  1. My hubby seems to recall $60 round trip? We saw two young women trying to hire a cab but the driver did not want to take them because it is a bit of a distance to take only two people out. Another cabbie saw this exchange and offered to take us three and the two ladies together which made the cost much more reasonable, so be prepared if only two of you going........a bit pricey. Plus he was being tipped by five people! A bit of an aside.....some other folks from our group joined us at Brewer's Bay later. One of the gentleman had just been to a private wedding on St. Barts and said this beach reminded him very much of St. Barts which I thought was kind of cool since that island is rather exclusive (well, exclusive for people like me who cannot afford to go there, lol)
  2. Not on this cruise, but will chime in (hope you don't mind, hcat). If you enjoy snorkelling, I would recommend Brewer's Bay. We went there in June when sailing the Equinox and it was a lovely, almost uninhabited beach with good snorkelling. Somewhat out of the way and just one rustic restaurant/bar there. I think there were only about 20 people on the whole beach there the day we went. Of course, if you don't want beach/snorkelling, please ignore my comment lol.
  3. You certainly did more than a "decent job" of posting, bnurick! Thank you so much for sharing your vacation and posting so many excellent pics along with your insight. Thoroughly enjoyed it. 😊
  4. Happy Birthday hcat! Following and enjoying your review 😊 I know you said you are struggling a bit with with the wifi and may not post much, but you are doing a great job so far!!! Have a wonderful birthday cruise!
  5. Thought I read on another recent live X thread that the welcome sparkling could be found at Cafe al Bacio? Not that I necessarily trust my memory these days haha, but might be worth a try to check there.
  6. Thanks so much for taking us all along on another one of your great (and I think hysterical) reviews! Love your sense of humour.... And your cat and your hats!πŸ˜€
  7. Wow! This place looks amazing!!! Thoroughly enjoying your review mac tlc. 😊
  8. Oh my goodness, jam.....I am literally laughing out loud at some of your posts and pics already. I don't recall having seen/followed any of your previous reviews, but am already very much looking forward to reading more on this one! Love your style. Have a blast!!
  9. Hahaha ..... I wish, but I like the way you think! Thanks for the laugh πŸ˜„πŸΈ PS....love your dog 😊
  10. Hello Stupot 74... we just had our TA check for us because our son turns 21 on the last night of our cruise this April. She replied earlier this week that he has automatically been assigned the non-alcohol package due to his age (we booked all included as well).
  11. Apologies for duplicate post.....system said it did not post so re-posted (insert eye roll here lol)
  12. Wow!!! That's discouraging to hear!!! I always purchase Premium upgrade for my Grey Goose martinis. On occasion in the past I have been served a martini that was not Grey Goose. Celebrity only ended up wasting several ounces of vodka every time as I would politely note that they "served me something other than Grey Goose by mistake" and re-order the drink initially requested. Like many others on this forum I'm sure, I can tell the difference between the premium and not premium spirits when having a drink without a mixer.

  14. Will be sailing with my DH, my son and my mother on the Silhouette in April. After years of asking my mom if she would like to try a cruise, she finally decided at the age of 83 that she wanted to give it a try lol. She is very excited about it, is young at heart, loves to dance, and I am sure she will have a fantastic time!!! Wishing all fellow CC members a very Happy New Year and a wonderful and healthy 2024! πŸ˜ƒπŸΎπŸŽ‰
  15. Wishing you a very Happy Birthday Jim πŸ™‚ And as always, thank you so much for once again bringing us all along for another fantastic live review (I'm clearly a little late to the party and it has taken some time to catch up lol). Finally, thank you Jim, for graciously sharing part of your "life history" with your followers earlier in this thread. Like other folks on here, I feel the need to express how incredibly impactful your story was. It was extremely humbling and heartbreaking, yet also heartwarming and courageous! Wishing you and Iain only the best, always!
  16. Happy Anniversary and congrats on your retirements! Looking forward to following along. Have a fabulous time πŸ™‚ (PS love your kitties!)
  17. Thank you for a terrific live blog calicakes! Always enjoy following along with your reviews πŸ™‚
  18. Hi denuzzo. My experiences on these three ships is not exactly very recent, but will offer my thoughts anyways. Personally my favourite of these three is the Silhouette, mainly because she underwent the full refurbishment so IMHO looked great and was totally "refreshed" when we sailed her in Feb of 2020 just before the shutdown. We are booked on the Silly again in April 2024. Love the Lawn Club Grill for dinner! Sailed the Equinox in June of this year and due to the crane accident during her dry dock pre-pandemic she did not undergo the full updating. The public areas were nice; our cabin on Deck 8 was not updated and thus somewhat tired looking with the old red/gold colour scheme. It has been probably close to a decade since I have been on the Reflection so cannot offer any real insight about this ship at all except that I do not think she has been updated yet. Love the "S" class ships. Have a great cruise!
  19. Thank you so much for sharing, Northern Aurora. I found your comments and insights to be very informative and helped answer some questions I actually have about which glaciers to see, the differences between them, etc. for when I book an Alaska cruise (hopefully in the not too distant future!) Much appreciated!!
  20. Excellent! As always, very much looking forward to following your live review. Have a fabulous time and Happy 40th to Jeremy!!!
  21. Following! Have to wait until April 2024 before boarding the Silhouette so very much looking forward to your posts to cruise vicariously through you at this time πŸ˜‰ Thank you so much for taking us along!! Happy Anniversary!
  22. Lovely cabins/balconies at the aft. Agree with all comments above; the only thing I would add is simply to check for soot/put a towel on the chair before sitting out on the balcony. Of course I discovered this while wearing white capris.... πŸ™„πŸ˜‚
  23. 100% agree! I thought the exact same thing when saw this picture, hcat and Bernadette. Jim, simply stunning and IMHO one of the best photos (or at least a favourite for me) that I have ever seen you post!!!! Continuing to follow your excellent live report.... it is terrific learning about a new line and thank you so much as always for taking us along!
  24. Sorry to butt in OP, but don't think I have seen an answer thus far to the first question. Craft Social is indeed open to all Baggy178. From experience on our last cruise on Silly.
  25. Thank you so much ladylemondrop for taking the time to do this live review! πŸ™‚ Like several others here, will be following your onboard experiences closely as we will be sailing on the Silhouette in the future also (although not until April 2024 for us). Have a fabulous time!!!!!
