  1. No problem, different strokes for different folks. They do have excellent rum in Jamaica, as well as another local product. The only problem I have is I can't play Bob Marley in the car when DW is my passenger because she then wishes she was in Jamaica. LOL
  2. Can't be. Every Princess ad that they send to us touts the perfection of the experience provided by the wonderful new Medallion.
  3. When before the last postponement I thought this would apply to us, I had the following conversation with our TA. I asked about it, and he said no worries this would be like Australia, and it would be taken care of by the airline before flying. I then pointed out we were flying into the UK, not a Schengen country before the cruise went to some in that zone. He then said he would have to research it. And soon afte, they postponed again making it moot.
  4. Don't know if NCL has this excursion or if there is a private vendor who does it, but when we were on a cruise that stopped in Ochos Rios, Jamaica, we went on a Bob Marley bus excursion and it was a blast.
  5. At least they are not coming from the 'wrong" direction. I lappreciated the "look both ways" signs at London street crossings.
  6. That should read IF the ETIAS comes into force in November 2023. They keep putting the effective date off. We have a cruise that includes both Schengen countries and non-Schengen countries prior to November, and was worried about this until the last time they moved the effective date.
  7. In think there are more reports of being bumped off a ship because the ship has been chartered than being bumped because of the ship being overbooked.
  8. You are definitely not a Tom, Dick, or Harry. So the question is whether they would allow a Sid in.
  9. NCL has actually changed the name to DSC, Discretionary Service Charge.
  10. They went with the type of drill that they felt would not get passenger complaints. You may not believe this, but I am not looking forward (except for actually being on the Prima) for our muster, but I realize it is for the safety of all the passengers including me and my DW.
  11. And not only do they have to turn in the tips you gave them after removing the auto gratuities, but they also may be asked by their supervisor what they did so wrong that you removed those auto gratuities.
  12. Better question---How does the training of the crew improve when they do not train in a situation with the passengers. It has been pointed out that the first few old traditional muster drills have been a bit of a mess because the crews have not been doing them since the new e-muster drills. And it would be even worse if their performance was not good in a real muster situation.
  13. Better, I have seen it work while I cannot see how the new way will work. I have a feeling that you are not going to thank me for correcting how you characterized the reactions of veteran seamen. 🤣
  14. I also agree that this is the likely outcome. Also, anything they bought in advance like a drink package or excursions should also be refunded.
  15. Sid, on the daily program, are there dance lessons? DW loves them, and I love her being happy! 😊 We will celebrate our 46th wedding anniversary on the ship on a sea day. Nice to still be in love! 😊😊😊 Also, are there opportunities to dance?
  16. Have a great cruise. (Following as we are booked on the Prima this coming August.) I once hosted a meet and greet (on a different line), and it was a blast. Another on the roll call volunteered to make name tags, and that was a big help.
  17. Unless they want to put you in the crews' quarters. 😉
  18. A tour of Cozumel with an emphasis on bathroom facilities. 😊 I bet none of the cruise lines are offering that in their tours. 🤣
  19. DW was an elementary art teacher for many, many years. Some of those kids can be very talented. 😊
  20. But does it make is safer? If not, what is the point of having a muster drill other than it is required?
  21. In these days of massive cutbacks and huge debts for the cruise industry, these lines went for the more expensive alternative. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
  22. That is the Royal Caribbean and Carnival assertion. But where does it come from? I think it is from corporate, i.e., the bean counters, not from those who are actually in charge of conducting the muster drills. And @chengkp75 has done an analysis of man hours that seems to disprove the theory that the new e-muster actually costs more than the traditional muster drill. I think if it actually did cost more, you would still see the old muster drill on those lines. They are looking for every cost cutting tactic that they feel they can get away with. They are definitely not looking to increase any costs.
  23. We may be the only couple in the world who does not crave their caffeine fix to wake up. I hate the taste of coffee. I won't even eat coffee ice cream, though I love ice cream. DW does need her morning coffee, but it is decaf as caffeine is contraindicated with a prescription she takes. I have trouble understanding how she can be addicted to something when it does not have the addicting ingredient. 🤦‍♂️
