Adventure of the Seas - August 12, 2023
Sea Dog replied to blondcat's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Sorry I'm late but so excited to hear your thoughts on Adventure as we will be on her this October for the same itinerary. You mentioned that you did not care for Giovanni's, could you elaborate on what you did not like? Most of my experiences at Giovanni's has been great but I have not eaten at Giovannis on Adventure. Glad to hear Chops was good. we will eating there too. Curious how you thought the staff was and do the bars seem to have good stock of high end liquors especially bourbon and whiskey. If you have been to the Schooner Bar how was it? That's my usual hang out spot. Good bartenders? Thanks for this review! Cheers, Sea Dog -
Thank you! I want to watch that series. When I had my first knee replacement I was very concerned about getting hooked on pain meds. I was relieved in that I felt like I wanted to get off pain meds more than stay on them. I did not like the drugged out feeling they gave me. I would almost want to deal with more pain than feel out of it. I like control of my senses.

Thanks for the update. I would do whatever pain med gives you relief. I've had them all. Great that your doctors have been so accommodating. When I had my knee replacement I had morphine and a bunch of other drugs. The only thing it did was make me so drowsy I went to sleep but did not do a lot for pain.

I am so excited. Ended up offsetting the increased cost of the charter boat today with a sale with our Southwest Airlines tickets. The reduced fare saved us $500. Woot woot! The knee is rebelling today after the injection. So sore and painful I can barely walk. Research shows this is common for the first 48 hours. Took a hydrocodone last night and it did nothing for the pain.

Great to see you are back in the saddle. Good honest comments. Yes MTD is a mess. -
Also some more good news to share. After having my Jost Van Dyke excursion cancelled by the vendor. Myself and CC Friends of Bella members @jmh2006, @Momof3gurlz and @Husky1987 are joining together to charter a boat to take us White Bay and Jost Van Dyke for a fun excursion. Just got the confirmation booking so I hope to go into a lot of detail on my review about this one. Stay tuned.

Thanks everyone for your well wishes for my injection today. Just got back and I'm very sore. They ended up poking me with 3 needles. One for deadening, hurt a little, one for taking fluid off my knee a longer needle that hurt more ( they got 8ml of fluid out) and then finally the hylauronic acid ""Monovisc" which really hurt as he got that needle deep into the joint. It will take a few days to a week for it to take affect. Let's hope this get's me through my Adventure cruise so I can have a great time because a week after I get back I go under the knife for total knee replacement and then it will be a year of rehab, pain and struggle but I am determined and look forward to cruises in April and next October. Cheers!
