  1. I am curiouse as well. We are scheduled to sail on the Escape in january, but before final payment we can sail the Epic in the Deluxe Owners Suite for the same price as the 2 bedroom on the Escape. And i have heard the Epic has the best Haven complex
  2. Don't miss out on Q....we went last april on the Joy, Live band was great and the food was very good as well and the portions are big!
  3. I sailed in April on the Joy and we had our teen daughter out on the sofa bed in the aft suite. Bed was put away each morning and also taken out at night.
  4. Glad to see this pic, we are also traveling on the Escape in the 2 bedroom with another couple. We have had the 2 bedroom before but was just the wife and I. Sofa bed looks like it can accomadate 2 people
  5. We always over pack for cruises. Used to wear slacks and dress shirts every night for dinner and wife would wear a sundress or one ore two nights something more fancy. Our next i am bring 2 pairs of slacks and 2 dress shirts. rest of the nights, nice shorts and polo shirts for dinner. We live in our bathing suits during the day either on the ship or in port...Always had 2 full suit cases, a garment bag plus carry on...January our goal is one suitcase and carryon
  6. we had a great time on the JOy this past April! Had a Aft facing Haven suite and traveled with 3 other people that stayed outside the Haven. We loved the Shade in SpiceH20! Booked on the Escape for January also in the Haven this time a 2 bedroom suite. The couple that we went with seen the Haven and our cabin and had to book, so we decided save some money and get the 2 bedroom suite.
  7. So I have cruised Multiple times with NCL and also with RCCL. I wil say for my wife and I we enjoy NCL better especially because of the Haven!. Mostly everything between NCL and RCCL is similar with the exception of a few things: 1 The Ships! RCCL Oasis class ships have that WOW factor. Now with that being said, we cruised on the Symphony of the seas and yes it WOW the hell out of us, we would never cruise that class again. NCLS Breakaway and Breakaway+ ships are the perfect size for us 2 Entertainment. RCCL Oasis class ships i thought the entertainment was much better simply because it had amazing venues to host the shows like the Ice skating show and Aqua Show. I do like NCLs music venues better though like Sid Normans If you were to compare RCCL's Freedom Class Ships against NCL and breakaway and breakaway+ class ships I would say NCL has the advantage.
  8. I agree, but one thing that is good is its a 10 day sailing, usually longer cruises have less kids. Also, what spring break? College or High school. We went last April on the Joy and yes there was a lot of kids but not the college age, more elementary and High school age.
  9. I am a first time MSC cruiser, typically Haven on NCL but with the prices these days we are giving the YC a chance with MSC. I researched the cruise we wanted the cabin we wanted and then called and spoke with a MSC agent. I have to say it went smooth as silk. I had just tier matched to MSC but wasn't showing up at the time, the agent still gave us the 5% discount for being Gold, and also the additional 5% for booking more then 9 months out. We booked an inside YC on the Seascape, we chose the inside because its our first MSC cruise and also couldn't beat the price ( $3200) for a 7 day cruise in the YC. NCL Balcony was going for $3700. If all goes well, with MSC may never go back to NCL Haven
  10. We were on the breakaway right after cruises resumed after covid and we ended up leaving at almost midnight, and we actyally got to see the mouth of the Mississippi. honestly wasn't a big deal to us
  11. So cruising both CCL and NCL out of New Orleans here is my opinion. Glory compared to breakaway as a ship, hands down goes to the breakaway! Food? I am not picky but would give NCL the edge because of variety of restaurants. But we like about carnival is the food choices right on the pool deck! Entertainment, breakaway hands down. Drink package with ncl allows 2 drinks per card about every 5 minutes, carnival caps at 15 alcohol drinks but does include specialty coffees and water but at a cost of about 900 for a 7 day cruise. Wife and I are drinkers on vacation so drink package goes to NCL. We prefer ncl for several reason but #1 reason is the Haven. We have sailed in the haven our last 3 cruises and 4th booked for January.
  12. I remember when I worked onboard NCL and we would dock in St George for 3 overnights! always loved St George! trying to remember the Bar right at the Dock we all as crew would end up at after the nightly entertainment was done on the ship.
  13. We are on the Escape in January 2 bedroom Haven Suite. We booked with another couple who have never stayed in the Haven. Wife and I covered $5500 and the other couple covered $3500, so we get the master lol. But we will all enjoy the amazing bathroom in the 2 bedroom Haven suite. I swear I book this suite simply for the floor to ceiling windows in the bathroom
  14. Thanks for the info. We are long passed the days of three outifits. Wife and I live in the our bathing suits most of the day and then change into our night time attire. I will bring a suit or 2 as MSC seems to be a little more dressy then NCL. Wife wears a dress almost every night so easy to pack them lol
  15. We are Haven Cruisers, have our next in January on the escape but will most likely be our last as we have MSC Yacht club booked for our next one. We were able to get an Inside YC suite ( i know no balcony) cheaper then a regulars balcony on NCL. MSC Tier Matched us so we will be Gold after just one cruise with them. I am hoping the YC lives up to what i hear from everyone else.
  16. Its hit or miss if they ask, wife and I traveled with my stepdaughter (16) and her friend (17) on NCL last April. We had all the paperwork completed and notorized, and was never asked for it by the terminal staff. But always better to have it then not.
  17. I can say for the majority of Caribbean ports there is no taxes off the drink packages. But absolutely on embarkation day there is taxes on all drinks till you leave US waters.
  18. Yes, outside entrance will be a person with a haven sign flag, they will ask your names and then bring you into a seperate area where you will go up an elevator then through private security and check in. Then after that up an escalator or elevator to the lounge where you will wait to board
  19. We are booked on the Escape first week of January! Thanks for the review. Wife and I have been on Breakaway several times and the Joy as well the past few years, all Haven Suites. Looking forward to the Escape 2 Bedroom Haven this time around.
  20. We status matched prior to ever booking was assigned sliver which gave us the 5% plus booked more then 9 months out so got another 5%. Able to get YC inside for $3200. First time trying MSC so we went with the cheapest cabin in YC. We usually cruise I. The Haven on NcL but there prices have gotten stupid
  21. Honestly we took our daughters friend 17 on a cruise with us in April. I filled out all paperwork, and eve had a legal documented drafted and notarized just in case...NCL nor anyone else ever asked for it during embarkation or disembarkation. But always better to have it then not.
  22. So I recently took my daughter and her friend (17) on a cruise with my wife. We had gotten the Consent form as well as photos of her parents IDs and had them prepared when asked. When we checked in, nothing was asked for. I always am prepared just in case.
  23. We are in the YC next September for first time and also First MSC Cruise ( Typically Haven on NCL but for YC for $3200 could pass it up for 7 night cruise) Glad to hear that Beer is stocked daily as my wife and I are typically beer drinkers.
  24. Harvest Cay is very Hot, We were there in April and we were the last ship of the season due to the heat. The Pool is huge and amazing has a swim up bar as well ($$$). They have Kayak rentals as well as solar powered 2 person boats which were fun and not to expensive. The beach is great! The walk is pretty good from gangway to the pool area, but they also have a shuttle if you dont mind waiting for it.
  25. I am booked on the Escape for January 2024, Everything I see regarding the Epic is either you love it or hate it. We decided to stay with the Breakaway + ships since we already know them. Would like to here some comments from people who have sailed the EPic
