  1. Professional training and good systems should mean all are remembered , and wellcomed back. Why should "retiring" folk be disadvantaged, Cunard should be the height of professionalism as well as friendliness.
  2. Some people love chatting to staff (ourselves) some are quiet. This should make absolutely no difference to the level of service you recieve. I know it's been said, it's just human nature for staff to come to people they know and chat to. However professional training should override this and mean that all recieve the same high level of service. This is differenent to recognising loyalty, which should be part of the system not left to memory, also it's loyalty across all 3 ships that counts, so no member of staff will know this without a system.
  3. I think you missed my point, something like getting the table you want should be taken for granted that's not subtle. Neither should be the fact that a Q1,Q2 butler should serve less suites and have more time to service cabin at exactly time you want. That's just good management. What I was talking about is attention in dining room. It should be done in away that neither the Q1s or anyone else notices.
  4. There is nothing wrong with Q1 , Q2 getting better service, they have paid a lot more. It should also be so subtle that they don't notice it.
  5. New passengers shouldn't have to learn things, it should be duty of MD or head waiter and butler to ask is this your first-time on Cunard / QG and explain everything thing you mention to new passengers on the first lunch and when butler introduces themselves on first afternoon.
  6. Why not they cost the same per day, circa £1000 A night per cabin , so you should get same service . No excuse
  7. My logic is if the best food on the ship is in the pay for dinning, then why go QG.
  8. One would hope you could get any dish from any of the restaurants in QG , or it would make one wonder why pay QG premium. As our main QG draw is food.
  9. I don't think you are blinkered or partisan. But is it worth considering that as a very regular Q.V. passenger, as you say one of the family. This coupled with being in Q1. Then in QG everyone is equal but perhaps some are more equal than others.
  10. Just a simple question that someone may know, how many covers are there in both waiter served restaurants on Arvia and then in buffet. It would be interesting to know the capacity. We could then guess what they'd planned for. I would think that a faster turnover than 2 per night in waiter served restaurants and 3 per night in buffet is pushing it. That means at least circa 2500 covers for a full ship of 6000+. Tried googling it , no luck.
  11. I am very fit, able bodied, athletic, I exercise everyday , run, cycle, windsurf or go to gym in my shed if it's raining , so no outward signs completely the opposite. However since having prostate cancer even though fully cured, I sometimes need to go to loo quickly, a very small problem to pay for being alive. I will use disabled loos if necessary if others are full. I just try to ignore rude comments you sometimes get, but it more often dirty look and mumbling.
  12. No beatings , but they had to write a 100 lines "If you turn up before your scheduled arrival time you may not be let into the terminal" .
  13. Reading thread " live on K316", if you turn up on time you walk straight on. But there was massive queue of early birds.
  14. You'd never get that many people comfortably on a normal balcony 😁
  15. They didn't have mega ships in past with 6000 passengers. The queues outside show many many people are/were arriving very early. If as I said those that arrive on time must be let straight in , if on time is within 30 minutes , then that's 750 people. The terminal would be effectively full with on time people. So never mind which way look at it just no room in terminal for those that arrive more than 30 minutes early. As someone rightly said terminals are not fit for ie big enough for mega ships. Only workable solution is for people to come roughly on time.
  16. So you let the earlies in to sit down and the on times wait outside !!
  17. Or it could be that terminals can accommodate 1000 people at one time and there are 6000 on full bigger ships. A problem. 1000 people is less than one hours flow. Most airports can accomodate 4 or 5 hours worth Size matters A
  18. P&O should issue an immediate edict, that anyone arriving on time and that should be clear that it means within 15 minutea of boarding time Must be let in. No question
  19. My first post was a general comment about not coming early , I did not read your earlier post , just your answer to my train time post You arrived on time. Clearly if you arrive on time you should immediately be let inside. You were very badly treated by P&O. Everyone who arrives on time , and 15 minutes early is on time should never have to wait outside. This is something P&O must address urgently. No one is arguing that people who arrive on time should ever , ever wait outside. Perhaps if they did not have to cope with all the very early arrivals, they would not make such errors. However that is NO excuse for what happened to you, you were let dowm by P&O
  20. Therefore my comments about train times don't apply to anyone like you coming day before. You can wait in the comfort of your hotel till just before boarding time.
  21. Passengers should be able to make an decent educated guess at the boarding time. If in doubt a little bit later rather than earlier Suite , Liguirian , Baltic 12.00 Carribean , mini suite before 1pm Others not before 2pm could be later So if you are not in a Suite or do not have peninsula priority then get the train that arrives at 3pm and walk straight in. Don't get the train that arrives at noon and hope to get in early.
  22. Having read this and similiar about booking speciality restaurants, I will take advice and wait up till midnight. However as has been said it's a major palavar and uncertainty. Will definitely put me Off booking with P&O again.
  23. Once you get to Fred's prices Saga is a very serious contender. A bit more expensive much better in many respects. Biggest problem with Saga is half their cruises go out of Dover or Tilbury which is a pain if you don't live in London or South East.
  24. I don't worry as long as it is sensible, we live 5 hours away so would question an afternoon pick up. Apart from that the nice thing is it's Saga's responsibility to get us to ship and their problem if we are late.
