  1. I would add that it also helps them get promotions.
  2. Passengers are the people they are training to SAVE.
  3. Can it be used for everything, or are there restrictions on its use?
  4. Did that work out? If they said they would, you should let Carnival know and see if that changes the rejection to an acceptance.
  5. Ditto to getting good advice. I discovered this site before our 3rd cruise. I wish I had discovered it earlier when planning our first cruise.
  6. @chengkp75 has always said that it is important for the crew and for the passengers it is only for showing up and shutting up. If you had ever followed his posts, you would know that.
  7. No, that is overkill. Remember the authorities tightened up the muster drill procedures after the Costa Concordia disaster in which there were passengers who had not mustered. We all hope there is not a new disaster that occurs and causes all lines to stop with the new e-muster drills. If we end up having to congregate passenger like the old muster, masking for a short time seems to be not too much to ask for. Getting ready to leave to see relatives for Thanksgiving (just took a home Covid test). So to all who are travelling, stay safe.
  8. to prevent the spread of Covid and other flu viruses.
  9. Again, that is the exact opposite of what the various Carnival lines do. In 2020 on Princess (for a cruise that obviously never happened because of Covid), I tried to buy an excursion pre-cruise for both DW and myself. They would not split it, so even after using other OBC a few dollars ended up having to be charged. There are some who have reported when you call, they will then allow it to be split, but it was not worth the effort to try to call again to get a different representative for a relatively few dollars that would have been left in my OBC anyway and would get used on the ship.
  10. That split is interesting as an IRA account is an individual account. For the various Carnival brands, they do not split it even if the stock is in a joint account.
  11. I hope no one books with the belief that they are going to go there despite it used to be a truly great port.
  12. And no extra perks for those in the Haven. Just like the peasants, they have no bathroom facilities.
  13. I hope no cruise line is still advertising St. Petersburg, Russia as a port!
  14. Are you saying no bar has ever been sued when an obviously drunk patron after leaving drives his or her car and causes a major accident?
  15. The testing, vaccine, and masking requirements have all been rescinded with few exceptions. Why not the same for the real muster drill?
  16. And if they find the old style muster drill uncomfortable, how do you think they will feel if they ever have to really board a lifeboat?
  17. We were on a muster drill in the port of Copenhagen. Directly in front of us were a couple from our roll call who we had met when visiting DW's mother because they only lived one town away. I said, "You fly all the way across the Atlantic, and can't keep from seeing people from Long Island". They turned around and we all had a hearty laugh.
  18. Yes, wishing a Happy Thanksgiving and safe travel to all, whether traveling by cruise ship or any other ways.
  19. But I am sure it is not going to get them to even consider not selling the drink package!
  20. Act like you are deaf and did not hear her when she asks where you are going. That way you do not have to lie.
  21. Good luck. I hope my experience helps you out.
  22. The muster drill is not supposed to be about passenger satisfaction. It is about training, even more for the crew than the passengers.
  23. In 2016 we had a price match for an excursion in Barbados. The excursion we matched said they would pick you up at your hotel. I contacted them, and they said that they would pick you up at the cruise ship. I included this in my submission. I do agree, however, that the transportation to the excursion site not provided by the company you want Carnival to match allows them within their rules to turn down your request.
  24. Look at post #19; someone thinks they know more than her heart doctor!
  25. That makes sense. But isn't it amazing how some people make assumptions and despite no real knowledge somehow know they are true. 🤦‍♂️
