  1. That is extremely disappointing not to mention against fleet wide policy .
  2. I feel so bad for you. Hopefully with time you will be able to make it as a tribute to your mom to honor her memory.
  3. Thanks. Yes I wish I could play more but look at it as an opportunity to work on my music where I do a lot of drum programming via keyboards and samples.
  4. Not as much on drums but I still play a lot of keyboards in my studio. Playing drums all these years I have back problems and arthritis in my hands.
  5. Great start to your review. I will be following along. Hey question as I'm curious what do you do with the dogs while away? Board them, Have a house sitter?
  6. Wow! I just looked him up and watched some of his you tube videos. What an incredible musician. I'm sorry he passed away. At least his music is here to stay forever.
  7. That's great. I'm sorry you having problems. I'm just waiting for ours to give out. It's the original when we had the house built 24 years ago. I'm amazed it has lasted this long. You are welcome. I usually don't post videos of myself playing because I don't want to appear narcissistic and egotistical. The other thing is I'm very hard on myself and hate seeing mistakes that I make. But I do it to try and improve myself. Thanks Lenny Yes you could tell he is still affected by grief which is so understandable. Ha deal!!!! How cool. What was his name? My best friend from high school who I had a band with still plays down at the Salty Dog Cafe in Hilton Head. He once did a stint on "Song of America" cruising around Hawaii.
  8. I'm finishing up my Christmas music compilation mix right now. I'll start decorating day after Halloween since I love that holiday too. Here is the video. This is the WCC Big Band that I played in about 10 years ago. We recorded a Christmas album. I set up a camera in the drum booth because I am picky about analyzing my playing looking for ways to improve. You will notice I'm looking a lot to the left. The camera does not show the chart I am reading. Yes drummers have sheet music too. The chart shows me all the brass rhythms that I will sometimes accent or do a fill as as a setup. I'll never forget the look on Capt. Lee's face after he was told the last two charters had cancelled. The was a real look of horror about the pandemic. See above.
  9. Tonight Cruizin’ with cocktails with Below Deck Med. Tonight a French Manhattan. French Manhattan 1.5 oz Cognac 1.5 oz Sweet Vermouth 1/4 oz Grand Marnier or Cointreau 1 dash Angostura 1Dash Orange Bitters Cherry Garnish
  10. I do too. Jazz is my favorite to play as a drummer and especially Big Band. I was lucky to play with several big bands over my career as a pro. Remind me near Christmas and I’ll post a video of me playing “Greensleeves.” In the recording studio.
  11. I read that before. He even at the request of Buddy Rich's daughter played on an album called "Burning For Buddy." Here is a clip of Neil playing with the Buddy Rich Big Band on a tune called "Cottontale." Karen was a fabulous drummer and said it depressed her when people would not take her drumming skills seriously. Horrible list and ridiculous to even have a list. All are excellent drummers that are completely different in their own styles and techniques. I was so obsessed with the drum solo in "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida," that I wrote it out note for note. I like this one from their first television special.
  12. Blasphemy! I don't put much stock in magazines that try and rate artists. They are all different. You can't compare, plus as time goes technique advances. The drummers now can do things that drummers 20 years could not do. I think if you ask any drummer who is knowledgeable about the history of drumming would say that Buddy Rich is the greatest drummer of all time.
  13. So glad I posed this question for advice. That is an excellent idea. Now are Lobster tails still an up charge in Chops even if you have the UDP? Also I've heard it's hit or miss if Chops will give you the free tails that they serve in the MDR on lobster night. I am going to include those in my review. Even though my main focus is UDP I want to cover all our experiences on this cruise. Looking forward to Krazy Lobster. Funny she and I have talked about our approaches to trips. We think a like. I am very anal (Can I say that?) and detail oriented so seeing everything down on paper helps me think of my planning. I do know that everything I plan can fall apart and I do have to just go with the flow. It's just a roadmap for me knowing that there are many things that can get me in the right direction. My wife is like that but she knows to just let me do my thing. I do have realistic expectations that everything could change and that I have to adapt. Seeing it helps my brain be organized enough that if changes arise I can look and see what needs to be adjusted.
  14. As many of you already know I'm planning on doing a semi live of our UDP on Symphony next month. So part of my planning is to create a schedule which includes all the restaurants we want and dining times. I know that I have to be fluid and flexible and even may have to move some restaurants around but I am interested in knowing what you think? I basically have all the restaurants covered. I figured we would eat at CP 150 twice just because we really like it and it has a great menu. Thoughts? Anything you would do different?
  15. I've done the email request and was granted a table by the window. I will add however it doesn't do much good because by the time you eat dinner it's dark out and can't see anything anyway.
  16. That's awesome I'm so glad you liked it. I have not tried the 1884 yet but I can tell you the 1956 is incredible. I plan on picking up a bottle of 1884 to compare. I hope you can find some bottles where you live.
  17. I'll say you deserved it after your hard day. Good you are doing the elevated seat for her. We got one of those for me when I had my knee replacement. I don't know why they make toilets so darn low. I'm thinking of getting some of mine replaced to a higher one. Yep I am ready. I'd start packing if I didn't think it would be a dumb idea. I hope 29 days goes fast.
  18. Great review I loved every bit of it. I would of gone crazy on the train with it being so hot. I need to get back to Venice. We were there only for a day and didn’t see much. It looks like there is so much to see. Again thanks for taking us along with you. Well done Wayne.
  19. Thanks for your observations. The Sorrento’s issues seem very odd. Happy Anniversary wished to John and Sharon. I hope your celebration was a great one. Cheers to you two today. That is amazing. I need to go to that museum. Winner… winner… chicken dinner! I was so sad when Neil died he was one of my favorites. A true virtuoso.
  20. I find a lot of them here: https://www.monstersandcritics.com/tag/below-deck/ I agree I would like to see her again too. She an amazing chef.
