  1. f - why did you go there, yet I do agree fully and practice that approach, often.... LOL Cheers and bon voyage
  2. These are not considered smoothies.... as such, they are included. Cheers and bon voyage
  3. gp - thank you and good to see you as well... I trust you have been off sailing!!! I have been quite busy with family health situations in another state, moving my permanent residence and trying to keep up with everything as before... we know that can go... LOL bon voyage
  4. Yes, they do have computers available, there is a fee to use them... What the fee is, I cannot say as it has been quite sometime since having done that, yet I Am sure someone will be along to let us know... it might be on X's website, too. bon voyage
  5. Because it is MY schedule which I choose to be a slave to (or not) and no one else's (even when sailing with friends)... bon voyage
  6. Which X ship requires a card to have the AC going??? I have been on all classes and never needed a card for the AC... bon voyage
  7. What is the process to get some of these? Who do I need to know??? LOL bon chance and bon voyage
  8. Yet, it can also be "any time dining" by reservation!!! bon appetit and bon voyage
  9. You are absolutely correct, with the exception that there is a third (3rd) option, given the 'fixed' dining times are early and late, some like to dine in between and desire to make a standing reservation for that time or there abouts to insure we can be seated at the preferred time vs just showing up, which is always an option, of course... bon appetit and bon voyage
  10. FT - the currencies I have at the moment are Chase Sapphire and BofA travel card... Which can be transferred, yet do I need to have points in any of the accounts cited, how long must the account be opened before transferring points over... is this wise/advisable? Thank you for your sage input... bon voyage
  11. ft - thank you so much for your generosity and sage input, yet our travel time is a ways off and would be PHL or BWI to BCN return ROM to PHL or BWI. Dates 30 Aug 2023 - 14 Sep 2023. Any information to help me prepare and I think I could save enough using you vs doing it myself.... LOL bon voyage
  12. ft - when shall I forward my info for you to do a search and booking for us??? 😎 Thank you and bon voyage
  13. tr - for some of us, a 'nice hotel' is flying in day of sailing so it is one less expense... LOL Plus, if it costs more than $75/night... meltdown!!!! LOL Then there is the last $100 drop in fare so we can get the corresponding OBC to make up for it... bon voyage
  14. Dining for ten (10) can be a challenge for the servers... I know as I usually travel with a group of ten (10) to 15 friends just about every year. Your goal, as mentioned above, is to have a table for six (6) and four (4) adjacent to each other, that way it is easier on the server, food will be out (reasonably) at one time and conversations will be reasonable without yelling and etc... The way we work it is, each of us know where the tables are and each can sit at whichever table they choose upon arrival. Link the reservations, for sure and set a fixed time to dine that works for everyone and reserve accordingly... bon appetit and bon voyage
  15. Maybe someone needs to remind ALL passengers that X is not the final arbiter of who goes on excursions or not, the vendor is and X is only the conduit through which we can book them. btw: age discrimination will be based on insurance carrier requirements of both X and the providing vendor, with the vendor who has to make the exception, not X... bon voyage
  16. I see no reason to not book through a third party vs having to wait on hold for hours when you have other/better things to do than trying to get an exception to a policy which X has no control over. The examples of those who are fit vs not fit by age group is perfectly valid and support your current desire, yet what has the vendor experienced in its' history dealing with individuals and their fitness who have taken their tour in all age ranges? Reminds me of a previous thread where the person was very overweight (and slightly over the limit for the tour) and the poster wanted an exemption because the person was very 'fit' as well... Okay. Enjoy the tour no matter how you end up taking it... bon voyage
  17. From our experience and knowledge, there are at least two (2) different menus for different evenings. What did they serve, you will want to ask me and I can honestly say I do not remember as I Am vegan and a specific presentation was done for me. The 'on-table' movie was different and entertaining for sure, IMO!!! Would I do it again, likely so if there were friends who had never done it and wanted to try it... Stay with your current reservation and upon boarding go to find out what menu will be used that evening and the other evenings menu. Then change if you decide that the other menu is more to your liking. Do that quickly as LP books up fast... bon appetit and bon voyage
  18. Safe thing to do, IMO, call X to verify... In health and bon voyage
  19. Jim - when cooking at home I suggest that in order to keep all courses 'similar' for example pasta dishes with non-egg pasta and vegetable based red sauce. If you prepare a baked fish dish, press some tofu and bake it in a similar vegan sauce... All in all, do use a lot of salt as opposed to using more of other types of seasonings in the dishes for flavour. Stir fries where you can do the base fry and add any meats or seafood just before serving.... Just a quick sampling of serving ideas... At any rate, enjoy your sailing gents and I look forward to more postings and musings from you... SS
  20. c - there are two (2) ways to do it: 1) ask for the vegetarian menu the night before (many of the items can be made vegan); or 2) if you have a vegan dish you want, let the maitre d' know the night before. For option 2, make sure it is something that is mainstream for the most part, as I asked for some 'different' on my last sailing on The Summit and after getting them I realized that what I wanted and what they could prepare were vastly different but worth the laugh regardless. I generally let the kitchen know that they can prepare whatever they choose each night for me, just as long as it is never the same dish within three (3) nights.. generally that worked out well, too. They will also make the effort to prepare desserts too.... Have any questions, please let me know... bon appetit and bon voyage
  21. LOL, not gluten free... Well, will have to get you up to speed on vegan options to request... possibly!!! bon appetit and bon voyage, Buddy
  22. No Zenith who is vegan, eh??? LOL Other than that, the menu is very nice! Presentation was great, too... bon appetit and bon voyage
  23. Is it too late for me to sign up for this sailing??? It sounds like it will be a blast, even if only for the social gathering... Cheers and bon voyage
