  1. We are on the escape January 6th. 1st time on the escape but have cruised the Joy and the Breakaway several times. Looks like the ropes course on the Escape is larger then the one on the Breakaway!. Loving your review!
  2. So we will be o. The escape in a couple weeks and loved the ropes course on the breakaway! Lots of fun! The slides are awesome too, be beware, make sure you don’t touch the slide when the floor drops and my amazing wife didn’t make it through the loop and had to be taken out through a capsule lol!
  3. When renting the kayaks or electric boats you do a loop around the entire lagoon. There is no side channels as they are all blocked either by land or by inflatable walls
  4. 10:30am now, 2 ships docked. Figure if lucky all ships may be in by around 12:30 to 1pm. If I was arriving today for embarkation I wouldn’t even get there till earliest around 3pm.
  5. Sorry to hear about the delay. Been watching the port cam and see the tugs leave out but that’s about it
  6. So I woke up and went to check the cruise cam at port of Miami and noticed no ships. Port of Miami is currently close so debark and embark will be delayed. There is currently 8 ships waiting outside the port to enter. Debark and embark is gonna be a mess today. Anyone have any updates from the cruise lines?
  7. So Port of Miami currently closed and 8 ships waiting to enter. Looks like debark and embark today is going to be a huge mess!
  8. So just did our online check in and this time we simply did it from our app on our phone, so much easier. I say that because when I used my laptop precise cruise I could never get the picture to accept. This time 1st time for both my wife and I accepted and done.
  9. Bidding is only cheaper when there are a higher amount of inventory usually. We won a haven bid right around the restart after Covid for far less then what we could have upgraded for. Then the next cruise we simply paid the upgrade as the price dropped. This next cruise January 6th, we got the 2 bedroom haven suite for 4 people for a little over 8k. We are traveling with friends so we simply split the price, and whoever wanted the master bedroom paid a little more…
  10. Been following this post as we are on the Escape January 6th. Weather looks bad for tomorrow, watching the Nassau port Web Cam looks like almost all ships scheduled there today missed the port. I watched the Ships leave last night and all ships had tugs available to assist as the wind was blowing pretty good.
  11. I know from experience Wife and I had dining Package and where traveling with our daughter and her friend 16 and 17, We asked if we could use our 4 dining credits for the 4 of us and were instructed we couldn't. Not a big deal all we do now is purchase the dining prior to cruise. Well worth it.
  12. I was under the impression Specialty dining was no transferable, but I could be wrong.
  13. lol, that is one of my pet peeves, it is not a boat it is a Ship! lol all in fun
  14. I was on the Joy in April, Spice H2O was our place. It has a Huge Hot Tub instead of the Water Feature like on other Breakaway and Breakaway+ ships. I haven't been on the Encore yet but have been on the Breakaway and will be sailing on the Escape beginning of January. Not Have Spice H2O would bother me so I would Choose Joy
  15. We returned to miami from a cruise a few days after the flooding in April in Ft Lauderdale. We drive to ports so always park on higher floors. Also make sure you fill your gas tank before entering the port, we made this mistake in April and driving home we couldnt find gas becasue of the flooding. eventually did but was a hassle
  16. Typically no, Most people that cruise only get the Vaccinations that are mandated.
  17. They never want to miss private islands as all revenue goes to NCL. Tender ports are hit and miss depending on wind and swells. Grand Cayman is a 50/50 shot a lot of the times. When I worked onboard ships grand cayman was a coin toss if we made it.
  18. Thanks to the poster that confirmed escape missed GSC. Hopefully when we go there in January we will be able to make the stop
  19. So looking at Cruisemapper, Looks like the escape is off the coast off Freeport but was scheduled to be in GSC this morning. Anyone know if They missed it again?
  20. So My opinion again would be based off the persons interests and how active they are. Also, I always tell first time cruisers to avoid going on Ships like the Oasis class as there first cruise because then there second if not on an Oasis class or ship that size may be a let down. I think a good size ship for a first time cruiser is between 110,000 tons and 160,000 tons. Big enough for the WOW factor when arriving at the terminal, and also leaves room for them to go bigger if they want. As far as which cruise line, that all depends on personality as well as expectations. I have cruised all the main stream lines and I can say there are many more similarities then differences. Personally we mainly cruise either NCL or RCCL. Mainly because we like the activities on these ships such as water slides, ropes courses, Surf/boogie board wave simulator etc. Also both NCL and RCCL drink packages are truly unlimited as well work on their private islands, as all Carnival Corp ships they cap you at 15 per day and do not work on the private islands. I have been cruising since i was 10 years old, and now at 44 my wife and I prefer cruising in the NCL Haven as we love all the high energy activity on NCL ships but also love the Privacy and Ship within a Ship concept. Next cruise is in 28 days on the NCL Escape. Also giving MSC their first shot as we booked the Yacht club on the Seascape for September 2024. Everyone here will have different opinions, and as the previous poster said, once we know more about likes/dislikes more help can be given.
  21. 29 days till In the 2 bedroom Haven Suite on the Norwegian Escape!
  22. Again, All depends on who you get at the entrance to the terminal checking paperwork, and also depends on how crowded the terminal already is. A lot of time they instruct the staff when not busy to let everyone in, other times if terminal is already busy they crack down on the check in times. Usually not always as long as disembarkation is going smoothly and there is no USCG inspection or other inspection they dont even look at the times.
  23. So Cruising Royal many times as well as NCL many times I would say Unless you are sailing one of the Oasis Class ships they are very similar! I will give NCL Freestyle dining a huge edge when comparing to anytime dining on RCCL. Whenever we have done Anytime on RCCL we always have a long wait, especially on the Oasis Class Ships.
