  1. We have been to Jamaica twice. The first time was for our 20th anniversary (way back last century) and stayed at an AI that was owned by the locals and no longer exists. The sec time as I wrote previously was on a cruise and we took the Carnival Bob Marley bus tour. We thoroughly enjoyed Jamaica both times. Grand Caymans was on the same cruise as Jamaica. Frankly, I found it the most boring cruise port we ever were in.
  2. The stock is dropping today. This is not exactly odd since the Dow Jones dropped 475+ points today. 😢
  3. 👍 I'll e looking forward to your pictures. My wife's camera was going constantly. She and I were especially excited when we found a tulip variety named after the early Dutch settler family that were her maternal ancestors. (In fact it was still her late Mother's maiden name.)
  4. And check your roll call to see if any are booking private excursions and looking for others to join.
  5. Unfortunate, but probably true. 😢
  6. Not that they are by any means small, but the Prima class ships are smaller than the preceding classes of ships, Breakaway and Epic.I do not believe either Carnival or Royal Caribbean is building anything but larger ships each time they do a new build.
  7. It would truly be a shame to miss Keukenhof Gardens. My fingers are crossed that they are successful getting you either a wheelchair or a scooter.
  8. My best stairs story was at the Palace of Versailles. We had landed in Paris on our wedding anniversary. I was in a walking boot as I had broken my left ankle about 10 weeks earlier. My wife started climbing up a very, very steep staircase. I yelled at her that I could not do that as I would fall and really hurt a lot of people. An attendant came over and said, "Monsieur, elevator", and took us to a hidden elevator. They are so well hidden that we could not find it again to go down and had to get one of the attendants to show us where it was to go back down.
  9. My wife said you had to climb down backwards. I did not do that, but went sort of sideways.
  10. We went to the same windmills. Did you climb up and down the stairs with your bruised hand?
  11. Hopefully nothing serious with your knee condition. Was there a warning about wet conditions on those stairs?
  12. Did you check if it went to junk mail?
  13. When we had a Carnival cruise that included Jamaica (Ochos Rios), we went on the Bob Marley bus tour. It was a blast, and we got to see a part of Jamaica that tourists usually do not see.
  14. Has anyone ever posted a thread with this kind of question before the medallion took over or on the board of another cruise line? The wonderful medallion technology strikes again. 🤦‍♂️
  15. There have been so many predictions on these boards that the stockholder's OBC would not be renewed. After the stock tanked because of what Covid did to cruising, many on these boards were sure it would disappear, or at least they would make you own twice as many shares to receive it. Instead, at the first opportunity they renewed it for 2 years instead of the usual 1 year. It is a marketing tool that costs them practically nothing. They will keep renewing it. I would not worry about it disappearing.
  16. She used to make stuffed animals and sell then at craft fairs. (Really as a hobby, not to make money) Her stuffed cows always sold out, but she would be bored with making cows and make other animals that did not sell as well. One time in a fabric store while she was look for material to "clothe" a cow, I asked what color she was looking for. I pointed out a material, and she sternly said to me. "Do you think a cow would really wear that?". 🤦‍♂️🤣
  17. Please be aware that for the really major museums like the Rijksmuseum, the Van Gogh Museum, and the Anne Frank House, you are going to need to purchase timed tickets in advance. (We did luck out last summer and there were tickets to the Rijksmuseum available for the half hour after we arrived there, but absolutely none for Van Gogh.) We found the Portuguese Synagogue to be fascinating. Your admission for there will also get you into the Jewish Museum.
  18. Can you check your bill on the tv? I was able to do that on NCL last summer (and they of course do not have the "wonderful" medallion technology.)
  19. We really loved our Prima cruise last summer, but the itinerary for the Dawn sounds much better. And on a Baltic cruise, the itinerary should be the main focus. Also, some of the features of the Prima would work best in a warmer cruise.
  20. Not if they keep building only monstrosities of the seas and the older ships eventually age out.
  21. Wow, my DW would probably spend so much time with that fabric that we'd miss the ship unless I literally dragged her back on. She is a retired art teacher and very much into quilting these days.
  22. There are ports that do not want the large ships. Venice in Europe and Bar Harbor, Maine in the USA are 2 examples.
  23. The problem with the new huge ships is that there are many ports that either they cannot go to or they are getting banned as the ports do not want that many cruise visitors at once.
  24. I would not call the Prima class small ships, just smaller than the ships that were being built immediately before them.
  25. And it reverses what they did when they built the Prima class ships making them smaller than the Epic and Breakaway class ships.
