  1. Did you put in multiple bids and only 1 is still pending? My past experience that means you have won that upgrade.
  2. We were on the joy in April and I must have gotten 5 or 6 emails at least, but I also had 4 in the cabin all using my email lol
  3. Assuming you have the Aft Facing Haven Suite? We had that on the Joy and absolutly loved the Huge Balcony. We are on the Escape January 6th, this time in the 2 bedroom Haven Suite.
  4. On Sea days it opens in the afternoon, port days usually not till the ship leaves. We loved this place! its hidden away pretty much so does not get crazy busy like the other bars.
  5. So digging deeper, The Getaway is on the Schedule to dock on the 8th but the NCL website shows it is a sea day. So should only be 2 in port at Taino Bay when we get there.
  6. Cruisedig shows all ships for Puerto Plata, So check there and then check which ships are in Amber cove. We are there January 8th 2024 and shows 4 ships in Puerto Plata and only one going to Amer Cove. I know only 2 ships can dock in Taino Bay so either a second one will go to Amber Cove, or 2 docked and one tendering....we are the second ship to arrive at Taino Bay.
  7. Thanks so much. We are there with another ship but luckily we are the 1st to arrive. We also stay in the Haven on NCL so we can be the first off the ship and will hopefully get a daybed. Will update when we arrive on January 8th
  8. So we will be arriving on January 8th and was wondering of the day beds by the pool or free or for a fee? Was hoping someone would be able ot help me out with this. thansk again
  9. I am with you! 44 years old, get me on those slides, ropes courses, go karts or whatever else is fun!!!
  10. I book CAS all the time and still have upgrade offers
  11. So not sure what your budget is, but we have booked the Best Western ocean front in Coco beach. 2 couples in a junior suite and was $297. Less then 3 miles to the port and right on the beach with plenty of entertainment within walking distance
  12. I have stayed in the Aft Haven suite and so far my favorite. The balcony is huge!!!!!!!
  13. I can not say anything about the Height and Weight, but be warned 0 jewelry allowed also no plastic, so if you have any plastic on your swimsuit they will not let you on.
  14. We leave on the 6th of January out of PC, Friday the 5th there are 5 ships in and Saturday the day we leave 6 ships. Should be interesting as usual lol. At least we can sit down by the port on friday afternoon wit drinks and watch the ships cruise out to sea lol
  15. We will be there in January on the Escape. We plan on staying at the pool area for most of the day but glad to hear that Umbrella street and Pink Alley are walking distance.
  16. Thanks we are on the Sam itinerary January 6th 2024. First time on the Escape, but Sailed many times on NCL. We have a 2 Bedroom Haven Suite and will also hopefully do a Live Review as well.
  17. The Drink Tax like others have said will be applied when still in US Waters. So sailing out of Miami, Port Canaveral, and Port Everglades you will be taxed until you hit International Waters. Doesn't take long to get out there but if you board at noon anticipate about 70 cents for each drink. Now sailing out of new orleans it take 6 to 8 hours to hit international waters, noon till around midnight.
  18. Always fun receiving the luggage tags in the mail, we usually receive them about a month out.
  19. Wife and I also pack early as hell lol! We leave on January 5th for our cruise on the Escape on the 6th out of Port Canaveral. We start getting all our stuff out at least a month out lol. This cruise once again we have Booked the Haven and we have the 2 bedroom suite with another couple! Their first time in the Haven it’s our 5th. Pack early and let the excitement build
  20. The Haven is not adults only. The Outdoor Sundeck in the Haven is 16 and over. On the Joy in April there was an adults only pool on the pool deck and the lifeguard actually enforced it. Breakaway and Breakaway Plus ships do not have a adults only solarium area like RCCL
  21. I thought the “Sailaway cabin category was the cruise with no perks? Am I wrong
  22. Every port is different, New Orleans for example in my opinion is the worst. Terminal is small and fills up very fast and if the debark is delayed at all you will be waiting in line outside the terminal. Miami is in my opinion the best. Cruise several lines out of Miami and fast and easy to get through as the terminals are much larger. we are out of port Canaveral in January on the escape in the Haven and I like the seperate haven entrance for this terminal
  23. When I worked on Cruises we loved Dead Heads! Gave the crew time to relax a bit but also gave us time to get things done without having any guests on board. I was on the last sailing of the Norwegian Crown before it was sold to Fred Olson Cruise Lines, and that last dead head was a huge party!
  24. Thanks, I have already checked the port schedule and that Friday there are 5 ships leaving, Starting as early as 3:30pm. After a 7.5 hour drive from Charlotte NC, we will enjoy some food and drinks to officially kick off our vacations. 60 days till we leave for Port Canaveral
