  1. Princess will be pretty much standard across the fleet. You can expect one or more formal nights on any Princess cruise. (Well, short ones are different.) You can dress up as much as you want.
  2. Since the lobster in the MDR isn't the best, I won't be tempted to order one, let alone two. Anyone remember surf and turf was a dinky steak and two very large prawns (no lobster)? I liked those prawns.
  3. Of course, one cruise is never exactly the same as another, and people can have very different experiences even on the same cruise. I'm sure the posters of these threads are telling the absolute truth of the way they each saw it. More likely, there was a change in staffing between cruises, and it's no secret that staffing shortages and limited time to train new crews has been an ongoing problem industry wide.
  4. I never trust that app. I have never, in 30 Princess cruises, found the afternoon tea too crowded. It's also something that goes on for a bit, so people will leave and free up tables.
  5. This is the sort of thing one might take up with the Captain's Circle host, but that position is going away. More "new" Princess "improvements." I have had more than one little mishap addressed by a friendly CC host.
  6. Haha. That is so true. And good luck getting that coffee refill. In spite of it all, I like MDR breakfast. I'm never in much a hurry. If I have to do an excursion, I'll do room service breakfast.
  7. This menu is an improvement over Sur La Mer. I think the surgharge is a bit high, but for seafood lovers, it might be worth it. Which ships will have this?
  8. I think part of the post-covid staffing problems include new hires who are not properly trained. DH wouldn't leave the house without those paper docs, and I agree since that app is just a bug-ridden amatuer disaster.
  9. Well, some people like one thing and some another. Strange? Coral has the best buffet! The views!
  10. I do this, too! I take it to the cabin and relax on the balcony with a book. I know you can get iced tea from room service, but it's too weak for me. I always take some tea bags with me from home. Strong black.
  11. Last fall. We ate in Club Class, so maybe I missed it. As long as it tastes the same, the main dish or appetizer isn't a problem.
  12. On my only Majestic cruise, Plat/Elite lounge was held in the Vista Lounge.
  13. Since Royal class is it these days, I guess Regal is my choice among them. It was after the Royal, the first one, and they worked a lot of the bugs out with the Regal. (But it's still too big for me.)
  14. It would make sense as a main course since it is so rich. I always have to share the appetizer portion.
  15. I heard that the beloved twice baked goat cheese souffle was removed from the regular MDR menu rotation and that it can only be ordered now in one of the speciality restaurants (which one). I hope this is not true and just a rumor. I know too many people who would be very sad if they can't get their goat souffle in the MDR anymore. Anyone else hear this?
  16. Yes. I did a month on the Pacific Princess. The smaller the better. I don't need multiple bars and restaurants, not to mention all the additional passengers. After that, it would be the Coral (the only ship for Panama, IMO) and then the Diamond/Sapphire. I don't mind the Crown class ships. I haven't had an outstanding cruise on any of the Royal class ships because of size issues. We are seriously looking at Azamara and Oceana because the prices on Princess are mounting anyway.
  17. A question: where is Good Spirits? Where is Bellini's?
  18. There is a Live From thread here on the Sky. Post dry dock. Might ask there.
  19. I have never seen fried onion rings on Princess, but it seems like something they should do. Up on Lido at the grill, for instance. I would order some with my hot dog.
  20. I have never noticed that. Is this on both Grand class and Royal class ships?
  21. Nah. I live in the sticks. 😁 I thought you were saying there were food trucks on the ship. 🤣
