  1. Please have them note the sharp drop-off to the left before heading off
  2. It takes a saint to successfully teach junior high students. Condolences to his family.
  3. With an empty bottle of Rioja red between my beautiful wife and I, I must say I remember 2022 like it was yesterday 🙂
  4. Love both of them, both were right! Maybe I ought to get one of those shingles shots, sorry that affliction affected your New Years. The table you set in your photo looks inviting to me, however. Best wishes and heal quickly
  5. me too, always fun to learn something new. Then I found a Canadian website (will post the link below) that offered this answer in response to a question I had WHICH WINE WITH TOURTIERE Whites, sparkling or reds all go with them a tourtière pie. I think its love at first sight: me tourtiere, & whichever wine I'm in the mood to enjoy Link: Best Tourtiere Recipe (canadiancookingadventures.com)
  6. And did you see how clean the tabletop was? Sometimes I wonder what's lurking underneath a tablecloth...
  7. OK then, now for my Western Hemisphere friends
  8. Did you by chance try the salmon main course? It looks like a new method of preparing that fish (Champagne and cream sauce), and I'd love to know if it turned out well.
  9. Responses available: like, thank. or laugh. Just inadequate, where is love? thanks Daveywavey
  10. Reflecting back on 2022, missing our dog Grover, and knowing that many of you also lost loved pets this year.
  11. Plenty of info provided @jssabs the above two posts from well-respected cruise critic members in this forum. They and others here have way more cruising experince than my wife and I. But, I'm going to go out on a limb and say Atlantide might be the closest to the MDR you mention. Whatever, welcome to Silversea forum and I hope you have a wonderful first cruise (we sure did!).
  12. What a beautiful view! I'm sure the lunch was a success.
  13. OK, now another internet search (probably shouldn't start with the Sun as a search term) Please don't be, we admire your energy levels! The photos are superb. The shrimp tempura looked particularly enticing.
  14. It implied to me that the Daily Mail might consider us Americans to be living in hell (when "hell freezes over"). Although I am ignorant about UK newspapers, I think I prefer the London Times' coverage of our current awful weather: https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/bomb-cyclone-us-weather-storm-snow-ice-freeze-travel-chaos-0pxjkl965
  15. Also wishing you a good trip JP. Bizarre weather causing changes already in our family's Christmas, lots of stay at home decisions. 10 day forecast for Richmond shows - this Saturday: high 28 F low 15 F, next Saturday high 64 F low 53 F. Crazy
  16. While usually not an issue, tonight my beautiful wife wanted white, and I was determined to try a French red I'd picked up. An easy solution occurred to me - here's your bottle and here's mine - cheers! We also wish the best to all for the holiday season, whether home alone, or with that special someone, or with extended family, or on board, on the road, or flying off to the UK....
  17. Laughing about misfortune always comes back to haunt. I wish I could say I have never done it, but Mom didn't raise a liar. Saw this on FB, thought it worthy to present here:
  18. Spent Thanksgiving outside Chicago with middle daughter's family. Saturday night was dinner and a show downtown with wife, daughter, and eldest granddaughter (picture below). Dinner at Trivoli Tavern was fantastic, and the Goodman Theater did a great job with "A Christmas Carol"
  19. My gosh, now I have an excuse! Just let me get out my map...
