  1. Honestly it depends sometimes on the staff, I have never tried but have heard some say yes and some say no…maybe someone will have more insight
  2. So when it comes to service, do not compare POA to the international ships...100% totally differant
  3. I get the drink package point with Princess, but some of your other points Water has NEVER been included in the Drink package that comes with the FAS...so not sure why that would be a shock Understaffed...I am sure they were...just like every other business on sea and on land. Excursions: NCL does not own the tour operators that do the excursions...but to your point if they are that bad they need to be brought to the attention of the ship as they will and do suspend tours of there is enough complaints about them. Disembarkation: This again can go smoothly or horrible: A lot of this depends on the staffing levels of CBP. I have had good and bad disembarkations on every Cruise Line As far as people saying they will never sail again on NCL....that is their option where to spend there hard earned money. I will never say I will never sail a certain cruise line, but i do have preferences. We were on the Joy in April during Spring Break week, ship was absolutely slammed packed, but we expected that. Was some service a little slower, sure, but had an amazing vacation.
  4. So what your saying it is NCL's fault that you did not read the cruise contract or pricing information and what it included before paying? Carnival has a cheers package, but if you dont read the fine print you will not know that it is capped at 15 drinks, also they dont tell you that even without the cheers package you are also capped at 15 drinks per day. Also you say NCL has Shady business practices? Well if that is your thoughts on the matter why would you ever do business with a company like that?
  5. Exactly, my last cruise we upgraded to the Haven about 100 days out, got the lowest price available, within 2 weeks all Haven Suites were sold out. If you want the Haven, and its within your means dont take a chance thinking you will win a bid on one, slim to none now a days.
  6. Can only speak for US site, so do a mock booking and choose a haven suite, then when it gives you the room number, there will be a tan that says choose another cabin, this will then bring you to a choice of forward or aft, then deck number. It will bring up a deck plan showing alll haven suites in that deck,
  7. Haven upgrades have turned out to be much much harder than say a year ago. Watch the rates. Check the inventory for the Haven every day, if the cabin count is not going down you will see reductions in the rate so they can fill it. That’s how we upgraded from balcony to haven last 2 cruises. But make sure you check every day, one day there where 35 haven the next day when prices reduced there were only 7 available by the time I booked
  8. We are looking forward to the Grotto on the escape in January. Joy doesnt have one they have an enourmas hot tub
  9. Most reviews i see that are bad about the Pearl Class and the Dawn Class are people who cruise the BRekaway and Breakaway Plus class ships first. I for one, Have sailed on the Star and Dawn before...loved them, but since sailing on the BReakaway several times and the Joy and our next on the escape will only sail ships that were built with the Haven
  10. We were on the Joy Aft Haven Suite and never spent any time in the Observation lounges. Escape in January and know we wont miss it.
  11. I agree, We are booked on the Escape for January, just got back from the Joy during Spring break time in April. Was the Ship busy, sure!!! Pools were crowded on sea days but we never had any issues really. I think alot of people would like to see the occupancy levels like they were during the restart after Covid but thats just not going to Happen. If you dont like the crowds, stay away from the Main Pool deck during sea days, find a quiet place. Spice H20 on the Joy was great, never insanely packed and was never to long a line to get a drink.
  12. was just there a few weeks ago, did not see any for purchase. If you wanted to Purchase them morning or day before you get on ship and check them as luggage and simply leave them behind.
  13. When we got off the Joy in April in Miami Disembarkation was differant then anything i ever seen. When you scanned your face at the Gangway, there was one Customs officers there, if it went green you walked off, red had to show Identification to Customs agent. In our group i was the only one traveling with a passport and i was green the other 6 in our group traveled with birth certificates and they all went red. But once checked you were done, no checks in the terminal.
  14. Can speak for the escape but we were on the joy a few weeks ago and cabins were ready by 1:30pm and embarkation began at noon, so not to bad
  15. When you book a guaranteed cabin you absolutely get the FAS, only sail away doesn’t get FAS
  16. Also depends what cabin, Haven has separate shampoo conditioner and body wash
  17. Does it say Guarentee? If not look below and it should say choose a differant cabin. If neither are there mean may be the last one in that cateory
  18. Well done the breakaway never the Prima. If itinerary is the same I would give the Prima a shot. What cabin are you looking at? If Haven I would absolutely try the Prima, done Haven on Breakaway and the Joy and loves both but Prima Haven looks even better
  19. Just wait in the line, those without reservations will either be seated or given a pager just like on land
  20. You will loose the discount. When you get on the ship ask for an extra key for whatever room you are sharing. Just remember your original key card will be the one you use for onboard charges
  21. Depends on what you consider VIP? So Miami Cruise Port, There is a separate entrance for Haven, Separate Security screening, separate check in, and also separate Lounge/Waiting area. When we boarded 2 weeks ago only people we seen in Haven area where Haven Guests.
  22. Have Cruised several times in the Haven on the Breakway, inside the Haven as well as in a Forward facing Haven Suite. Haven was great!!!! Lounge and Bar on on the same floor unlike the Breakaway plus ships. They have seating out by the pool for Haven Restaurant meals as well. Sun Deck was great, although no hot tub on the BReakaway on the outer Sundeck. Still an amazing complex!
  23. We just stayed there 2 weeks ago, can’t beat the location, little bar restaurant downstairs, rooms are small and elevators slow but was perfect location for pre cruise stay
  24. 1.5 to 2 hours usually, but then again I never rush dinner, it’s so enjoyable to sit and relax having a nice meal with conversation and friends and family
