  1. That could depend on who the OP actually paid. Most TA's do a pass thru payment to NCL but if the payment shows the TA, then the TA could be held responsible since they didn't deliver. The statement about NCL not knowing how to do discounts is a huge red flag...
  2. Yes, you can use 1 way flights. I did it once for a B2B, no problem initially anyway. However, you might want to consider initially booking flights individually and then cancel what you don't need before you make final payment. I booked a B2B, then there were issues with one leg (long story, NCL cancelled one leg). So when I tried to get the promo airfare both ways for the cruise I was still taking they said nope. This was back when the BOGO airfare wasn't always offered, so it shouldn't be an issue if the promo is currently in effect - but you never know.
  3. It definitely pays to check all the possibilities. I recently found a cruise that offered a solo discount for inside and ov - but not balcony. Booked during a 2 CN/any cabin promo, with 3x points. Price difference between inside and ov wasn't much, but the jump to balcony was worth well over 2K.
  4. The non-random codes seem to be pointing to casino status, hence frequency of Jade, with some pearl and sapphire (person is sapphire with CAS but not NCL) codes mixed in. Obviously there's some sort of glitch however.
  5. 10 day trip from Baltimore isn't scheduled for Portland and Bar Harbor in 2023, but is/was scheduled in 2024 from what I see on Cruisemapper.
  6. 2023 or 2024? I'm not seeing a 2023 cruise that's scheduled for Portland?
  7. I'm on the 11 day from Baltimore, supposed to stop in Bar Harbor, no updates as of yet...
  8. No, your daughter can't use unless her name is on the stock account As long as your B2B has 2 different reservation #s (which is normal), you would get OBC for each leg. Yes, OBC can be used for massage. Can't be used for CN certificates or DSC. There is no connection between booking perks and SH OBC for most guests - for example,TA's that get comped by NCL can't use the credit. link is included on the benefit FAQ document https://www.nclhltd.com/investors/shareholder-benefits
  9. While you could be right, kinda quick to judge since nobody seems to have cracked the code... I did send a message to my PCC, I'm hoping for a 20% discount!
  10. No, they will not substitute the soda package. Only if you have a child or non-drinker (medical reasons) in a room where the other person wants the FAS drink package. I wish they did....
  11. I obviously can't speak to what you were told but I can see the issue. After final payment they may offer a one-time adjustment. Either FCC or a paid upgrade - but not both. So the paid upgrade shouldn't have been allowed in the first place. But good luck getting any response, let alone resolution. My request for FCC was denied but they gave a nonsense reason so I tried to appeal. Nothing but crickets from RD and customer relations.
  12. Maybe. You can book now and then see if you can get a better deal onboard. You would get the pricing/promos available, for better or worse. Balcony upgrade will be for a better location. You might be able to upgrade to family but it's more or less up to the person doing the upgrade, plus the location of your original cabin. I usually book the least expensive but acceptable cabin, then negotiate when I get onboard. They can reprice you to the lowest cabin, then upgrade from there - but you do have to watch the promos.
  13. Yes, they are human, they make mistakes just like the rest of us! I've only had to contact them once about changing my flights, when they had me going to London instead of Stockholm - oops! It was a last minute change of flights due to a pending strike - and my original itinerary had a layover in London. They admitted their mistake and fixed the problem while I was still on the phone (I was leaving in a couple of days).
  14. It appears the story the OP is spinning omits a few details, like they did not buy the insurance that gives FCC, based on the timeline. One and only 1 post - I smell a troll making up stories...
  15. Based on statements made by the OP, they probably bought the Essentials plan, since they said it was added later - when they tried to add excursions. The booksafe plan that covers cancellation and gives FCC is only available up until final payment - so doubtful it was the plan they purchased. There is no provision for refunds so of course their insurance claim was denied.
  16. The point is they are not the same, rules are different. I know that I've always been able to add CNs at any time - but you have to be on a cruise to buy them or buy them from somebody who is reselling. CruiseFirst are much more limited but can be bought through NCL, applied to a future cruise. I don't know if they can be applied to an existing reservation.
  17. Sorry you misunderstood my response. I read quite well, I was agreeing with you.
  18. Done it dozens of times, not a gamble. If it was, there would be an insane number of posts on CC about it. However, if you are actually asking about CruiseFirst certificates ( which I suspect may be the case), then the rules are different.
  19. Never have I ever had NCL frown upon my buffet plate (covered) leaving the buffet. Always get a "enjoy your dinner" from any crew at the exit. Now the Local/O'Sheehans is a different story, they specifically state that no food is to be taken out. MDR & specialty restaurants seem to have varying policies. People got take out containers in Cagneys on my last cruise.
  20. That's what the terms say. In reality you can apply them as payment to anything you've already bookef, if not paid in full. If a double up promo is announced, you can add another if your cruise is eligible. No need to rebook anything.
  21. Good luck with that. They messed up my onboard upgrade while I was onboard and when I tried to fix it stateside, I got a flat no. Took way too much time and effort to get it fixed and only because it was pretty obvious they screwed up.
  22. Totally depends on the staff - I had one manager who spent a considerable amount of time going over all of my upcoming cruises (about 5 at the time). Went through each one, looking up price changes, room upgrades, promos, discounts. He seemed to enjoy saving people money outside of the CN sales pitch. Next cruise, the staff was awful (manager was leaving at the end, might have had something to do with it). When I wanted to reprice, they asked me if I was sure - well duh, lower price, same or better perks??? Then they totally messed up the onboard upgrade and I had to deal with that stateside. The excuse given was absolutely pathetic!
