  1. Alaska is part of the United States. Your profile says you're from the US, so you shouldn't need a passport to go to Alaska.
  2. Somewhere in between 2 and 3 days. Im cruising on Saturday (3 days from now). Earlier today I could check prices on the cruise planner, but when I checked just now (11:24pm eastern time), I get this message:
  3. These are helpful for carrying the cups: AUPET Water Bottle Bag Carrier,24oz/32oz Insulated Neoprene Bottle Sling Holder Case Pouch Cover for 1000ML/750ML Bottles with Shoulder Strap for Girls Boys Adults https://a.co/d/0Dli4EM
  4. Generally you should be fine with shorts and sun dresses. But given that Baltimore will be cold, you'll obviously want a warm outfit for the days you're coming and going from there. If it rains on the islands, it's usually a warm rain, so while it's unpleasant to be in the actual rain, you're not gonna freeze. Maybe bring a light jacket for being outside on deck at night, one pair of leggings or a long sleeve shirt (again, for being on deck at night), but otherwise I'd pack summer clothing.
  5. I trust the thing that I can get in writing, because even if it's wrong, it gives you proof. Best thing for this family to have done was assume they were going to have to abide by the most strict protocols to-date. Their oldest child should have been vaccinated, and they should have gotten tested just in case. Had they done that, even if they thought it wasn't needed, this wouldn't have happened.
  6. It's unfortunate the OP didn't find cruise critic sooner. The thing I love about this message board is that it's full of questions like this, and answers come from crowd-sourced information from people who do their research and travel often. Any discrepancies that come up from talking to customer service or from online websites and FAQ's that may not align, are looked into by the masses until a consensus can be made about the answer. And if the information or changes to policies are too new for anyone to be sure about, there's bound to be someone headed onto a ship within days who will figure out the real deal and report back. Every time I cruise (and even in the years that I'm not cruising), I make sure to come here and read the posts so that I can be updated on what's new (and what's not), and I always head off to my cruise confident that I know the rules and know what to expect. People make a lot of jokes about the Diamond, Diamond +, Pinnacle people, but the one thing we all benefit from with their frequent cruiser statuses is the wealth of information that comes from all that cruising, and all that info can be dumped onto cruise critic, sorted out and categorized in a way that helps all of us know what's what. And that's why I love cruise critic. The end.
  7. Thanks for trying to make me feel better guys. I'll let you all know how it goes.
  8. Maybe they'd have a "congratulations" banner for the room or something. My guess is their congratulations banners are decorated for newlyweds. But maybe not. I'm not sure how you get in touch with the people who provide the special occasion decorations, but if you can contact them, ask what their congratulations banners look like, and order a cake for the room. And maybe a bottle of champagne. That would be nice.
  9. That's a relief, I'm gonna hold them to it. I'll report back 😂
  10. So they plan to charge $16.99 + 18% gratuity for each additional lobster tail? That's not gonna go over well 😂
  11. As someone who has spent a lot of time with famous people over the last 25 years of my life, I can assure you that the last thing you want to do is draw attention to this person on their vacation. It will completely ruin your trip, as it will invite unwanted attention, it will be disruptive to them and to the rest of you, leading you to be continually interrupted in every meal and activity that you do, and it will cause the person and possibly others in your party to become reclusive and want to hide out on their vacation. While I understand wanting to celebrate and acknowledge this achievement for your family member, and that's awesome by the way, I don't think you have an understanding of how this could negatively change your vacation experience. I would take others suggestions of doing a specialty dinner or something that can be enjoyed privately by your family, but that doesn't make a big show to the rest of the passengers, unless you want your cruise experience altered in such a way that it won't be as relaxing or as enjoyable as you might envision. Given this is new to you guys, you might find this attention fun for a while, but trust me, having every meal you have in a public setting interrupted, even just for a quick 3 seconds of congratulations gets old very, very quickly, because those 3 seconds from 1 person turns into an hour or 2 when it happens repeatedly for your entire meal. And lastly, this could endanger their safety if it draws the attention of the wrong person. Just a bad idea to make a public show of this in a place where you can't escape, in my experience.
  12. That's a lower price than I've even seen the surf option. If you can get it that cheap now I'd buy it.
  13. I packed a poncho and a swimsuit, which can both get wet 😂
  14. I've been watching the weather too. If it makes you feel any better, the weather said it was pouring rain on the Bahamas over the weekend, but someone who was on the ship there posted a photo showing it was clear, sunny skies all day, so who knows. This is definitely not the ideal time to travel to the Caribbean, and I generally like to go during the summer where even if it's raining, it's still hot, but we're taking a thanksgiving cruise this year, and am prepared for it to rain the whole week.
  15. It's looks pretty good to me. I'll be on Symphony next week, not sure if I'll end up in the MDR because I have the dining package, but if I do I'll be sure to report back. If the weather turns out bad, I'll be far more likely to eat 2 dinners, since I won't need a flat stomach for my bikini, in which case, I'll have my specialty dinner early, then do the 8pm MDR 😂
  16. That's a big factor to have to mentally get over when the weather turns out bad for a trip you book specifically to enjoy sunny warm weather. I don't have to fly as far as you, but it's still a pretty long flight (and mostly it was expensive at $700/person for us because it's a big holiday travel week here in the US). I knew when I booked this trip that it was at the end of hurricane season and that the weather might not be as good as I'm used to (I typically cruise in the summer) but it was the only week I knew my daughter would have a school break where she wasn't also obligated to some other activity or internship. Now I have to hope that the snow that's forecast here doesn't affect my flight out to Florida. It sure would be nice to leave the cold weather and go somewhere warm, but I guess rain is still warmer than snow.
  17. Not so fast, that article linked above stated that we could see a $550 instant savings plus 30% off every guest. How would we have gotten a heads up about a sale that unique and exciting without this thread 😂
  18. Thank you everyone. Sounds like things could really go either way. I'll set my expectations accordingly and just go with the flow. Hoping for sunshine and a good tan, and some floating in the ocean, but I'll settle for 7 lazy days at sea if the weather is bad.
  19. The weather for my western Caribbean cruise during Thanksgiving week looks terrible 😭 40% - 70% rain predicted every day at every port stop (through Tuesday Nov 22nd which is as far in advance as I can see right now). I would convince myself that could mean there's just a possibility of a quick afternoon shower, except that today's Nassau weather shows 70% rain, and it's currently raining right now, with more rain expected in the afternoon. So those 70% rain days aren't looking good. Has anyone been on a cruise where it rained the whole week?
  20. Is this there first breakup? If so, leave her on the reservation. First breakups rarely stick. Have your son find a good friend whose willing to be called off the bench at the last minute as a backup plan.
  21. I was in Italy last month and flew there on Air France which I thought was good. Prices weren't outrageous, flight was comfortable and on time. Their customer service isn't the best if you have to call (you'll be on hold for a looooooong time), but other than that I have no complaints. They're a Delta Airlines partner, so if you have status on Delta they'll recognize it (early boarding and flight upgrades).
  22. I hadn't updated mine and had the same issue. After I went online to check if both my cruises were listed (they were), I went back to the app and they were both suddenly there. But today the second sailing was missing again. So I updated the app, figuring that would probably fix it. It didn't. Second sailing still missing. My activity calendar for my upcoming cruise had more stuff in it though (but still can't book anything, and doubt I'll be able to given my cruise is next week).
