  1. It was commented on the BLC stream I linked - any time someone asks about early flights, remember this day...
  2. I posted the YT live stream, and others have posted news articles...
  3. Agree, tragic. I never understood the fascination with speeding about around the commercial vessels while in the cut, something was bound to happen the way the smaller personal vessels moved around. EDIT: is anyone on the Escape right now? Have they made you vacate your rooms to public areas or are you allowed to stay for now?
  4. And for those that want to see the stream -
  5. For those on the Escape today - it seems there was an incident in Government Cut this morning. Several cruise ships, including the Escape, are waiting offshore to enter the port. BLC Streams live cam for the port is showing the ships off-shore and has said the incident was recorded on their NVR (Network Video Recorder). They did not indicate there was a timetable for the ships to dock. Check your email and texts for messages from NCL about your embarkation!!! UPDATED: a vessel collided with a Fisher Island ferry, one fatality on the sunken vessel. Incident happened around 3:30 AM.
  6. That's my point. If you're bringing your own charger it will likely support the higher power delivery and give faster charge rates.
  7. I mean, it's really not hard to just bring your own USB chargers, right? Not to mention that a lot of devices now are using USB-C on both ends out of the box, so the USB-A ports in the lights are going to be a slow charge compared to what you would normally get AND you have to be sure to bring the right cable...
  8. I don't have any label, just my Latitudes status...
  9. Where would I find such 'label'? I'm Gold, only 4 cruises in my history on NCL...
  10. It's not just about the cabin you sail in but also the activities and solo gatherings (if that's your thing). You could have a ship full of solo infinite balcony cabins, but if there's no solo group activities some may not enjoy the experience...
  11. I had those as well but didn't book them. But not booking using those previous ones allows me to do the 15-day Panama Canal trip I'm considering, for which I would use the 10% in my account now...
  12. Hint - at the main forum list (one level up from reading this thread) at the top is a drop-down. Select the ship from the drop-down and get a pre-formatted search for all threads where the Joy is mentioned.
  13. You can go back and read my post, but I believe I used the word 'gaudy'...
  14. I've been 'stalking' a cruise recently, and been really close to booking it, but I've been doing that while logged out of my account, so they don't know I'm looking which means this is not a 'we know you're looking, here's an incentive to book'. I got an email today - 10% FCC in my account, book by Aug. 15, 2023, sail by March 31, 2024. That works for me, I'm looking at one sailing January 27. It DOES show in my account as well, right with my existing CND.
  15. Katy Perry was the 'Godmother' of Prima. A quick Google search turned up this article - https://www.cruisecritic.com/articles/what-is-a-cruise-ship-godmother
  16. If it's like the Bliss and the Joy (nearly identical ships), there are two US outlets by the desk, a European outlet by the desk and I believe USB ports in the bed-side sconces (which I wouldn't use, look up 'juice jacking'). Google 'Norwegian Encore balcony cabin tour' and I'm sure you'll find any number of videos showing the outlets...
  17. On all of the NCL ships with Studio cabins, up to the Prima, those ships (except the Epic) have the Waterfront. That space is outside and quite peaceful with plentiful seating. It's a great alternative to having a balcony.
  18. The daily from my March cruise on the Escape lists 'Dinner' for O'Sheehan's to be until 9:30. Not sure what it means for after that but it was still listed under the 24/7 section as well.
  19. Not really that unusual. I explained in my previous reply that I called the day before final payment and got the price drop on my cabin (and the bump to 3 Latitudes points for cruising in a Studio!)
  20. Technically you're not overpaying. If you pay the fare without adjustment you're simply paying the fare you agreed to. Are you paying more than someone that books today? Sure are, but you're still paying the fare you agreed to. If the fare increases, do you expect NCL to call you and tell you that you're under-paying and ask you to pay more? What sometimes comes with price drops is changes in perks, be fully aware of the perks you're getting if you call for a re-fare. As others said - call. My cabin for my Escape cruise in March dropped by $100 just before final payment. I called the day before it was due, got the price drop and the triple points promo added (the standard one per night plus two bonus) and made my final payment.
  21. I think the cabin availability as you experienced is to be expected on NCL ships for the foreseeable future, I experienced it on the Escape (same size ship) in March and others have reported the same from other ships of that size.
  22. At this point, when you consider the reduced staff for cabin turn-over I feel like it's going to become the norm. The last of the cabins weren't ready until 3 PM when I sailed the Escape in March.
  23. When you board go right to the Box Office (sometimes they use the comedy club), there will be a list of all the shows you can reserve and you can check the ones you want to reserve a spot for. The rest are day-by-day as the daily comes out and are first come, first serve.
  24. I was on the Joy last year, on the cruise after a reduced-speed cruise due to an Azipod issue. I dined in the Manhattan Room 5 of the 7 nights and don't recall a noticeable vibration that would be disturbing. Yes, they will certainly take the opportunity while she's 'dry' to do some service on the Azipods. What level of service I don't personally know.
