  1. For the records the ships can use both LNG and crude and no 2. Not the same, but if the surcharge was applied it is (and was) applied across the board, not per ship. That said, your post does bring up the fact that some (not many) ships use KNG and it may be a factor in them potentially adding a surcharge.
  2. Nice review. Love the Vista and the Havana area even more
  3. If it makes you feel better, they are still 20+ billion in the hole. Does that help?
  4. Takes a good while to eat up all those future OBC’s that churned and churned.
  5. There is more fact than fiction in that statement
  6. Now don’t you go adding facts to a discussion.
  7. I was on the cruise also. Not sure where you were. There WAS special speakers, there WAS special events, Maybe try reading the funtimes.
  8. As far as I know, they only way to improve is to make money. Paying off debt is also a good thing, reclassifying debt with new lower offerings is also a good thing. We can cherry pic the single items to death. The facts are they had their best quarter in years.
  9. Pretty outstanding new for the company. https://cruiseindustrynews.com/cruise-news/2023/09/carnival-corp-releases-2023-q3-earnings-record-revenue/
  10. CC has a very special place in Carnival hearts….. You can read into that however you want. The facts are that there simply is a lot of data, and rumors, and ….. well just junk that gets spewed out. Somehow, they either have to or need to respond to lots of it. Hence, part of John’s job. Prob not the part he likes most.
  11. Might be the easiest, and perhaps arguably the best thing. That said, I would be shocked of that is what they did.
  12. Your last two sentences are exactly why their redo of the loyalty program has never come to fruition.
  13. Not sure whether that is an issue with them, maybe more so with the “paying “ customers.
  14. Me thinks u r missing the point. That die hard loyalist sails with them 3 to 5 times a year, the rookie once every five years. That is Economics 102.
  15. Apparently not even Carnival. This subject has been on the docket for over 10 years. They brought in an outsider who was known for loyalty programs for a major hotel chain. After several years and much effort, they abandoned the project. No idea why, but the obvious reason would be complexity of any future program and grandfathering existing levels in. Things like changing to money spent vs just days, and bonus for cabin types like suites, and difference in cabins purchased vs discounted comps for Ultra and Elite and on and on and on. My personal thoughts are is that it HAS to change as before long the vast majority of the majority of ship will be plat and diamond. Even at 400 days, I do not see them giving free drinks or anything like that. Of course there a ton of options they COULD do, but I will believe it when it is announced.
  16. New cruisers spend WAY more than “experienced” cruisers as a rule.
