My thoughts as we have a trip from Rio to Santiago in January. We got the YF and Thyphoid vaccines. Did not chose to carry Malaria pills as we won't be going up the amazon. Probably didn't need Typhoid either but chose to get it. I treated our decision like an insurance policy. Unlikely to get either one in Brazil but result of getting YF, Thyhoid fever or Malaria is severe. Just as important(or more important) is prevention of mosquito bites. Will be treating clothing and applying repelant while in the area. Note none of these are required for entry into Brazil. In my opinion totally unneccesary for Caribbean. We got our vaccinations from a local travel clinic. My advice do not use passport health. They are, to put it mildly, a ripoff. Twice the price as the local clinic here in Portland. Would have cost $600 at Passport. Cost $300 at local clinic. Our medicare advantage plan paid 100% of the drug cost. Regarding Malaria it's my understanding there is no recommended or approved vaccine for adults yet. These were our choices. Others will have a different view.

Yes for us it was worth it. We especially liked the option to eat from the menu of a specialty restaurant servered by the Butler for dinner. We also had coffee and ofter breakfast served in the morning before shore excursions(from a menu provided by room service from the butler).

Wow that is crazy. I don't understand why Brazil isn't accepting e-visa for this. I hope you can apply before your cruise for an e-visa as consulare visa requires a visit to the nearest Brazillian embasy.

I think customer service may be providing incorrect info. I'm not sure. I'm arriving by air myself so OK either way.

It may be VFS that is providing this info not Brazilian. They process the visa applications then forward to Brazil. I think they may be giving out incorrect info. I don't know. However I'm certain a visa or e-visa is required to enter Brazil if you're US, Canadian, or Australian. Hopefully you'll be able to enter with an E-Visa.

I think we will achieve world peace before solving the chair hog issue.

A better question might be: Why should O not change this schedule? I can't think of a single reason.

Yes we just did a "Venice" to Rome cruise. Venice no longer allows cruise ships to dock so they typically leave from Trieste. I find it annoying itineraries still call this a Venice starting point cruise. We spent 2 days in Venice before then took the train to Trieste. Lovely train ride.

This is a blanket cover their behind email. You really need to consult the CDC and your doctor for actual advice. I am going to Brazil this winter and have the yellow fever, and typhoid fever vaccine. It is my understanding there is no recommended Malaria vaccine for adults, but don't believe anything you read on CC regarding vaccines(me included). Updated: Received email that I needed to reupload financial data. Checking statement was for one month and showed my minimum balance was $600 even though I've run $20,000 thru the account. Required two months of statement with a minimum balance of $2000. Reloaded another account that met this requirement and will wait for updated status. FWIW you must respond within 12 hours or application will be moved to inactive status... Government bureaucracy is so much fun(NOT). zteamtwo: Maybe I can clarify. The free gratuities that is part of the package is distributed among all the crew. You cannot give these to individuals. If you want to tip a particular crew member it's no problem giving them cash they can keep for themselves. They don't have to share it.

Yes when I've asked I've gotten the same response. Not sure what the OP's concern is.

Yes you can bid on any cabin whether it's sold out or not. As BirdTravels notes the chance in this case of winning an upgrade is a tiny increment above zero. I've never bothered to bid on any category that shows sold out. I've been successful on several upgrade bids but always in a haven catergory with numerous empty cabins.

FWIW the final payment for my Viking river cruise in Aug. is due in Dec. 240 days out... However I can cancel for $200 fee up to 120 days out. Wasn't at all surprised when O changed as I read my invoices(for my O cruises next year). 🙂

Yes I had them switched. Thanks for pointing that out YF is live, the Typhoid shot is inactivated. The Typhoid pills are live.
