I really enjoyed following along on your adventure last January. Your Australia and New Zealand route this year looks fabulous. You’re covering a lot of ground. Would love to do this one someday. Enjoy!!

When do we apply for Nexus renewal?
Travelexpert35 replied to Barwick Cruiser's topic in Canadian Cruisers
I just went through US customs in Toronto on Dec 1 with my Nexus card for the first time in 3 years. I was surprised that when I stepped up to the Nexus machine, they just snapped a picture and that was it. Spoke to a customs agent for a minute and exited the area. Once I went through the exit, I noticed a lot of people sitting in an area waiting for the Nexus interview. I would think you would need a lot of lead time to have the interview and get to your gate. -
To sail or not to sail: that is the question?
Travelexpert35 replied to cachouonacruise's topic in Celebrity Cruises
Personally, I would definitely go ahead with the final payment. Australia and New Zealand are fabulous countries to visit and safe from all of the problems going on in the Middle East. My last cruise was in Feb 2020 and I’ve been itching to cruise again. Unfortunately, my husband is waiting for a hip replacement and my girlfriends don’t seem too interested right now in Caribbean cruising. I will be travelling somewhere soon though, Waikiki, with a girlfriend so I’m a happy camper. Take that cruise….you won’t be disappointed… -
No, we haven’t used it recently. I think our last visit was in 2019 as well. Too bad it’s closed…

We had rented a car from Hertz at the King Kamehameha Hotel right by the pier. It was so convenient. Call Hertz and check it out.

We did a Celebrity cruise from Vancouver to Yokohama with a stop in Sitka in early Sept 2019. It was sunny and warm in Sitka so we had our shorts on. Onboard we wore our shorts during the day as well. Once we arrived in Otaru, Hakodate and Yokohama we still had our shorts on with a light jacket. I had packed capris, jeans, and light jacket. Keep checking the weather to see what those temps will be. Enjoy your trip…we loved Japan and look forward to returning.

Canadian pricing with US cruise outlets
Travelexpert35 replied to Travelexpert35's topic in Canadian Cruisers
Thanks for your reply. The US agency in New Hampshire that I had booked with 4 yrs ago only showed prices in USD not CAD. I realize the cruise lines will accept both but would the group rates apply. -
I know we can’t mention any TA’s on here but was wondering if anyone has gotten Canadian pricing from the NH company. I have used them in the past but only in US dollars. Difficult to reach them to ask so thought someone out there can shed some light.

We’ve been staying at the Ilikai the last few years and love the studio Apts there. It is right beside the Hilton Hawaiian that you are looking at. The prices are more reasonable at the Ilikai. We book it through Waikiki Beach rentals and have had no issues at all. They have the largest balconies, huge heated pool and they are oceanview units. Check it out.

I have a friend on the Westerdam on the Transpacific which left April 24 from Japan heading to Kodiak, Alaska. They are having storms every day, gusts of 80km per hr and she said 40’ waves. Very wild ride for those passengers.

En Route with Hank in Japan and the Westerdam
Travelexpert35 replied to Hlitner's topic in Holland America Line
Hank, Enjoying your posts. I’ve also been following along with some people on the World cruise on the Zuiderdam. The nightlife is hopping on that ship and it seems bars are open later.
