  1. Beautiful pictures. I can't wait to see your pictures after you have been to Keuekenhof.I know my wife never put her camera down except for the time we were looking to buy souvenirs.
  2. I know many people don't seem to like the NCL Prima because it is different, but we really liked it. I was also impressed with the Ocean Princess (no longer in the Princess fleet) for how well you got to meet other passengers and even crew because of its small size. And our cruises on both were picked for the itinerary.
  3. So, I did that evening order the vegetarian dish, though with some trepidation. It was a curry. Also had rice and mango chutney. I tried some of the rice with the little bit of mango chutney, and it was very good. (I really like mango.) And then I took my first taste of the curry, and it was incredibly HOT. My wife looked at me and said go back to the room, which I did and basically threw up all night. But thanks for the advice. 😢😢
  4. NO, NO, NO. Shrimp was an ingredient, not part of the name, so that was not the dish. Let me repeat this once again. Each night they had ONLY 3 entrees. The first was always meat. The second always fish. The third was always vegetarian. By adding meat to the fish dish, they severely limited the choice for anyone not eating meat.
  5. I hope they show him my comments on their post cruise survey. I was very positive on everything else, but wrote that with the limited menu adding meat to fish dishes was a MAJOR PROBLEM.
  6. Yes, one dish with shrimp had some sort of Italian ham. Another fish dish had bacon. I am sorry I do not remember the specific dishes. The shrimp dish is one I would have ordered.
  7. No, each time it was how it was listed on the menu.
  8. I was wondering if this was only for the ship we were on or possibly the chef in charge or totally throughout Gate 1. You seem to have answered that question. Thank you. I thought of calling Gate 1 if we found another of their river cruises that interested us and asking about this, but did not know if they could really answer.
  9. I only had a seat once, and I gave it up. It's rock and roll; you stand and shake your old body to the music!
  10. Unfortunately, you may need an attorney to get someone to pay. Each pointing the finger of blame at one another is just wrong. At least for what you paid MSC, maybe you can challenge with your credit card company as they did not provide the services you paid for.
  11. I'm sorry, the giggling by the staff is unprofessional and inexcusable. I don't care how young they were. Whether it was the fault of MSC or not, they should now be taking charge and seeing to the needs of their stranded passengers.
  12. Funny, I do not remember anything about the crockery. All I remember about the flight is I am glad we somehow made it as the connecting flight was both delayed and sitting at the terminal waiting to park. The only thing I remember other than that is being glad we made it to Heathrow.
  13. I agree that what Royal Caribbean and Celebrity do makes sense. I don't see any reason for Carnival not to use better equipment when they obviously have it for Princess and HAL. First impressions always make a large impact, and not efficiently getting your passengers onboard cannot be a good first impression.
  14. And that closeness surely adds to the fun of their performance. On the Prima this past summer I even got to speak with 2 of the singers who were fascinated with my experience at the original Woodstock festival in 1969.
  15. I understand that, but if the corporation has the equipment, it really does not make sense not to use it for all its lines. JMHO.
  16. Don't know about the Viva, but that venue did not exist (at least this summer) on the sisiter ship, Prima.
  17. Yes, we had another passenger in our row who was a Canadian on the flight to that connecting flight who said to us "Air Canada is always late".
  18. So let me make sure I am reading this correctly. The Carnival Corporation has made the more modern investment in equipment for Princess and HAL, but not Carnival. Somehow, that does not seem to make sense.
  19. Good luck with Air Canada. We have had 3 flights with them (all connected to cruises), and only one was on time. And that was a connecting flight after the first one was delayed and then waited at the airport in Montreal to find a place to park! We ended up running through the terminal to get to the boarding gate. They were already loading. I guess we were lucky our boarding passes were #3.
  20. Would it be safe to assume when you write "the non-updated equipment that Carnival uses" that this breakdown happens often? That is how I read it. Other lines sail out of Seattle including Princess and HAL that are part of the same corporation as Carnival. do they have better more up to date equipment?
  21. One correction---throw it into your recycle bin as junk mail can be recycled.
  22. Good attitude, and actually the one day that started with really hard rain as opposed to light rain ended up being a nice sunny day. So, be prepared with your sunglasses even if it is pouting,
  23. Just back earlier this week from a Tulip time cruise in the Netherlands and Belgium. Other than a lot of rain, it was a wonderful experience. The Keukehhof Gardens are spectacular, and luckily it was one of the few days with no rain. Also looking forward to your account. Have a great trip (and hopefully better weather than we had.
  24. I guess there is more of a difference than just the availability of free wine and beer at lunch.
