  1. Only person that gets cash is my cabin steward. I don't drink alcohol so all I'm ever getting from a bartender or server is ice water.
  2. Escape in March. The CN manager was from the US, I recall that much.
  3. And don't fret about making sure they know before you arrive at the restaurant that there are only 3 of you, you'll get a table for 4 anyway...
  4. Wouldn't work for me - all I carry when on board is my phone and my room key.
  5. I attach a second, more conventional, luggage tag to some interior part of the suitcase. Lesson learned from when all exterior tags were torn off my bag on my first cruise, have some kind of identification inside as well.
  6. On my last cruise I intentionally sat in on part of the CN presentation, curious how it would be presented. The CN Manager explained it just as it should have been - he was very clear that the 'OBC' you get just offsets part of what you pay for the certificates.
  7. Le Bistro is becoming my favorite, on whichever ship I happen to be sailing (if it's on that ship).
  8. Something along the lines of "imagine hating this song but having this job where someone requests it EVERY DAY". I don't know if it was part of the act or if it was actual hatred for the song.
  9. lol, this was requested at Howl at the Moon both nights that I went on my Escape cruise. The second night one of the performers expressed he true feelings about the song, but performed it anyway. That performer was a CHARACTER!
  10. Not saying anything about your husband, but in your opinion is it possible to win such a content if you simply fill the hula hoop? Asking for a friend...
  11. and if you want to book a mix of cover-charge and a-la-carte restaurants, book the cover-charge ones FIRST. Otherwise the system will assume you're not using your SDP for it and will try to charge you.
  12. When I travel any checked luggage gets one of these tags (not in this color). The tag has to be removed in order to see the address, only the name shows through without any effort. It's also somewhat uncommon so I'm pretty well assured that the first bag with one of these that I see on the carousel is going to be mine. https://www.conair.com/en/swivel-identification-tag-–-orange/TS245RGX.html?lang=en_US In the future, if you're not staying in a cabin where these get mailed to you (not all cabins get them), I'd use a luggage tag sleeve that attaches to the bag with a metal loop. I still wouldn't put them on until in the port city, mine go in my carry-on until I get to the port city.
  13. A law called the Passenger Vessel Services Act (PVSA) prevents them (all foreign-flagged vessels) from transporting passengers between US ports (embarking in one, disembarking in the other) without stopping at a distant foreign port.
  14. several threads on this recently, it's a boiler-plate design in the app.
  15. The T&C's say 75 days.. https://www.ncl.com/about/terms-and-conditions/promotions Date deviations can be added up to 75 days prior to embarkation.
  16. What you need to ask for is a "downline embarkation". It may or may not get approved as others noted, but that's the term I've seen used before in these instances. Chances are MUCH higher that it will be allowed on a European cruise than one out of the US so you do have that going in your favor.
  17. NCL doesn't book the BOGO airfare until less than 60 days before sailing, your situation would not arise with that deal.
  18. That's not what the OP asked. As indicated by others, and presumed by the OP since they asked about filling a water bottle, the ship water is safe to drink and the OP was going to use that option.
  19. This is actually covered in the promo T&C's, so an informed consumer would be aware of this - https://www.ncl.com/about/terms-and-conditions/promotions Guests embarking or disembarking in Quebec City may be reserved on flights arriving or departing from Montréal-Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport (YUL) to ensure the most convenient schedule.
  20. I did this cruise on the Bliss in October/November 2019 (yes, I was on board for Halloween). I enjoyed it, the ports (PV, Mazatlan, Cabo) were really nice, the weather wasn't too bad. I checked all the boxes for excursions - through the cruise line, private booking, no excursion at all and just walked the city (not in the order I mentioned the ports).
  21. For this.. First - NCL has an "accessible cruising" form on their site that you can fill out prior to your trip, to alert the ship of allergies. Second - You can also then go to a dining room on embarkation to discuss the allergy, which in your case might also involve a senior member of the bar staff who might be able to answer the questions better than a random bartender. If he or she doesn't know they will be more likely to research it and let you know. NCL really do seem to care about accommodating allergies. Last - I wouldn't have said "artificial sweeteners", I would have said "natural sugar only". They may still not have been able to answer your question as to which drinks he could have, but they may have understood the question better and might have been able to seek answers to your question better. I'm sorry to hear that you feel cruising is not for you, not everyone enjoys "ship life". The Bliss was my first NCL ship, she really is beautiful.
  22. The two cruise lines I've been on (Royal Caribbean, last time in 2018, and NCL) have both been VERY accommodating to food allergies. I sailed with GF people on Royal, they were VERY mindful of the need. On NCL I was sitting with someone that had a different food allergy, never an issue. On my last cruise on NCL (in March) the very first thing that was asked at every dinner before the rolls were even placed on the table - "are there any food allergies".
  23. Unpack once - see 3-4 new places. Entertainment on the ship. The comraderie among passengers and how friendly most people are on board.
  24. The faucet in your cabin. If you're out and about, those other places are options. Sometimes a bartender will do it for you also, if they're not serving other guests. I had one on embarkation day fill a vacuum-insulated aluminum bottle with ice then fill it with water (when I simply asked for water). Sadly, he used somewhat warmer water so the ice ended up melting anyway... The usual warning - it is requested that you fill a glass with the ice or water to then transfer to the bottle.
