Early boarding for Emerald tier
BecciBoo replied to workstocruise's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Yep that has not been our experience post covid. We have always gone early, when they started assigning times we always choose the earliest. Cruise last September we arrived at 9:30, first time was 10:30, we had 11:00, they would not let me in the earlier lines AT ALL. I had to sit and wait on a bench until my assignment. Course this was at the old terminal. This September we'll be at the new one. We will still choose the earliest time we can and still probably arrive early. Since we come down from Arkansas that's how we role. We get our hotel day before on the mainland, get up around 8 and drive down to the island. -
Early boarding for Emerald tier

I can confirm Galveston DOES enforce it...rigidly. -
You might watch this You Tube video of Jeffrey's Central Park balcony which he loved...lovely ensemble music in the evenings even though no sea view and being right across from another cabin, didn't seem to bother him. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YDIaLhqE-ZA Cabin is at 12:15 He has a whole series on Allure, very detailed.

Thanks for your opinion. Otherwise it was difficult to find a quiet spot outside of your room. In over 10 sisters cruises (Oasis class) we have never failed to find plenty of spots to be alone, you just have to look for them. And we have never felt crowded at all, maybe a little when shows let out and everyone rushes the elevators, but that happens on all ships. There are tricks and tips to help with that I won't mention here. Over all we prefer this class and will be on Allure for our 4th trip in Sept. I suggest you do one again and be more investigative. prison-grade towels. We've never experienced this on any RCCL ship...did you take it up with your steward?

Do all parties need the RC app?
BecciBoo replied to alaskaboy2's topic in Royal Caribbean International
No you don't need it, but I, personally would always use it. One per stateroom. Easier, faster and fun too. You can go back to the app-less days, but be prepared for delays. -
Oh no, There will be much more activities for his age on ICON than Odyssey, although we loved Odyssey. I'd go for ICON.

Or many homes as well🤢 I've seen some I was afraid to stick my pinky toe into.

Odyssey vs. Oasis class
BecciBoo replied to new2cruising2006's topic in Royal Caribbean International
We went twice and we'll never get that time back. I think this space is a complete waste of it. Not a place for older peeps anyway and we were completely disappointed by the food up there after all the good reviews. The pizza on the promenade was better! There was the World Cup Soccer going on and it was a madhouse as well. We will book Odyssey again but will not venture into that area again. To each his own. -
Once when we boarded Liberty right after one of their chartered Swinger cruises, I was getting "anal" about germs., was looking at the metal entry door in our cabin (unfortunately, didn't get a pic of that!) but to the side of it with the light coming in the balcony shawn on it, it was totally covered in gross smears of "something". That was also the cruise the crew had a few choice stories to tell. I wiped that cabin down 2 or 3 times! Then one cruise out of Los Angeles on a Princess ship, my MIL found a used condom in a drawer, called GS immediately and they were moved to a Suite! That's true! But don't carry a dead condom with you guys!!!!🤣

Funny thing...a week ago hubs was in hospital with diverticulitis...while I sat and looked around his room, I made mental note of all the filth,.I kid you not. They may mop, but they leave so much dirt behind around and under the floor cove it's unbelievable! While contemplating all this, I looked down and under my hubs knees on the metal foundation of his bed was a crust of white bread! How it got there is anybody's guess!! I told the nurse about it and laughed, but it was cement. So I knew nobody ever wipes down the bedframe. Hospital yet! It's a wonder we don't all die if ever you're admitted! It was a good laugh though.

Keep Calm and Cruise on dude!

Actually if you Google it, your kitchen sink is considered the dirtiest thing in your home.

But I try never to touch the stair rails if I can help it, figure those are the worst, the elevator buttons, whatryagonnado? On Odyssey half the time the hover buttons just didn't respond so I ended up touching them. I'm still here...............🤮

Bed bugs pooh is easy to see on sheets....little dark speckles, I always check 'em. Never got bed bugs and don't intend to...Mom's phrase always flashes in my head..."Don't let the bed bugs bite!" She actually said that to me all the time...hahaha thanks Mom!

Sold out shows on Allure, other question
BecciBoo replied to RoyalShock's topic in Royal Caribbean International
General consensus of opinion is that you can get into most shows without rez, but the Comedy Club or late night Comedy is usually packed, so a good idea to prebook that one. -
I wouldn't get my panties in a wad...nothing is really sterilized, even hospitals are filthy. If it bothers you, take a canister of Clorox wipes and have at it, I've done it plenty of times! Don't forget that phone and the TV control, dirtiest things in any cabin. And WASHY WASHY!

Booked our Christmas SURPRISE!!
BecciBoo replied to mandyleighflies's topic in Royal Caribbean International
We did Odyssey last December 11-18 and absolutely loved it. They had the official tree lighting the first sea day, we sang carols and had Santa, it was great and still more reasonable than Christmas week. It was a little cold, even in the Caribbean so we didn't spend a great deal of time in the water or ocean, but it was just great...enjoy! Ditto Peaches, my grown kids now with grown kids still talk about our cruises as family...those were the days! Sniff. -

You can hear the ensembles playing in Central Park about the same, just not herds of peeps. I loved the Central Park experience. But then I am perfectly happy anywhere on that class. -
Odyssey vs. Oasis class

We loved Odyssey for the great technology used on it....loved loved loved the 270 show Book. I think you'd like it too. But our fave is still the sisters, especially Allure and Symphony. Can't wait to try ICON. Odyssey seems and is smaller and a little more crowded but we would book her again in a heartbeat....but....too many ships too many trips to do. LOL -

"real life" changes daily on every ship...from ship to ship. I see nothing wrong with renderings, everybody knows they are just renderings. You might see 20 people back there some days unless the Aqua Show is playing, then you might see 300. What difference does any of that make? They are trying to show you the ship, not little mannequins of people. -

We had a Boardwalk cabin at the very back of the ship right on the Aqua Theater next to the rock climbing wall on Allure. We did hear a muffled noise during heavy traffic periods such as the Aqua Show and some of them lasted until around 11pm. But not enough to really bother us. I think you'll like it. Never heard the merry-go-round. -
