  1. I am 70. DW had no reactions, I think I may have had a reaction to the Typhoid fever shot. A week later I had a low grade fever for a day but don't know if that was a reaction. The reason I think it may have been the Typhoid fever shot is because it is a live vaccine.
  2. Interesting that the only mention of this ban is in this thread. Would like to see link to outside source.
  3. Yes I agree and always read the invoice and contract. However I think we're in the minority unfortunately. So "fault" may not be the best word but better communication would have been good.
  4. Never cruised on Princess but received that offer today. Amex blue cash card
  5. Thanks for this. Also good luck to those choosing cruise lines with no fee as many others charge a non refundable fee too. I consider this a good thing as many cruises get waitlisted by those not serious about booking. I do think this should have been clearly communicated so I fault Oceania for that.
  6. I will comment since you mention your consulting with a doctor. We're traveling to South America this Jan. YF vaccine is recommended but not required. We chose to get the YF vaccine, a lifetime shot. Also typhoid fever, a two year shot. Plus hep a/b. Typhoid is not an issue in coastal brazil but is up the amazon. The fatality rate is so high with these I wanted peotection. Beyond the vaccines long sleeves and insect repelants and protection is very important. We plan extensive travel over the next few years so was worth it for us. Since the Panama canal is not in South America I don't think it's needed but your doctor can give the best answer.
  7. I think it's possible to determine what's on sale. Take the brochure fare and divide by two. If the result equals the "promotional fare with airfare" then that category is not on sale. If it's less then it's on sale. For the cruise I was looking at PH1's were not on sale but A's,B's and C's were on sale. Don't know if my logic is correct but seems to correlate. I just wish it would be clearly listed and didn't need to use a top secret decoder algorithm to determine. 🙂
  8. I called to check and the price was same as on website. Essentially this appears to be a non-sale. No reduction in price. This was for a PH1 on an october sailing advertised as being on the black friday sale. Same price as last week.
  9. I must disagree that it means NOTHING. It means it's up over 8% today. 🙂
  10. I can't detect any savings looking online. The listings say "savings up to $xyz" but nowhere does it list what fares are reduced for that particular sailing. Is it required to call to book for these savings?
  11. That seals the deal for me. 🙂 🙂
  12. Is there such a thing as a "bad" alaskan cruie? I've never been one. 🙂
  13. Here's a copy of the email I received in July for an August sailing. In review of current rates for your sailing xxxxxxxxx, we have identified a price drop in the amount of $1199.9. As a one-time good will gesture, we have created 100% of that amount as future cruise credits for you below: 2372943xz - guest1 - $599.95 2372945xz - guest2 - $599.95 These credits will be available for one year to book and sail, upon completion of your current sailing on Debarkation Day. Please note terms and conditions include but are not limited to the following: Your future cruise credit (FCC) is only applicable towards sailings six days or longer, FCC provided is non-transferable, FCC provided is non-refundable, FCC is issued to guest 1 and 2 on the reservation only, guest who cancel their reservation prior to sailing will have their FCC deactivated from their client profile. Thank you for choosing Norwegian Cruise Line, we look forward to welcoming you aboard soon!
  14. In our case it was a discreet dollar amount not a percent off. Can't comment on your memory. 🙂
  15. I had this offer last month and used it...
  16. Yes you will see the FCC in your account at the end of your cruise.
  17. It's here. Just bookmark this page and check it regularly. https://www.ncl.com/about/terms-and-conditions/promotions?hide_hf=true
  18. I don't have the direct answer to your question. In my case of 2 passengers the FCC was divided between the two of us. It's very likely you'll save money so worth the phone call.
  19. Yes they sure are making it worse. Regarding insurance I know my homeowners policy doesn't cover really really bad events like war and nuclear disastor so it's likely the cruise line can't get that type of coverage. I'm hoping Oceania utlimately choses to refund but they get a solid "F" grade from me for how they've handled communication and action it so far.
  20. For info on what NCLH is doing to hold down costs see their earnings call presentation. Lots of interesting info. https://d1io3yog0oux5.cloudfront.net/_c102cbdd15411bb7f2576bbe23b9f7d8/nclhltd/db/1086/11444/pdf/NCLH+Q3+2023+Earnings+Call+Presentation_FINAL.pdf
