  1. As I've said before, we booked it for $20.99 pp and it was absolutely delish! DO IT! We did it on boarding day on Odyssey in December, excellent Italian. Get the giant meatball and my Pasta Carbonara was delish. Lasagna wonderful. Desserts sampler great too.
  2. Yes, both classes are almost exactly the same...The only obstructed aft view I know of is the deck 6 Presidential Suite. We've done both ship classes and both aft views: Voyager class: Liberty Presidential Suite:
  3. We love the Solstice class, have done 2, also an Eclipse, wonderful. We'd do more with them if we could afford to. Food was fabulous! We had to cancel our Infinity cabin on Edge due to Pandemic..sniff!
  4. The squeaky wheel always gets the attention!
  5. I do know that if they have available cabins a couple days before, they put them up online. That's how we ended up getting a balcony and a virtual THE DAY BEFORE EMBARKATION DAY on Navigator once (2014). It was really cheap too, that's what spurred me to book it, we dropped everything, got our Nlaws to come and we drove down the next day, didn't know what cabin we had until we pulled up in front of terminal. I was happy to have gotten one of the first virtual cabins ever. The programmers were still on board Beta testing them and we got to meet them. I expect the wait list will get some results, but you never know. Good luck!
  6. It's all in who you talk to...my advice...keep talking, you will eventually get it sorted out.
  7. We did the lunch December Odyssey..YUM! $20.99 Didn''t notice the filet, but I ordered one of the best Pasta Carbonaras I've ever eaten and hubs had lasagna...the lady next to us had some kind of steak and a stuffed meatball she was raving about...one of the best specialty dinners we've ever had onboard. Dessert was delish as well. This is from the wine bar.
  8. I agree the prices are insane, but the ship is too...can't wait. Our September cruise has increased a ton, so glad we booked day of announcement! If we have to downsize to once every two years from twice every year, I would do it for this one.
  9. Don't be naive, they WILL cruise on it again...and again, and again, and again. Maybe I will too...I'll let you know next year.
  10. On one occasion on Navigator, we booked the cruise the day before the cruise and as we were pulling into Galveston on Sunday, I got the notice on my phone of our cabin assignment...pretty cool actually, pretty cheap too...it was a virtual balcony cabin.
  11. There are plenty of areas where one can be fairly secluded and lots of places to experience the castaway feel of the ocean...then plenty of high energy places like the water park and bars etc. We loved Coco Cay when it was the sleepy deserted island, but we also enjoy it today...something for everyone. After all, the reefs and critters are still there, the lovely water etc. And no competition from thousands of other vacationers like at Disney. I loved all the venues there but the crowds not so much. Give me Coco any day, but hey...lower those Beach Club prices!
  12. I have to agree, but I'd walk a mile for their chewy coconut cookie or their sugar free coconut cake...mmmm
  13. Never had a problem, maybe one good thing about the club, there were no obnoxious people at any time during our stay...quite sedate AAMOF. No doubt we enjoyed it, but having paid so little the first time, paying even $100 would sour me on it.
  14. Has everyone consulted their witch doctor today? 🤪
  15. We got three of them, only because I was the first one off the ship and on the shuttle. But honestly, we hardly got on them, in the pool mostly. And it was chilly.
  16. I agree, when we bought ours Sept. of '21 it was $58.99 pp. That was worth it, but now, not so much, in December we just hung out at the Oasis Pool...the only thing we missed was the Fried Lobster Sandwich, not worth $200! After getting it on sale I wouldn't even pay $100pp OMG I just checkedour ICON Sept. '24 and its: Coco Beach Club — Full Day Pass Day 7 - Perfect Day Cococay, Bahamas From $283.99 / per adult $299.00 onboard $264.99 / per child $279.00 onboard
  17. Well, most of us could write a book about that subject and none would agree entirely. Here's my take in as small a nutshell as I can: We like to go in September: Glaciers are calving like mad in the heat, you can wear shorts most of the time except at the glacier...locals are out in them: I prefer Vancouver to Vancouver or Vancouver to Seattle, never Seward because of the coordination problems getting to and from the ship from Anchorage. Inside passage is to die for, lots of critters and scenery. I got breaching whale footage! And you can't beat the sunrise coming into Ketch: I prefer Hubbard Glacier because it's the biggest and always calving at least in September. I love the wake view from Radiance class but you gotta book early to get one. As for Juneau being just another city, I wouldn't miss doing whale watch from there and going out to Mendenhall, it's worth it even for the Bear Walk. In September you can walk all the way out to the falls.
  18. September is our go to month, no only for cheaper fares but weather is great and kids are back in school, and we've never noted any of these problems then. We even had 2 Alaska cruises in September, both perfect. We don't cruise in the summer, too high and lots of kids. I have nothing against kids, I was one myself once, but they are less hectic. The only thing we ever noticed was the Quinceanera thing being from Texas and that is usually at Spring Break or the summer. But really, the lemonade is great anyway.
  19. With our group of 16 I emailed 3 weeks before and they put us in the very back of Liberty's MDR right next to the windows and we had early seating....perfect! All it takes is some conversation with the Dining people and asking for exactly what you want. 2 long tables of 8 and at one point our daughter invited 2 others she met to eat with us, they put them at the end of the tables. No problem. 1010756313_tablesfor16.MP4
  20. Then don't waste yours! Let the rest of us waste ours as we see fit. I read every word.
  21. Firstly, we had 16 on our family cruise, two tables of eight were just fine, can't really converse with all 12 people anyway, can you? Seriously? We switched it up every night so everyone could talk to everybody at least 2 or 3 times. No problemo! But I do sympathise with the chartered cruise group. Been on plenty of Quinceaneras out of Texas that were annoying in the extreme. Never let that bother us, it's the luck of the draw....Keep calm and cruise on. Just finished the thread and I have to say, none of the things mentioned really bothers us...we just plow on. Usually having too much fun to even notice...but really, nobody has any control, control is an illusion. You just gotta go with the flow. There have been annoying things happen on a few cruises, but like I always say, make lemonade. I guess I'm just too self absorbed enjoying myself to take much note. I would certainly never let that keep me from cruising our line.
  22. With all the welding going on, not surprising. I ain't worried at all. We're in September too!
