  1. Complaints to the head waiters may carry some weight , but I believe that the post cruise surveys are probably the best way to get the points driven home .( Aside from spending your cruise $'s elsewhere) Though the dining experience is an important part of our cruising , DW and I are not really too bothered if something is not just right . ...However 1 thing I will be changing is the way I approach the post cruise surveys from now on . . Honesty will definitely be the catalyst going forward for my ratings. Since restart we've done 2 cruises last fall and 1 this past February and have definitely seen declines in all areas but especially in the Dining. Because we are pretty easy to please It hasn't bothered me a whole lot , but reading many posts here have made me realize that with the amount of money I spend to do this , If management things things are 'Just Peachy' based on the reviews they read , coupled with all of us just continuing to pay up for declining service and quality, then that is on me ! I have always given high marks 'just because ' , and have been guilty of falling into the trap of the waiters request for a 10 because they are nice people... That's gonna change ! Next B2B in October... Will have a great time , but not expecting the Spectacular Cheers
  2. Removing tips from the people who need them the most , and have Nothing to do with the policy ..? If your local restaurant has removed your favorite item from the menu or cut back on portion sizes, You know this and choose to go anyhow ... You then don't tip your waiter who for his part provides excellent service for the evening ?? ...Seems a little misguided to me Cheers
  3. Take no bites if you like ...The policy has nothing to do with 'cleaning your plate 'as some have suggested . Kinda defeats the purpose of having 2 entree's if you're not gonna eat it though .That's the main goal I would assume , to cut down on the number of people who order a second Entree to just ' have a taste' of 1 of them. When told you can only have 1 at a time many will just not bother with the second ... ... In theory of course Cheers
  4. It's Adult comedy ! If you are asking if it will be obscene ,I would say you don't want to be there Cheers
  5. Nothing on this pages adds up far as I can see .... Your subtotals are showing a negative value , you have a NRD discount of $(-)2814. The whole thing looks wonky !
  6. You can not order 2 drinks at a time with 1 card , but going with both cards in hand should not be an issue Cheers
  7. I just looked up statistics and I guess I forgot this when I made my comment ... A lot of the cruiselines profit actually comes from online spend rather than cruise fare . "Of that $1,560, 71.5% ($1,116 per passenger) was spent on cruise fares and the remaining 28.5% ($444 per passenger) was spent onboard for everything from booze to t-shirts in the gift shop" Just 1 example %age wise of how they fare Cheers
  8. Hmmmmm...... Did you?.... say the problem isn't the actual users ??? Clearly this is like talking to a wall at this point !! Enjoy not using the pool area on your next cruise ! Cheers
  9. Well that clearly didn't jive with the rest of your postings on the subject . Went from stating how cut and dry it was to that... At least you got there I guess... there's that
  10. And there it is , as is usually the case on here with those that think solutions to problems are so easy. ...So you state>>> 'The problem isn't the actual users , but I can fix the problem of chair hogs by ruining their experience in the process'. ... Think that through for just a minute.. As I stated earlier , total lack of actual critical thinking ! And as I also stated it most Definitely IS a complex issue !! Cheers
  11. Nice , me too ! I would suggest that you follow up 2-3 weeks out with an Email to RCI dining . Still hasn't guaranteed my result , but the more angles you cover the better I would think ! Cheers Gl
  12. Pretty sure I'm not doing anything different , ( other than I assume I'm in the minority that go above and beyond and Email RCI dining ahead of time to get confirmation .... of my confirmation) All I can tell you is from the experiences standing in the long lines at MDR on embarkation day , It's not hard to overhear others around you , and especially the ones at the front as you get closer .Plenty of others with the exact same problem , (some in tears ! .. overkill maybe? ) I was definitely not the exception to the norm . After B2B fails in the fall I was certainly hoping my Feb. sailing on wonder would be better , But based on the experience I would say it was actually worse . Hoping they get the bugs out soon , not sailing again til Oct. Cheers Cheers
  13. Exactly the right approach !! I can't remember , when did U say you are sailing ?
  14. I wouldn't suggest you go to Vegas anytime soon .3 for 3 against on my last 3 sailings ...I would not consider those very good odds ... Couple that with the overwhelming response in this thread from people who have sailed recently that the state of RCI's dining structure in general seems to be in disarray... Or maybe you just think we're all full of it ? As I said I hope the best for them as I do for myself on my upcomings as well as everyone else. Eventually RCI has to get it together Cheers
  15. "And it must be so "?? Don't want to burst your bubble , just want you to be prepared .... I'll repost (This is from post 25 on this thread ) "Problem is that it seems early is far and above peoples first preference . If they cannot offer enough early dining slots (which clearly never used to be a concern) , then they need to consider how to fix the issue .To make this much much worse they are also overpromising and confirming way too many people for early than they can accomodate. I did consecutive in the fall (Symphony/Explorer) and Wonder last month , and all 3 I had confirmed Early dining ( 2 of the 3 I had Email confirmations from RCL dining , with table numbers) .All 3 I showed up , headed straight to dining room to check my table only to find out I had none..... .... Embarassing the way things are being run at present . Hope they get their act together soon 1 way or another ! Cheers" ....Best of luck !
  16. Because they have never worked in a situation where they need to use real critical thinking to address an issue and just act like everything is cut and dry... even when it is a very complex issue.
  17. This is the absolutely intolerable one . Watched someone do this every day for a week in a prime spot... Very hard to keep mouth shut. If I could go back , I would 'tattle'
  18. were you on the inaugural sailing . I saw that set from someone on that one , but assumed it would be the only one ...?
