  1. Watching the news last night as the Princess ship docked in Melbourne I was disappointed that they focused on a driver saying his company would not be picking anybody up from the ship. as in Australia you do not have to isolate if positive then they probably drive Covid positive people every day of the week as there are more than 20,000 cases, in Victoria. If the driver wears a mask and passengers do the same surely that limits spread. this is with us for a long time. Eileen
  2. Loved it. Luckily there was no problems at the time we visited. Although it was during Jewish holidays and it was very busy. we have done Israel before so we did some diffferent excursions but on a few excursions pax got lost. That was why ship excursions were a good idea. eileen
  3. We were on Odyssey on the Med and really like it. Prior to that we were on Wonder but preferred Odyssey. do not think either ship was full so plenty of room. eileen
  4. Same has been said here..Black Friday has related to really terrific Bush fires in OZ. Eileen
  5. I think electronic goods are a good buy in the sales. I have been checking my cruises and have found none are any cheaper than I paid for them. in fact having a look at Norwegian where they say the 2nd partner sails for free . I had looked at the same price earlier this year and it is about the same price. I think the prices may be better in the US. EILEEN
  6. Julie, did you even know you had Covid after all those drinks ..,ha ha you have got to laugh…my husband would have gone troppo and I would have had to deal with it!🥶 really the problem is we have a new Covid when we all thought we were moving on with all the vaccines etc. but we will never be over this..,we just have to deal with it. now all I have to deal with is keeping Covid free and also hoping Qantas does not lose our luggage or cancels our flight. we just have to keep calm.👵 eileen
  7. Hi Elise, you are ofcourse correct. It is disappointing as I had been following Julie who had Covid on Coral and was treated really well. we are on Azamara for the Christmas cruise and we are first on at 2.00 so I assume a good cleaning will be done. ofcourse hoping Qantas gets us to Perth. next Christmas on Celebrity to NZ so that should be good. all the best. My husband came back from golf and said one of his golf people got Covid on a recent cruise and were sent to 3rd level from the balcony cabin. I guess you never know what you are in for until it hits you. thanks for all the information you have given, it helps others making decisions. Eileen
  8. Hi our first princess cruise was on the diamond princess more than 10 years ago to NZ. We had persuaded 4 friends to come with us. Our only previous cruise was on Norwegian in Alaska. we had a balcony but no couch or chairs on Princess. I could not believe it as the Norwegian had a couch and lots of little extras like a jug to make coffee or tea. We had brought champagne and nibbles on and we sat on the bed and brought the balcony chairs in for our toasting our first group cruise. I laugh now but we were disappointed at the time. now we cruise Royal Carribean although that always means a trip to Sydney or Brisbane. Now with our free drinks and free washing I am happy with that. I wish you all the best and hope you recover quickly and enjoy the rest of the cruise. please don’t be put of cruising you could have gone to the local pub for dinner and got Covid. eileen
  9. Don’t think it could happen in OZ as voting is compulsory and how could you fine a 16 year old for not voting !
  10. I was interested in MMDownUnder’s news. you don’t have to read it!!🥶
  11. Have been on 3 RCL cruises post Covid. Two in the Med. Both ships had wash sinks before entering the buffet. Staff at the entrance all the time asking you to wash. Only once did I see anybody not washing. Was very happy with that.
  12. Thanks for keeping us up to date. So Covid is on the grand now! we have not heard of any news on Royal Carribean ships or P and O or Carnival? they must have some Covid as well? does anybody know? EILEEN
  13. Really that a ridiculous price. I hope very few people book it. I am sure that online there are better more affordable excursions. Eileen
  14. We have recently come back from Royal Carribean cruises on the Med. On our cruises they did not call them formal nights now, but something like ‘dressed up’. As we were on RC before Covid we noticed that the ship was not bothered if you did not dress up! one thing I will say that on the Med the clientele had change. Previously there were very few African Americans on board. Now there were lots, and did they dress up. They looked magnificent. Beautiful dresses and the men as well with wonderful white tuxedos. I do not know how they managed to get them all packed in their luggage. I mention to a few of the women that they looked absolutely terrific. Unfortunately I was not as well dressed as we changed our luggage in case it got lost, and spread most of it so we had at least one carry one case with three days worth of clothes, in case the airline lost some. They did not. eileen
  15. Hi we are booked on Celebrity edge for Christmas 2023. just had a look at the Celebrity website and it gives a large range of spirits and drinks that are available on the Classic package, which is the one that I think is included in the ‘All included’. But then it also mentions the $9 up to cost. this seems like a contradiction? I also would like to know what is actually included if someone is on Celebrity? thanks Eileen
  16. Yes enjoy Julie…we have had three cruises the Med and UK this summer. Also looking forward to our Christmas/NY cruise on Azamara. My husband today was saying all the media look for is bad news. Never anything good. 🍸🍸🍸 Eileen
  17. Yes it is so good to get to diamond. We also got offered One day each free internet and since we didn’t have to pay for drinks we used the $10 off a bag of washing. Good coffee in the diamond club is included. With the double points, I can’t believe it that we are nearly Diamond Plus. yes treat yourselves, We have all worked hard for many years and am enjoying this cruising life. Eileen
  18. I don’t know..,perhaps because it was a new ship…too much for us to drink..,just took it to our dining room table at night. But much appreciated. Eileen
  19. Hi we are on a short cruise from Brisbane in February. been to Brisbane a number of times. Flying in from Melbourne the day before..,don’t trust the airlines! How are the hotels near the Port. Has anyone stayed at any of them. thanks eileen
  20. Or if you become diamond and each of you get four drinks a day included on your card then you don’t have to buy any!! Also give you six cans(saving plastic) of water when you arrive. On Wonder of the sea they also gave us two bottles of champagne…,I can’t drink any more than that! Eileen 👵🥳
  21. Hi we have an Azamara cruise from Fremantle over Christmas. can’t find anything on the Azamara website, but think that I have read the Australian authorities require a self test. Is this correct? thanks Eileen
  22. Hi i am 75 and have recently completed a couple of cruises in the Med. I took out insurance with Covermore which covered us including Covid. I fortunately do not have any existing issues. I have taken out insurance for a cruise next May but this time I am using my Credit card insurance but since it is an expensive cruise with flights I asked for the upgrade on the credit card insurance which covers cancellation costs as without the upgrade it does not. This is also with Covermore. after August, I think, the credit card insurance covers cruises. reading on CC the boats seem to look after you if you get Covid. hope this helps. Eileen
  23. Hi i have pre purchased Royal Carribean excursions on a Israel cruise recently and was very glad I did. Some pax were left unable to go to their places of interest because the excursions were sold out. we arrived late at the port and some who had booked with other non Royal excursions found they had missed their trips. this may not be the same on an Australian cruise. since Covid people are booking more shore excursions in the Med with the boat! Eileen
  24. Is it mandatory to have a self test rat on all ships embarking in Australia? we have a cruise out of Fremantle in December…Azamara thanks Eileen
