Anyone done Carnival, how is it?

Walmart is expensive now, the term “Walmart of the seas” needs to be retired. -
Solarium Bistro Restaurant
Thisguylikestocruise replied to HAPPY CRUISEGUY's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Is the food there changed when it’s pinnacle only? I recall a few years ago lunch at Solarium Bistro was unique and different than WJ, it had a Mediterranean theme. Now it’s the exact same food as WJ scaled down. -
Beverage Package-posh coffee

Starbucks at Cafe Promenade is included in drink packages. Limited menu compared to an actual Starbucks. Quality was good. -
Just put an upside down pineapple on your door and get a free rubdown

Am I crazy? Book Mariner instead of Wonder.

Except for yeshiva throughout January. Some solarium bistros are closed for those groups, and other dining venues can be crowded. I think the sweet spot during winter is early December or early February. -

Finding the flow of people on the ship and doing the opposite. Enjoyed late dinners in the WJ and MDR when it was uncrowded. -

I had the opposite experience as Orville. That’s the same person that was convinced a Disney ship was docked at Coco Cay, despite the fact it was docked nearby at Castaway Cay.😂 Wonder is a great ship, can’t wait to get back on. -

I felt Wonder had busy moments sometimes, but wouldn’t describe it as too crowded overall. Always found a seat everywhere we went. We had memorable times at a couple bars all to ourselves and chatted with a friendly bartender who recommended his favorite drinks to us. Enjoyed late dinners uncrowded. Can’t wait to get back on Wonder. -
Drinks based on Milk?
Thisguylikestocruise replied to dunrobbin's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Espresso/chocolate martini, it varies slightly depending who makes it. Lime & coconut. Mudslide. There’s also Irish coffee and you can add baileys to it, sometimes they make it look fancy with whip cream and brown sugar on top. -
They’re in business to make profit, not truly benefit the consumer. Insurance companies have countless reasons to deny claims. Even if you read fine print and think it’s a good policy they can still act in bad faith, and make up false or fraudulent reasons for denial of coverage. (e.g., denying coverage of a medical procedure because it’s not FDA approved, the insurance company will falsely say it’s experimental, even though it’s been widely accepted in the medical community for decades and is considered standard of care.) You can appeal, and seek compensation through legal means if they have bad faith insurance practices that result in delayed treatment and causes unnecessary harm(denying coverage of surgery/physical therapy for a injury that happened during your trip.)

Harmony - vegan food options
Thisguylikestocruise replied to FirstCruise2331's topic in Royal Caribbean International
There’s vegan options on the MDR menu everyday. I found them to be very good. In the WJ there’s a couple items labeled vegan, often similar to what’s being offered in the MDR that day. The remainder of the WJ isn’t labeled and leaves you guessing. Items that are probably vegan are avocado toast, oatmeal, pasta, salad, fruit, potatoes. I saw eggplant dishes, breaded cauliflower wings, stuffed peppers with veggies and rice, all tasted great. Here’s the vegan food from Italian night: -

Black Friday specials turnaround time
Thisguylikestocruise replied to kcmo74's topic in Royal Caribbean International
I saw the refreshment package for $19.99 during Black Friday sales, which is the lowest I’ve seen it. Deluxe beverage package wasn’t a good deal, it dropped a couples weeks after Black Friday for my cruise. -
Where was this on my cruise?

When prices go down…?
Thisguylikestocruise replied to jerick's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Noticed a $1,000 price drop today on Wonder 2/18/24 ocean view balcony. It was almost $5,000 for 2 people recently, still too high though. -
This is from someone else’s YouTube video I was watching of WJ desert on Wonder. I was on Wonder in February and never saw anything like this, no chocolate fondues, or dozens of nicely decorated cakes. Really liked the cruise, but the desert in windjammer was disappointing. Mainly tiny jello cups, slivers of pie, etc. I’ve seen videos of elaborate displays in windjammers. Why is there variance? Is this for special occasions mainly?

On the app go to dining-main dining-MTD-reserve. I think it’s 6:45 start time for all ships but not 100% sure. You watch the safety videos on the app a few hours before your cruise, after you watch them it’ll show a green complete sign on the video, then go to your muster station to confirm you watched the videos, very quick process. Needs to be done day 1 before ship leaves port. The ships Wi-Fi is free for app use, so shouldn’t matter if it’s on airplane mode. You can text people on the app but make sure to go into your phone’s notification settings and have notifications on for the app. Sea passes are on the door when rooms are available 1-2pm. Everyone gets assigned check in times, how strict they are depends on the port. You get on the app 45 days before your cruise and check in, upload a photo of your face similar to what you’d use on a passport photo, passport number, link your credit card, select your boarding time. Put your set sail passes in your apple wallet, or whatever the equivalent is for android. Complete your health questionnaire the day before embarking on the app, few simple questions like are you pregnant or sick. They do 70s parties, when you board look at the apps daily planner do find it and other activities. Menus, drinks, activities, almost everything is on the app.

When prices go down…?
Thisguylikestocruise replied to jerick's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Arriving early to see Rome for 5 nights, and staying in Florence 5 nights after the cruise. 9/16/2024-10/6/2024. Can’t change the dates because of my work schedule. Prefer to leave and return from GSP and connect in ATL, so that would cost extra but I’d choose ATL if the price was much better. $937 would be a great price, I hope I could book it for that.
