  1. I agree - might be too much of a drive-by kind of thing to make it really worthwhile
  2. Has anyone done the last cruise day excursion to El Yunque Natl Forest with transfer to the airport in San Juan? Or have opinion on the park in general? We're doing Boston to San Juan cruise in October and plan on flying home the day we disembark. The total excursion time shows as 5 hours. We're wondering if it's worth arranging our flight time home around this experience.
  3. Yup, that's exactly what happened...my TA called Windstar and we got the all-in packages, didn't have to cancel and re-book. We hadn't made final payment yet and more than 180 days from sailing, so it worked😀
  4. That is such great info! I thought that travel insurance was completely inflexible. I’ll call Allianz & if insurance is transferrable to a new booking, I’ll see what cabins are available if I cancel & rebook👍
  5. Yes, I saw this offer on Windstar website. My husband and I are booked on a cruise at the end of October 2024 and were planning to purchase an All-In package for me closer to sailing date. We purchased a somewhat expensive "cancel for any reason" insurance policy from Allianz, and that is non-refundable. So will have to figure out calculations as to whether it makes financial sense for us to cancel and re-book with the same level of insurance coverage. Off the top of my head, I'm thinking it won't make sense and we'll stick with our original booking.
  6. Oh, duh....I should have realized you meant centigrade! Glad to hear it...April it is (or maybe October) when we finally get to Greece.
  7. When you mention temperatures in the 30s in Greece, was that in April? Greece and Turkey are on our wish lists for a WS cruise and were definitely looking at April as a way to avoid hordes of people. We saw April as a shoulder season with mild and pleasant sightseeing weather in that part of the world.
  8. Thanks for these pictures...looks a little challenging but very doable.
  9. Interested to see this topic - my husband & I, both in our 70s. will be there on Star Pride in late October. I also wondered about how difficult it is. I’m more of a sun & beach person than he is, so I’ll probably go for it while he sits it out on the ship😏
  10. Even though I fret about an itinerary change, I think you are absolutely correct about that.
  11. I have no first hand experience but....Not sure if I saw it here or on Facebook recently, but someone mentioned being bothered by the noise below them in the galley.
  12. Thanks for that info...glad to see that you've had good experience with Allianz. One of our fears, probably unfounded, is that in case of very bad weather forecast, Windstar would re-route this cruise up the Maine coast into Canada, which is the itinerary the ship takes just prior to this cruise. No offense to the great cities of Portland and Bar Harbor, but I've been to both places many times!! We have friends who have a summer home on Westport Island (including a boat)....beautiful place. See you on board😀
  13. Yes, we basically have until the end of next week. Thanks..will check out that website.
  14. Just booked cabin 544 on Deck 5 today! Cruise isn't until October so who knows what it will be like by then...but obviously would be interested to know if this cabin has had this problem
  15. We have just booked a cruise from Boston to the Caribbean for October, and want to purchase travel insurance that will cover us if we cancel for any reason, not just the usual "covered reasons". I have a quote from Allianz which is pretty pricey. I expected this kind of insurance upgrade to be expensive, but am wondering if there are other reputable ins. companies that might offer this. Since this itinerary is all about the weather, our primary concern is bad weather which would either make our trip unenjoyable or that Windstar will change the itinerary altogether. The insurance we've purchased before from our TA doesn't offer this option.
  16. Glad I saw this post re: one of the SP cabins...considering these for a Boston to San Juan cruise in the fall of 2024. Did the tenders affect your view or noise level in Cabin 303? and did you hear noise from the anchor? This cruise has several days of tendering.
  17. We had been considering this cruise for October of this year…so now it looks like it’s 2024 or never
  18. Just as a note...you don't have to buy all inclusive package for both people in a cabin. We were on the Windsurf in May, and bought just one all in package under my name. So my husband could use internet when I wasn't using it.
  19. Thanks everyone - I get it now, not at all the same thing as hotel adjoining rooms. Good to know👍
  20. We're inexperienced cruisers - have only been on the Wind Surf. Looking at deck plans for the motor yachts, appears that majority of the cabins are adjoining suites. I've always avoided adjoining rooms in hotels since there's noticeably less privacy between the two rooms. But since there are so many adjoining suites on these motor yachts, I'm guessing (hoping) that this isn't the same issue on the ships?
  21. We stayed in a suite on the Wind Surf in May - considerably more expensive than regular cabins but we thought cabins would be small for us. We didn’t regret the decision- and having 2 bathrooms was great.
  22. We were in Suite 330 in May — no complaints at all about the location. We’ve booked that same location for our next cruise
  23. Seems like a great deal if one of the cruises listed is of interest. Will have to think about the Spain itinerary, but looks great to me
  24. I took it to mean that Yacht Club members would get 20% off the listed price for that particular sailing date. But maybe I'm wrong - 20% is a heck of a discount!
