  1. On our March cruise on Riviera, I asked for a few cans of ginger beer from Waves bar to take back to my cabin to make my own Dark& Stormy. Also needed a few lime wedges.
  2. Great pics as always and commentary to match. Try 100 Montaditos for small sandwiches and drinks.
  3. Who ever programs the music on the ships need to look at the age of the majority of their passengers. Most of us are true ‘Baby Boomers’, growing up listening to early rock’n’roll through the British Invasion and into the 70’s. Chuck Berry & Elvis to the Beatles & Stones and to Joni Mitchell and the Eagles. We have seen and heard some swing and big band played in Horizons as a pre-dinner show, with a few people dancing and enjoying their music, not for everyone. If rap is wanted maybe they could do something from Hamilton. On our cruise last month on the Riviera during breakfast we heard Led Zeppelin’s Whole Lotta Love, we dropped our forks and started to laugh. Not exactly music to wake up to
  4. O has a very liberal policy regarding liquor brought on board. Pay the corkage fee for wine brought to the dining venues, and keep the other drinks in your cabin. Don’t try to skirt the rules and ruin it for the rest of us.
  5. For groups of 10 on the Riviera and Marina you might be better off booking Privee. Ordering from Polo and Toscana and their own menus.
  6. Harters, thank you for that, a few you left off the list are “ The Great Chieftain of the Puddin’ Race “ haggis, Christmas pudding and black pudding that you have with your breakfast fry up. Only to add to the confusion.
  7. Harters maybe you could explain the differences for the meaning of ’Pudding’
  8. O could try to make tourtiere, Habitant pea soup, and poutine
  9. YoPhillY what do you mean by the pastas over the top? Is it the pasta itself or the sauces and toppings they use?
  10. The taste for Indian food in the UK comes from years of immigration from the subcontinent after all the years of empire building.
  11. Maybe British Night was fish & chips and Indian takeaway 😂
  12. I should have said that going back into town is easier in the Med. ports. If you have any overnights take advantage of the nightlife. Most stops you do not get a chance to see the city at night, quite a different look.
  13. We have often had great lunches ashore when exploring the sights and go back to the ship to change then go to some bars in the evening before sailing .
  14. You and me both sister! Too easy after the croissants in the morning and pizza in the evening 🍕🍷
  15. Thanks for the pictures, everything we had March 12-22 except the suckling pig. The new pizzeria in the evenings at Waves is worth a stop. Memories to make you salivate.
  16. Joe you are so right, those sticky buns are definitely not sticky enough 🥲 What are those foreign red and orange things on the plate? OMG😂
  17. Orb see you tomorrow on the ship.
  18. We have flown twice to Barcelona, once with BA through LHR, once with Air France through CDG. Both times on our own dime, several days earlier than the cruise, because the flight times and departure days suited us better than what O was offering. Btw from Vancouver. Try to weigh all your options.
  19. Most of the walls, and all of the ceiling, are magnet friendly.
  20. 6:00 pm shows are a good idea if there are still the 9:30 shows. The earlier shows should be a solo performer, comedian, magician, guest singer etc. or one of the production cast backed by the house band. The later shows should stay as usual and book dining accordingly, the earlier shows are a bonus.
  21. Terry it is not likely to ruin the whole cruise, but certainly detract from the ambience of the gathering. Trying to wear shorts and T-shirts to the GDR and specialties is disrespectful to other pax and crew. It is a bare minimum that O has for a dress code, very easy to meet .
  22. Portsmouth is a great stop with the Mary Rose ( Henry vii) flagship and Nelson’ s ship Victory, plus the town itself.
  23. In 2019 pre-pandemic we took a taxi from Nice to Monaco because the train tracks had a small washout. Then it was €120. Once you are over the price it is a very nice drive and convenient, you will be dropped off as close to the ship as possible.
  24. It looks like Humphry Slocombe focuses on odd ball flavours to try to set themselves apart, and not thinking of quality.
