So, 10:50 and still people disembarking, come on lol it’s our turn lol. Haven lounge has several different snacks from sandwiches and cookies fresh fruit and different type of breads. Coffee orange juice tea also available.

So, we arrived at the terminal at approximately 9am, dropped off our luggage parked the truck and went straight into the Haven entrance. Check in was simple and easy and took all of about 15 minutes from truck to Haven area in terminal. It’s now 10am and still see people disembarking the ship which seems late to me. Will update once we start to board, by the way I think the new Miami terminal is amazing!

And the journey to Miami begins.

So, 3 days out 1 day away from our drive down to Miami. Have almost everything packed and ready. This will be the first time I get off work and start driving, typically we would start the morning before our cruise and do the 10 hour drive in one shot and get to Miami about 3 or 4pm, but this time with 2 teenagers with my wife and I, opted to split up the drive. I think my wife and I are more excited for the teenagers then we are as we have been on many cruises and this will be their first. I always am in awe when you walk into the terminal and can see just how massive these ships are. Neither of the teenagers have ever seen a Cruise ship up close so we are going to try and catch their reaction. Also, their first cruise and being able to stay in a Haven suite! Our oldest (21) has cruised with us several times and the last cruise (which we told him and his girfriend this would be the last we pay for lol) we booked them their own Haven courtyard suite on the Breakaway not telling them about it and it was a shock to them when we arrived. Our oldest after the cruise said he want to work hard in life so he can enjoy things like the Haven on his own dime. The excitement is building, and just cant wait to be onboard and share my families journey with everyone!

So depending on how many ships are in port that day A la cart can be difficult. Paradise beach gets packed when there are 6 7 or even 8 ships in. Places will take reservations such as Paradise beach and then refuse A La Cart entries. We will be in Cozumel next week on the Joy along with 5 other ships. So have a feeling it will be packed.

I know, but look at the activity, most of it is mine and maybe one or two others.

This is so true! We won Haven bids past 2 NCL Cruises, this one we simply booked it lol...First time in Aft Facing Haven suite, I know people say the vibration, but i worked on board cruise ships for 5 years, and never had a vibration that affected me to the point it impacted the actual vactation

So no matter how many bags if its my wife and I or my wife and kids with us, we tip $20 for all the bags. Again, Tipping is open for debate, i like to do it but doesnt mean its right or wrong.

So, Have work today tomorrow and Thursday and sitting at my desk in my office I catch myself watching the Ships arrive in the morning at port. Been Spying the Joy's Forward Facing Webcam waiting to watch it arrive into Harvest Cay this morning...Officially check out of work lol. So As I mentioned we will be leaving Thursday at 3:30pm to start our Drive From North Carolina down to Miami. The goal is to make it to at least Jacksonville Thursday evening but depending on traffic and if we are making good time may push it to Daytona Beach. If it was just my wife and I traveling we would have driven straight through to Miami but traveling with our 16 year old daughter and her 17 year old friend that seems like a little much for them. We decided to not even book a room for the 1st leg of the drive so we can simply stop when we want to for the night. 2 more days and we get to leave, dear lord these last few days will drag!!!!

If you are looking for more loving areas, try the forward facing haven suite, not in the haven complex but room is great, true 1 bedroom suite

So club balcony is basically a balcony with a bigger bathroom, also has a few perks. Joy has suites , included concierge’s service and priority boarding and debark, haven suites are top of the line for NCL, priority everything, butler, concierge, private restaurant, pool, sundeck, observation lounge on some ships.

Well, the last Live Review I attempted was on the Getaway out of Port Canaveral, but that cruise got canceled last September due to hurricane. Pretty sure we are safe for this sailing on the Joy. This Cruise my Wife and I will be traveling with our 16 year daughter (Her 1st cruise ever) and her 17 year old friend (also 1st cruise). Wife and I cruise a lot mainly on NCL but have cruised RCCL, Princess, and Carnival as well but prefer NCL. We will be staying in the Aft Facing Haven suite, 1st time in this suite but our past 2 NCL cruises have both been in the Haven on the Breakaway. We live in a town called Kings Mountain NC, pretty much about 25 minutes outside of Charlotte. We will be driving down to Miami, so we decided we will leave about 3:30pm on Thursday and drive just south of Jacksonville and stop for the night and finish the drive Friday morning to Miami. We Plan on being in Miami about 2 or 3pm, hopefully time to get checked in, we will be staying at the YVE downtown Miami right across from Biscayne Market Place. I am hoping to be able to upload lots pics starting the day we leave for Miami all the way through the cruise.

Yea, From Working on Cruise Ships for years as well as cruising Coxen Hole very rarely you will miss. Costa Maya on the other hand I have missed that port almost as many times as not being able to tender in Grand Cayman lol

Yea I was looking at Costa maya cruise ship schedule and had Joy on it for today with 3 other ships, also next week was also still on their schedule again with 3 other ships. My guess is they were concerned overcrowding of the port. When we go the week of the 8th only one other ship in with us so guess we are still going.

So my opinion is the only people I get upset with is the ones that come out at 7am claim chairs and don’t come back for hours. Wife and I are always on deck early so never a problem getting a chair. We watch for entertainment how long things stay on chairs with nobody there. We will be by the pool and will run to grab food, go on slides, and other things but never gone for too long.

I am curiouse as well, We are on the sailing after you on the 8th, honestly GSC would be much better
