  1. Thank you for reporting back, glad you had a good time. Andy
  2. Until recently, I would have said it was OK to be above the Crystal rooms as it was used mainly for ballroom dancing and wasn't open much past 11. However, it is now being used for Karaoke and the 'Silent' disco, which is anything but silent... Hope you get it sorted. Andy Ps. I think it still closes around 11.
  3. You are right, we were worrying about lots of things before we went on our recent cruise. None of it was that bad, but I think a lot was due to our expectations being realistic thanks to honest reports from our fellow posters. Andy
  4. Totally understand. I admit, I would have probably wrongly assumed you just didn't care, but if the majority were participating, I doubt I would take any notice of the odd one... I will think twice before judging in the future. Andy
  5. Yep, totally understand about hidden disabilities, we deal with it every day... Sad that 99% of the passengers using the buffet all have hidden disabilities.😂 I don't doubt there are exceptions like yourself, but I'm sure the majority I saw just don't care... Andy
  6. The Crow's Nest must have been rammed if all the people we saw not washing their hands were just passing through😂 I heard one lady pushing a wheelchair proclaim loudly 'It's OK, I washed my hands earlier'... Andy
  7. Thank you for confirming. I just recall quite a few passengers turning up with luggage as we were trying to disembark about 9.30, it was chaotic to say the least... Andy
  8. Sorry, can't remember exactly but it didn't seem worth it to us at the time for a 7 night cruise. That doesn't mean it was expensive, we just thought we didn't really need it. Now more cruises are being booked, we will have another look when renewal is due. Andy
  9. I think you can drop your bags from about 11? Trying to do it earlier causes problems with the disembarkation from the previous cruise. Have a great time. Andy
  10. Our Stay sure policy, which covers Michelle's medical condition and is very reasonably priced, allows you to add missed ports as an extra. We have a yearly policy that cost £158 for both of us, without the missed port cover. Andy
  11. Is that where Batman lives? 😂 Have a lovely time. Andy
  12. The nice thing about most of the Fjords is that if you don't see the best view on the way on, you will see it on the way out. Our recent Britannia cruise, starboard was usually facing the port, but don't bank on it. Andy
  13. That shows how things can change from cruise to cruise... The week before, on a very full Britannia, all the 10.30 shows that we attended were quite empty. 8.30 was the one that got booked early. Still wise to book, you can always cancel, there is no penalty. Andy
  14. As you would expect, the app for freedom dining was the constant conversation around the ship. On the shared tables in the mornings, the 'breakfast braggers' were very quick to tell the app users who had waited ages to be called or couldn't join a virtual queue that they 'just walked up' and got in no problem. I bet that made them feel much better😂 Andy
  15. Yes, we returned from Britannia 2 weeks ago. Are you bothering to read the posts before responding? The fact that I mentioned half the restaurant being closed and the shambles on the first night might have been a clue!!!
  16. I know, but we got it. We wouldn't have minded sharing if we had to, at least we would know when we were eating... Fortunately, it seemed on our cruise that the majority had requested freedom as half the fixed dining restaurant was closed off on the first night, with plenty of tables for 2 available. After the shambles of the first evening with the app, loads of them had switched to club dining. Andy
  17. It seems to work fine for many, but it's club dining for us whenever available now. There doesn't seem to be much 'freedom' involved nowadays. Andy
  18. I called P&O, after fighting through the automated nonsense and waiting 45 minutes, the nice lady swapped it with no issues. Andy
  19. It's not right, it shouldn't be ruining your cruise experience. Preempting the situation, thanks to your review, we switched to fixed dining, table for 2 late sitting with no issues. Andy
  20. You have to do what suits you, but what is the sense of the app then? This was also our experience, walk ups being given priority. Surely either use the app or don't... Andy
  21. True story... I had a cross between a Bull Terrier and a Shitzu... I will leave it for you to work out😂
  22. On Britannia, no option to book any restaurants prior to boarding. We managed to book the Epicurean when we boarded and wasn't going to bother with the Beach House or Sindhu, but after a poor experience in the mdr on the first night, we tried to book both, but absolutely no availability for either for the rest of the holiday, this was the morning after boarding... The Glass House cannot be booked, you have to join a virtual queue, which has its own issues, but we managed to get in twice. Andy
  23. Wise call I think Josy. We drank a fair bit (for us) with many Mojitos, the odd bottle of wine, plenty of Morettis and bottles of Corona, coffee, nightcaps etc and although we probably exceeded the DP cost on odd days, we were nowhere near the cheapest option overall. Actually, our overall onboard spend including Epicurean and a couple of Glass House visits, was about what the DP would have cost. I don't think we could physically get value out of it, but I am aware others do. Andy
  24. It does get busy but we always managed to get a seat, arriving at various times. Just lucky perhaps. Andy
