  1. FYI, the antigen tests have about a 30% false negative rate from what I have read. The PCR tests are much more accurate. If we test positive before our upcoming cruise will just take the money and do a land vacation.
  2. There are two excursions that I would like to book in the same day. They are 90 minutes apart and I just want to make sure that is sufficient time just in case the first excursion runs a little late.
  3. Empress of the seas but it was sold.
  4. Been there twice, once by cruise and once driving. I think it is a walking town, however I walk a lot. In a city like Charleston if you don't walk you miss a lot. There is a lot to see. Some of the historic houses offer tours, I think these can be booked in advance. I would recommend at least one house tour. I would do a general internet search for walking tours of Charleston. You can do a self-guided one or there are tours that are led (either through the cruise ship or book your own. People also take carriage rides. The food is also very, very good (however I thought it was a little salty). The restaurants do get busy, reservations are highly suggested and should be made well in advance. FYI, the NPS does a boat ride to Fort Sumter, I've done it. Unless you are a really big fan of civil war era forts not sure it is worth it given you will probably have time constraints. This can be booked in advance. The historic city market is worth a walk through and near where the ships doc. There is also a more upscale shopping street. Also, nice to see is the pineapple fountain in the waterfront park.
  5. The refreshment package is only worth it if you fully use it. If you are only looking for water you can pre-order a case of water that they will put in your room on embarkation day. Not sure if they are switching over to cans from plastic bottles.
  6. sometimes they use 2 punches for a double expresso, I think it depends on the person manning the register. Also, the 50% off refers to the regular coffee that they will charge for (not in the dinning rooms but at the Barrister).
  7. It is not in the cruise planner however the app shows there is a Chef's Table option for nights 1 and 2. Any idea if this might be real or if the app just has a problem? Also, the menu looks interesting, is the food usually good?

I read that Rum Bum Beach Bar lost the concession at this beach. Does anyone know if someone has taken over?

    Day passes

I was wondering if there are any other hotels on the south shore that offer day passes?
  11. It looks like Royal's website is also having trouble.
  12. Yes, hopefully a temporary glitch.
  13. I have the unopened test and would like some detailed instructions if you wouldn't mind. The only thing the card says is scan the QR code. There are 2 QR codes on the box, one printed on the front that says download the Navica App. There is also one on the back printed on a label attached to the box. Also, do I need to make an appointment in advance? Not even sure what questions I need to ask. Any help will be most appreciated.
  14. You can't use the free government tests for travel because they are not proctored.
  15. This is from my guest ticket booklet so I am guessing it is official, at least I would argue it: Guests are not allowed to bring beer or hard liquor onboard for consumption or any other use. Guests wishing to bring personal wine onboard with them embarkation day may do so, limited to two (2) bottles per guest, but when consumed in any shipboard restaurant, bar or dining venue, each bottle shall be subject to a corkage fee of $25.00. A corkage fee does not apply to guests with a Classic Beverage Package or Premium Beverage Package.
  16. Yes, and there were armed guards there when we stopped in February on Anthem. By the way on that cruise they switched the itinerary and then switched it back. That said I actually liked Labadee better then Coco Cay. To each his own.
  17. If you really want good wine at a reasonable price bring it with you. The wine by the glass is OK, usually not good, and wine by the bottle is typically overpriced.
  18. Not sure of the issue if you have 2 sea days why aren't you within the window allowed by Bermuda? You are within the 4 day window.
  19. At this point maybe the home WOW, maybe the home tests Celebrity and Royal sells is a better option.
  20. Not really. The walk is not that easy and getting in and out looks difficult. We were there on our last trip to Bermuda and I forgot my water shoes and did not want to give it a try in bare feet. For those in good shape it is probably worth the effort. I think there used to be a tour group that included it as one of their stops.
  21. Interesting, here in NJ, YESTERDAY I was able to look 1 week out to schedule a rapid NAAT test, now only 3 days out.
  22. I was wondering how much they charge in the minute clinic if you see a medical provider?
  23. Did find 2 places on Celebrity site that lists NAAT. Accepted COVID-19 Tests | Celebrity Cruises Health & Safety FAQs: Find Answers Online | Celebrity Cruises
