  1. you mean - the cruise price itself didn't shock you at all? just the drink packages?
  2. yes, you can go directly to arrival time picking, and then check in.
  3. the only way to ensure the safety of your car seat is to use it on the plane. It's really not that difficult. You've seen videos of ground crew handling luggage... They do no better with car seats.
  4. a child without a booster or a car seat will easily fly out of the seat belt. We are talking about a toddler. Granted, mine was on a bigger side, but he was 34# and 37" tall at 2, and 40# and 40" tall at 3 years and 4 months. A seat belt alone will not hold him in an accident, hence, the child is considered unrestrained. You are comparing a 3 year old to an adult sized person....
  5. yes. Do you know why a 6 yo child needs a booster? A booster boosts them to a height at which the seat belt will fit them well enough to save their life. You know, instead of cutting them in half. when the reward is your child's life or them not being disabled for the rest of their life, I think it pays for itself.
  6. I don't think there will be any problems. The child is not unaccompanied, and the parents are on the same cruise.
  7. I'll relive it for you a week from now. 🙂 However, you'll be reliving it in an inside cabin, lol.
  8. Thank you for your review! It is very enjoyable and humorous. I love it!
  9. when you are in the store, the refund is processed at the point of sale. And you are the only person. RCI is processing refunds for thousands, long distance, I'd cut them some slack - they are already screwing up so badly, let them take their time and do this right. 🙂
  10. yes, bubblebum and the child has to be at least 40# and tall enough for a good seat belt fit. A great option for preschoolers and up.
  11. I am talking about taxis and ubers/lyfts. Private vans would apply as well, but not large shuttle buses. On our last cruise after 1.5 hours of waiting for a hotel shuttle, we gave up and took a taxi... Thankfully, our kid has 5-stepped out of the booster about 2 years ago (being 4'9+), so we no longer have to use it. But we brought a booster with us when traveling since he was 4. I'd rather be inconvenienced than regretful. Do others take this risk? Yes, undoubtedly.
  12. my husband's car was totaled about a mile away from our house. He didn't even travel for 5 minutes before his car was t-boned by an unlicensed, uninsured driver. How's that for reality? Didn't even take an hour of driving. If our kid had been in his car unrestrained, what do you think would have happened? Laws of physics apply even if you are on vacation.
  13. if you are not planning on using any taxis or ubers at the port or the destinations, then I'd go without. If you are planning on taking any cars at all, how old, tall and heavy is the toddler? How mature? What seat do you have at home? Do you have a travel seat? Will he or she have her own seat on the plane? I cover these topics a lot in the https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/28-family-cruises/. 14. did you have to sign up in advance or just show up when they opened?
  15. we had 5 pm flights before... We waited on the ship for a max allowed time, then took a taxi, stood in line to drop off luggage (usually within 4 hours beforehand, but Spirit used to be a lot less rigid about it before the pandemic), then went through security, lounged around at FLL, had lunch, read books, browsed internet... It wasn't too bad. Now there is a 2 pm return flight which we enjoy more. Found MCO to be a lot more "lounging before going through security" friendly than FLL. Didn't get to lounge at MIA, so no opinion.
  16. didn't see it on Harmony in 2021 or on Allure in 2022.
  17. no. The machine will only work with a chipped tumbler.
  18. on our very first cruise we booked a 10 am return flight. We barely made it to the gate when they were closing the door. Never again. We now only book 12 pm and later. I don't need this stress - all I get is a migraine. Nor do we want to get up at 6 am for disembarkation and rush out without having a proper breakfast and an unrushed cup of coffee.
  19. I would definitely call RCI and do what S.A.M.J.R. said - change your package to refreshment. If your DH isn't going to break even on his package or you on your, maybe, cancel the deluxe alcohol package and pay for alcohol as DH goes? That would also be an option.
  20. we loved it on the Allure last year! Ordered it for DS, and very unlike him, he finished the entire adult plate!
  21. https://boards.cruisecritic.com/topic/2916876-housekeeping-moving-to-once-a-day/ https://boards.cruisecritic.com/topic/2922976-changes-to-stateroom-cleanings/ https://boards.cruisecritic.com/topic/2924879-housekeeping/ there have been many threads in the last couple of days asking the same questions... These three are just the most recent ones.
  22. I already have 2 Kias. 🙂 And I don't have a problem with kiddie noises.
