  1. We sailed on the Prima this past August and had booked the cruise and BOGO back in late 2021. This was done through out TA.
  2. Thanks, you're probably right, and if a next time happens, I will know better. At least with the survey, I did let them know it was a problem. And I emphasized MAJOR!
  3. That is interesting. On our roll call from our cruise that ended in Reykjavik this past August, there were people who complained that NCL would not book them for flights this early and booked them for flights the next day.
  4. And they are still beautiful. We were just there this past March.
  5. Are you saying that out of experience, or out of thinking that is not the way it should be? I did write in my after cruise survey that it was a MAJOR problem.
  6. Yes, lots of cobblestone on the streets of the Netherlands and other parts of Europe. You should be ok at Keukenhof as there are paths throughout the Garden.
  7. We were recently on a Gate 1 Tulip Time cruise in the Netherlands and Belgium, and wondered if what happened on the menu was f;eetwide or just an anomaly. There were always 3 entrees listed, one meat, one fish, and one vegetarian. However, on 2 separate dinners, the fish dish also had meat. Not eating meat, this severely hampered our choices on those 2 dinners. For those who have been on other Gate 1 river cruises, is this how it always is?
  8. Flaring up quickly also means if it is scheduled to go to Israel, it can be cancelled quickly! And when was the last time a cruise went to St. Petersburg, formerly the jewel of Baltic cruises? I would not count on a quick return for ships to Israel.
  9. Our river cruise had separate stops at Antwerp and Ghent, although instead of going on their excursion in Ghent, we took an optional excursion to Brugge. We were supposed to go to Brugge on an ocean cruise this past summer, but it was cancelled due to an extremely low tide. So we ended up in Brugge on Good Friday which was also DW's birthday.
  10. Or get a waiver to the PVSA, and that is not going to happen.
  11. Did you get to the Catholic Cathedral in Antwerp? It was closed when our ship's tour was in Antwerp because it was Maundy Thursday, but we were told we could go there on our own after it opened and just show that we were from our river cruise, and we would be let in for free. Lots of paintings by Reubens.
  12. We have been to Jamaica twice. The first time was for our 20th anniversary (way back last century) and stayed at an AI that was owned by the locals and no longer exists. The sec time as I wrote previously was on a cruise and we took the Carnival Bob Marley bus tour. We thoroughly enjoyed Jamaica both times. Grand Caymans was on the same cruise as Jamaica. Frankly, I found it the most boring cruise port we ever were in.
  13. The stock is dropping today. This is not exactly odd since the Dow Jones dropped 475+ points today. 😢
  14. 👍 I'll e looking forward to your pictures. My wife's camera was going constantly. She and I were especially excited when we found a tulip variety named after the early Dutch settler family that were her maternal ancestors. (In fact it was still her late Mother's maiden name.)
  15. And check your roll call to see if any are booking private excursions and looking for others to join.
  16. Unfortunate, but probably true. 😢
  17. The reason NYC water is good is that it either comes from my county (Neversink reservoir) or neighboring Ulster County (Ashokan reservoir).
  18. Not that they are by any means small, but the Prima class ships are smaller than the preceding classes of ships, Breakaway and Epic.I do not believe either Carnival or Royal Caribbean is building anything but larger ships each time they do a new build.
  19. It would truly be a shame to miss Keukenhof Gardens. My fingers are crossed that they are successful getting you either a wheelchair or a scooter.
  20. My best stairs story was at the Palace of Versailles. We had landed in Paris on our wedding anniversary. I was in a walking boot as I had broken my left ankle about 10 weeks earlier. My wife started climbing up a very, very steep staircase. I yelled at her that I could not do that as I would fall and really hurt a lot of people. An attendant came over and said, "Monsieur, elevator", and took us to a hidden elevator. They are so well hidden that we could not find it again to go down and had to get one of the attendants to show us where it was to go back down.
  21. My wife said you had to climb down backwards. I did not do that, but went sort of sideways.
  22. We went to the same windmills. Did you climb up and down the stairs with your bruised hand?
