  1. But it is still really quick even with photos being retaken. At least it was for us boarding the Prima in Southampton, UK.
  2. Yes, a TA can be very helpful when there is a problem, even though so many say "you have lost control of your booking".
  3. IIRC, we used our phone once to set a wake up call. Now that I think about it there were a few times that there were messages, but I don't think any of them were very important.
  4. That does not mean it is necessarily one of those special like for travel agents to sale rates that are specifically not allowed the shareholder OBC. They could either be rebating part of their commission or have reserved a block of cabins so they can give a discounted rate.
  5. Now that we agree it is unanimous, just watch some joker will post be scared, very scared. Remember the Titanic. 😢 Remember the Costa Concordia. 😢
  6. I think overwhelmingly no is an understatement. I think you meant unanimously no.
  7. Wishing you good luck with that. Did you ask the TA what "FLEXNET" meant?
  8. I once thought we might have too much OBC, but then DW insisted on the most expensive HAL excursion to Anne of Green Gables. And my worries were over. 🤦‍♂️
  9. We both had our photos retaken at the pier in Southampton this past August. I was even told I could leave my glasses on after I asked if I had to take them off. (They did make me take my sunglasses that were on top of my head off.)
  10. I hope those on the cruise saw the signs and did support the locally owned businesses
  11. Glad Dubrovnik was taken off the list. Was there a partial ban on cruise ships either by number of ships at the same time or how many passengers at a time that preceded this?
  12. i think you missed that the poster you are quoting in not in the US. He lists Ottawa as his residence.
  13. But did they ever threaten, not just consider threatening, Venice being listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site? I specifically remember them threatening Dubrovnik with removal from the list.
  14. Thank you, I did not see how it could be true.
  15. 🤦‍♂️, That is awful. I hope it is not true.
  16. The Carnival Corporation stock not only provides OBC for Carnival, but also all the other lines owned by the corporation, Princess, Holland America, etc.
  17. So, the libraries are not a source of income for the cruise lines. At what point are the bean counters going to realize that no one is paying to swim and replace the pools with gift shops? 😒
  18. I sort of remember UNESCO saying something like that about Dubrovnik. I thought it was Italy that was expressing concern about Venice..
  19. Agree, a library would be a plus factor, but far from the most important factor in making a decision.
  20. Carnival Corporation pre-Covid paid dividends and had the shareholder's OBC for all of its various brands.
  21. We once had a cruise on which we had 2 extra days at the end due to a hurricane. The cruise director managed to put on a crew show on our last extra night. And during the show, one of the assistant cruise directors changed the name of the ship from the Enchantment to the Entrapment. 🤣
  22. And at the same time, they proudly say they have "retained control of their booking".
