  1. No, still not being done on Britannia, not even flambé away from the table, done in the kitchen apparently. Although P&OSue reports that everything was available on Ventura... Andy
  2. Yep, easy walk across the park. If you can't leave your luggage at the hotel, you can drop it off earlier then go back for a wander. Have a great cruise, Andy
  3. Skjolden sounds lovely, our type of place. Some of the niggles you are having reflect our experience and, although I wish you didn't have to put up with them, I'm also glad it wasn't only us as we seemed to be the only ones on our cruise being bothered by screaming kids and rowdy passengers. But, as you said before, there is so much good to enjoy, it easily outweighs the bad. Thank you for reporting in, we appreciate it. Andy
  4. We didn't get an amuse buche at all, or blackcurrant lolly!!! Or maps, or biscuits, or water, or Claire Sweeney... Andy
  5. Or she might just want to get in your room to steal your biscuits...😂
  6. Not stowing away this time then Phil😂
  7. I didn't even get any on the first date.... Story of my teenage years😂
  8. Another thing you have to ask for...
  9. You are selling it to me John. Sounds great, thank you for reporting back, enjoy the rest of your cruise. Andy
  10. Spot on. We were aware of a lot of the cutbacks prior to sailing, so tried to see it from a new cruisers perspective. Didn't work, spent half the holiday going 'oh, they haven't got.....'😂 Andy
  11. Smoked salmon was available at breakfast on Britannia. I don't eat it, but saw others having it whilst 'food perving' 😂 Andy
  12. Very jealous, I'm back to work this morning😒 Glad it's going well, thank you for the updates, really enjoying reading them. Andy
  13. You can play that game we played looking for you Dai, 'Is that Selborne'. 😂 Andy Ps... I won
  14. My razor fitted OK? Must just be the dodgy Pound shop ones that fit😂 Andy
  15. Thank you. We had looked previously at Princess, but I think P&O just seemed simpler. British money, reasonable drinks prices, no tax on drinks etc, no tipping. I know you can get that all in a package, but what package would suit us. I would just need to do a fair bit of research. Andy
  16. Oh that's different to ours. We had 5 normal sockets, 3 above the dressing table/kettle point and 2 under the TV, as well as a 2 pin point above the dressing table. Andy
  17. There is a shaver socket in the bathroom, you have to lift up a flap, but it's there. There is also a socket the by the kettle, I used this to charge my razor. Andy
  18. There will be lots of empty tables on fixed dining on most nights as your table is allocated all week. No real need to tell anyone, just possibly out of politeness if you are sharing a table so they don't wait for you. Andy
  19. Fantastic summary Selborne, thank you. Although we really enjoyed our cruise, we wish we had booked this one. Although we had slightly more passengers, the thing that stands out is we had nearly twice as many new cruisers and what sounds like a very different demographic, but ours was only 7 nights. Glad you are having a good time, try Pulse again on their 'Rock' night, it is fantastic and hilarious in equal measures, great entertainment. Things will settle down, I'm sure the niggles will soon disappear. Andy Ps, Britannia did have a minor refit, i think it was 2019?
  20. What a shame. On our first cruise on Britannia, our ta had not ticked the no upgrade box and we was given one of these. We feared it would be noisy so I called P&O and they allowed us to keep our original cabin as it was still available, thankfully. Doesn't seem fair you paid extra to get a worse cabin. Sleep well, Andy
  21. Have a great cruise John, will look forward to your feedback. Andy
  22. Have a great cruise, we will definitely have a look. Andy
  23. So did we last week, much to the disdain of all the people waiting to join the queue... We benefitted, but it's just not a fair system. Andy
  24. Budget is a big factor, not whether we can afford it, more of wanting value for money. If we had paid £50pppn I would have said it was great value. So, do we go cheap, knowing what to expect, or try to get exactly what we want at a much higher price? You might be lucky with the app, some ships seem to be dropping it already, although I suspect the bigger ones will keep it. Andy
