  1. That would be very subjective. I'm usually too warm. Take a light jacket or sweater with you just in case.
  2. Why do cruisers care about anything? I would bet there is something you care about that others don't. Lots of people love formal night MDR. Lots of others don't. They like to plan ahead. "Be prepared."
  3. This is frustrating. We are on that June 17 cruise. Will they switch back to Skagen (?) like they have done on the current cruise?
  4. Well, if he told her she wouldn't board without the passport, I would take him at his word. He was the guy at the gate, not you. "Charles told me" aren't magic words.
  5. “I was told…” won’t do any good if the ship sails without you. Really, this friend of the OP needs to find out the rules and follow them.
  6. It's been awhile since I sat in a PES waiting area with the coffee and pastries. The last one I remember was SF a few years back. Do they still exist?
  7. We just got the email about tendering at Skagway. The Royal. I have been reading about the rock slides and wondered if we would be affected. We have an excursion booked through the ship, so I'm assuming we will be able to tender ashore in time.
  8. Great post, and I think you might be unique in finding formal night "formal." 🙂
  9. Reading the threads about kids' clubs reminded me of the Junior Chef program where kids got to tour the galley and make a cake. They came back with stuff, aprons, hats, etc. It was an upcharge thing and mine loved it when they were younger (not teens). Has that program been eliminated? It sounds like they would have for covid, but was that it? Seems like a good way for Princess to collect more nickels and dimes.
  10. We took twins from what used to be Pelicans right up through Beach House, which will be their last year in kids' club. I think they are a little sad about it (but teenagers won't tell you that.) Our youngest grandchild was a week from turning 3 on one cruise, but they let us take her in the club if we sat with her. I don't know if they would still do that. It was a long time ago (Old Princess).
  11. Are they still doing the two menus? I remember one time there was a chicken curry on the menu. I liked the shrimp and the fish, so either is okay with me, but I'm not sold on the MDR as "pub."
  12. It would help if Princess would be consistent in the names of things.
  13. OK. Har, har, har. Quite the comedian.
  14. The new Princess improvements in customer service. 😶
  15. Mine always loved the kids' clubs. We had to drag them out.
  16. They seem to be more prevalent in some areas. Out here in the hinterlands we’re lucky if there is one per town. A friend’s daughter works in headquarters and they are branching out to other states. She gets to go train new staff in new locations. Funny thing but she is a vegetarian.
  17. Thanks! I’ll remember that next time I’m in san pedro I am boring. I like the regular cheeseburger. And root beer.
  18. Point taken. But even on a formal night there is no requirement to go to the MDR. The buffet, speciality dining, room service, all can be enjoyed without a tux. Cruisers who object to dressing up can still enjoy a cruise.
  19. You have a point. A UK cruiser might not have room for his fancy dress outfit if he’s going as a Viking with that huge shield and a helmet with those fake horns.
  20. Funny. I am about to go for Paris visit number ten and I learn something new from Les Frenchies on every new video. I will recommend the videos too.
  21. I'm a frequent flyer (floater?) from San Pedro, but I don't know the closest In-N-Out to the port. They are the best hamburgers but the restaurants are not thick on the ground, unfortunately.
  22. That kind of misses the point, for me. The MDR doesn't feel "pub" like the old Wheelhouse Bar did.
  23. Thanks for the review. I tried Sur La Mer and thought it was gimmicky and weird, not a true seafood restaurant. I am hoping to try Catch on the Sky, and I'm hoping that halibut is tasty.
