  1. Book NCL 2 drinks per card every 5 minutes! No limits lol
  2. So 20 30 minutes is a bit of an exaggeration. Wife and I are typically beer drinkers by the pool and after the first afternoon bartenders would see us walk up and already have the beers ready no matter the line. We do tip. Pretty much drop a $20 on embarkation day at the pool bar and never wait.
  3. I figure it this way, minimum 3 meals a day served by your waitstaff plus your room steward, $20 pep person per day for tips is not a lot. Imagine eating out at restaurants on land 3 meals per day, you’re telling me that you would spend $40 in gratuities combined?
  4. Haven bar is always open in port as well as the pool sundeck and hot tubs
  5. Just remember its about a 8 hour sail from the port of new orleans to international water so the tax will ass up more then sailing out of say port of miami or port everglades.
  6. So Again all up to what your expectations are. I have cruised almost all lines since I was about 10 years old. Carnival in my opinion attracts a younger cliental especially on shorter sailings. My wife and I never cruise for less then 7 days, and are in our early 40s with children that are almost all grown, youngest is 16 turning 17. Wife and I have cruised recently the Dream ad the Glory as well as NCL Breakaway several times and have another booked on the Joy for April. We love to have a great time by the pool, enjoy our drinks and the nightlife, but with that being said, we also do not like the extrmely intoxicated people throwing up in trash cans or even in the hot tubs( seen this several times) Carnival does a lot right, but there entertainment is subpar vs say RCCL and NCL. Last 2 on NCL and our cruise in April we are staying in the HAVEN, and love the ship within a ship which Carnival really doesnt offer. But would we cruise carnival again? Absolutely, but would be on a new ship and at least a 7 day sailing. Also, once you factor in the Drink package if you purchase it NCL comes out cheaper ususally on larger newer ships. RCCL Drink package is very very high
  7. Thanks only bidding on the owners suite as its the only one we want. Thanks for the info
  8. So I have won Upgrades into the Haven before, But this cruise we are already in the Haven, Aft facing Haven suite. Thinking of going for an upgrade to the Owners suite with large Balcony, but it shows sold out. has anyone very actually won a bid upgrade for a category that is showing sold out?
  9. This depends, wife and I value the space over the location in the Haven. The forward facing has a great bedroom living area hige bathroom the only downside is the balcony is very small. You’re all the way forward so quick elevator ride and you’re in the haven complex. Our next cruise we are staying in an aft facing haven suite and can’t wait
  10. Last time we negotiated it to about $50 or $55 for about 35 or 40 minutes. But they will also give you a break if you rent multiple jets skis at one time
  11. Not to mention port of Miami hotels prices also depend on how many ships are in port the day. We are leaving on April 8th out of Miami and there are 8 ships in port that day. We also chose YVE because of location and price. We got the bay view room 2 double beds for $300 all in. But when we have left out of Miami say only 2 ships in was about $100 cheaper
  12. We drive from Charlotte NC to port Miami to cruise. We always drive in the day before even when we used to only have a 5 hour drive when we lived in Mississippi cruising out of New Orleans. Never know you could have car trouble or anything can happen. Plus, love waking up day of cruise right next to the port, opening the windows and seeing the ship after a great night sleep rested to start our vacation.
  13. I believe that is still allowed, also depending on ship some have a cigar lounge also. Pool deck smoking areas is fine too
  14. I agree, I have cruised many lines such as Princess, Carnival, RCCL, Norwegian and a fee from years ago that are no in service anymore. Our choice is NCL for many reasons mostly personal preference. Will I cruise another line? Yes if I have to, like when my September sailing on the Getaway was canceled due to a hurricane we sailed 2 days later on the Symphony of the seas had a great time but our preference is always NCL. I like to stick with what i know i enjoy
  15. First of all the boat drill for passengers on embarkation is for the passengers by law! Crew also must complete a crew only boat drill every 7 days, which also include any one of the emergency situations that may occur, coda Alpha, Oscar etc…that drill lasts anywhere from an hour to 2 hours depending on the simulation.
  16. Omg everyone is proving my point about not knowing anything about why passenger drills are conducted
  17. Reading all of these as Ex crew on cruise ships makes me laugh!!!!!!
  18. So we are on the Joy in April and was wondering if anyone can give me info on the pricing for the karts, laser tag and the VR arcade. I understand the VR arcade is sold for 90 minute session or for the week. Thanks for all the help
  19. I have cruise almost every line out there, I am almost 44 years old and still return to NCL most of the time because of 2 main reasons. One, the drink package is truly unlimited, Carnival ( not sure all the companies brands) limits to 15 per day (yes a lot for some but not for my wife an I on vacation)Two, Price, after you incorporate drink packages and specialty dining NCL in my opinion comes out less..I will say we have the Joy booked in for April in the Haven, but we are taking a shot at MSC yacht club simply because it is a few thousand cheaper.
  20. I agree, RCCL Drink package is insane! But the funny part is watching after day 2 people trying to buy it but you can only buy it on the ship during the first 2 days
  21. December was the lowest and the second was march
  22. I have won 2 haven bids before and never bid higher then the lowest possible fair bid
