs to perks like priority boarding/debarkation, priority water shuttle access, etc. these will remain. Some may be perceived as negative and I truly hope more positive, but in this cost cutting environment we are currently in, who knows. We just have to wait and see. Anyway, we enjoy cruising.
  18. When we started to cruise you purchased minutes and we never purchased internet packages until our last few cruises. We purchased the Social package at $5/day. At $15/day I will be going back to my early days and not purchase internet access for 7 days and use the time to relax and enjoy my 7 days on the high seas away for a screen.
  19. We have sailed staying in a midship balcony cabin without a noise issue. The cabin was located over the Photo shop. If you select a stateroom over the Fun Shops, I think it should be fine. If possible, I would stay away from the piano bar area. Also, if you select a cabin toward the ends of the lifeboats, you should have access to see beyond them. Examples: Cabin #s, 4148 and 4149.
  20. When CCL started the three levels of internet access the Social package was $5/day. I purchased every cruise to stay in contact with the family. I think the Social package at $15/day is a bit steep since you cannot access "most websites, email, video and music streaming services (i.e., Netflix, Hulu, Spotify, Pandora), iMessage, Skype, cellular-network-dependent Wi-Fi calling and FaceTime services." Maybe they will adjust their plans in the future or include it as a VIFP benefit for a reduced price or maybe even free. I don't think free would be in their plans.
  21. Spirit class of CCL's ships is our favorite class. I wonder how strong CCL will be committed to maintain their long-term presence at the departure ports that can only service the smaller ships like the Spirit and Fantasy class of ships extending their access points across the country. If CCL replaces their older and smaller ships with mega ships the ports like Baltimore may no longer be part of their operational and marketing plans. If so, I hope upstart or smaller cruise lines fill the void.
  22. If I recall correctly, CCL's contract is coming to an end with Baltimore. I hope CCL keeps extending the contract in Baltimore. I believe they do a good business sailing from that port. If CCL decides to keep all the remote ports that they are using, I hope they decide to invest in new ships that can sail from ports with size limitations. We love the Pride and Spirit class ships!
  23. Also, I think Roll Calls were used for this too.
  24. Prior to the COVID Cruise Critic CCL forum had many more followers. I recall somewhere between 1,300 to 1,500 followers on any given day, I missed the activity on this forum. Today, 361 followers and fewer roll calls, etc.
