  1. Very much looking forward to your review of Beyond! Myself and a friend are also sailing semi-solo in (me in Aqua Class and her in a solo IV cabin) on Beyond over Thanksgiving week so your detailed and funny reviews are of particular interest! Safe travels and I can't wait to read all about your adventure! Thank you for live blogging!
  2. I am following along too as we are Sailing on Beyond starting November 20 as well. I have sailed on Edge, and Apex already so looking forward to checking out Beyond and what is different.
  3. We also just booked a sky suite for this cruise! Amazing deal and even better with a casino discount! Will find that roll call next to sign up! Thank you OP for letting everyone know!
  4. @Chrish2 Would you please add our link to the spreadsheet? Thank you in advance! Nothing like planning ahead! We just booked this cruise in 2024! Here's the link for sailor loot - https://virg.in/ovBc Valiant Lady Eastern Caribbean Antilles 8 nights April 6-14/2024
  5. I sailed solo on a Blue Chip comped cruise on Apex and have another one coming up on Beyond Thanksgiving week. Its a great deal not having to worry about any solo supplement! And if you decide to add someone later on to your room they usually only have to pay the port taxes/fees (depending on your comp level of course)
  6. Ship: Scarlet Lady Cabin#: 15291Z Deck #:15 Cabin Category: Gorgeous Suite - this is a wheelchair accessible suite Sleeps: 1, 2, 3 or 4 - sleeps 4 - 2 in king bed and 2 in couch pull out Cabin Location: (Port, Starboard, Forward, Aft) - forward Terrace/Window/Obstruction: large balcony with 2 sliding glass doors, one of the sliding doors had a mechanism that would pop out into a wheelchair ramp. We didn't need this so we only used the other door as we were concerned we would trip on the ramp Noise Issues?: None Wind Issues?: None Connecting Cabin? Where Does it Connect?: No Hammock: Yes /No - Yes Metal/Glass Terrace: - Glass Advantages/Problems - if you are in this cabin and don't require a wheelchair, somethings are very problematic. The bathroom is much smaller than the regular gorgeous suites - both the sink area and the shower are very small. There is very little counter room in the bathroom to put your stuff and no shelving anywhere in the bathroom. The seat in the shower takes up the whole shower when down and is annoying when its folded up. There is nowhere in the shower to place any shampoo etc if you aren't using the stuff on the wall. There is a cloth shower curtain instead of just the nice big walk in shower. Often we had to put a towel on the floor to soak up the water. The door to the bathroom is an auto slide when you push the button. We had the cabin attendant disable it so we could close it otherwise it continually opened and closed on its own. At night we left it closed to prevent it from sliding but going in and out you had to wait while it closed completely before you could open it again. The dresser by the full length mirror was much higher than normal and only had 1 drawer in it. In previous gorgeous suite stays I sat here to blow dry my hair, apply makeup but couldn't really do that as well in this configuration. Would You Book Again?: No. I wasn't made aware when booking that this was an accessible cabin and given the choice I would have booked a different gorgeous suite. Comments: Virgin gave us some Future Voyage credit as compensation which was appreciated. I would absolutely not recommend this cabin for more than 1 or 2 people.
  7. Why not try the Valiant sailings? They are 7-8 days starting in November I believe One nice thing about the 4/5 nighters is it gives people a chance to try the ship/cruise line without making a huge commitment time-wise or financially before they figure out if they like it enough to sail longer. We did a 4 night first and now have 8 and 15 night sailings booked.
  8. @Chrish2 Can you please add our link for the Valiant Lady sailing Feb 11-19/23? https://virg.in/on6m
  9. I am happy to hear it worked for you linking your sailings for the Share the Love benefit. It is a great deal! My account also previously showed a $100 bar tab credit but doesn't any longer. I think what they were saying is correct about it being part of the Deep Blue extras. With that you get a Shake for Champagne which initially showed as a $100 bar tab credit.
  10. I agree on their IT issues. Is anyone else getting this screen when they try to log into their account on the website? Blank and can't use the book buttons or the chat. Ive tried on Chrome and Safari
  11. Absolutely they can be added after - I have done it on 3 different cruises. You do need to have the booking code (6 digit) and full name of the person you want to link with. Once you have that info, call or email Virgin to have them add it and then you will each get the $50
  12. Hmmm should I be worried that I didn't get any confirmation when I submitted mine today I wonder? Oh nevermind I mistakenly thought I read you received an email confirmation - I believe I received the same thing you did. Sorry for the confusion
  13. Are you planning to do the special tea service in the Sip bar? We saw that last time and we're considering doing it this next cruise (with the champagne of course 🙂
  14. Thank you for posting! Does the ship seem fairly full? We have only been on once and had only 539 passengers so we are hoping its busier this time (although it was nice not having to wait for anything!)
  15. Definitely our first cruise was only 4 nights and the upcoming one is 5 but we are booked on Valiant 8 nights in February and really looking forward to having more time onboard to relax and enjoy everything the ship has to offer. Virgin really needs to come out with that loyalty program soon!
  16. Walter - thanks for posting the review - it was really great and really captured the "essence" of the Scarlet Lady. We are sailing the end of September for our second cruise (first was in February) and after watching this we are even more excited to go back if that is even possible!
  17. Hello! Are you guys sailing on the Sept 30 Scarlet Lady sailing? We are also mega rockstars in a gorgeous suite and contemplated throwing in a bid but haven't as of yet. From what I have read you don't hear anything until 48 hours before the sailing. I think that is to allow for no-shows or people testing positive at the pier that can't board. Now that testing is less prevalent the chances for a suite upgrade seem much lower. I'd like to bid on the Massive suite!
  18. I saw a comment on FB from someone currently on Apex that plays video poker. They were saying that they were very surprised to learn today that the lowest denomination for VP in the casino is now 50 cents not .25. Can anyone currently on a Celebrity ship confirm whether this is a fleet wide change or just on Apex?
  19. Im not sure if Cruise critic allows me to suggest ones but if you want to email me - jh4566 at yahoo dot ca I can give you more info on who we have used if you like
